Guys relax, they are probably just unlocked immediately with that e-capcom pre-order and available to the rest of us by unlocking automatically over time/battles or via fight money...

Wait til you have more info and have faith... Capcom is not going to make every little freaking in-game custom option behind an exclusive order, paywall or region locked. C'mon son!

FANG looking nice, interesting that poison doesn't clash with fireballs. I was curious as to how FANG would hang against fireball characters since he doesn't have a parry or visible fireball counter type move and his fireballs have an arc. Digging it.
 
Weird, Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360 / February 2009) sold 2.5 million copies within the first month.

Considering the growth of fighting games, tournaments, streaming, digital markets (steam/psn), marketing, crossplay etc. this time around I would think 2 million is guaranteed for SFV. Estimates should be higher imo.

Capcom for years were notorious for overestimating how much games would sell. And it ended up meaning that they'd often times miss their sales targets. They've since scaled that back and have been more reasonable. They put a 2.5m target on Monster Hunter X, and it ended up selling 3m in a month.

Also, 2 million is like...what they initially shipped for SF4, MVC3 and SFxT. It's a standard number for them, so that number really makes me raise an eyebrow if they're pushing esports hard.

I think that SFxT initially sold 600,000 less than they expected. And over its lifetime has only reached 1.7M.
Seeing as that was their last big fighting game release and it had huge amounts of hype and marketing, but still failed quite badly, I can see why Capcom would be conservative this time around.

It happened in sf4 too, with the Xtekken costumes, where capcom said that the non tekken related sf costumes would eventually come over. Not only did they never come over, they made other costumes. Oh look at that, someone made Eddie E cody available in 10 colors, welp can't let that work go to waste.
 
Capcom has put SFV's sales expectation for the year at 2m.

Its not for this year. It is for their fiscal year which ends on March 30th.

No version after Vanilla sold more than 2 million, though. Maybe that's just their lowballing estimate.

SSF4 did 2m
SSF4 3DS also came close to 2m?
AE did 1.1m on consoles and Then there is the PC version which is at 700k.
Ultra did 500k on Retail , Dunno what the numbers are at now.


SFV will easily cross 2m , I suspect the pre order numbers alone might be close to that number.

SFxT still used same models and graphics. That matters a lot to casuals. Thats why you cant compare Tekken 7 with something like Tekken Tag 2.

SFxT also had huge negativity around it at launch because of the DLC thing.

Pre-order exclusive stuff is never exclusive

Especially if they're not available everywhere. There's always money to be made. I also think the Steam version mentions something about 16 colors in the Season Pass description.
 
Capcpom is doing everyone a favour keeping those hideous pre-order skins locked away. Most of the black/red ones don't look good at all with V's lighting and ganguro Cammy should've never made it past approval.
 
The only colors I love from the characters are:

- Dhalsim (which happens to be the color I always choose for him)
- Birdie (love the gold chains)
- Nash

I would have liked Chun-Li's, but she doesn't have the gray leggings.
 
Is there gonna be a thread to swap pre-order costume codes? I forget if there was one already. Need to offload this JoJos Bison for a hot Ryu.
