Serkan Toto Rumor: Bandai Namco making several NX games, including a Smash for launch

This as well. Dark Pit, Lucina, and Dr. Mario being in their own corner away from everyone else, while other clone characters aren't was very odd.

Also all custom moves unlocked from the start and custom moves for DLC characters.

Oh god, custom moves unlocked. Yes please. Bad enough I had to do it TWICE. Ughhhhhhhhhhh.

SAKURAI DO NOT MAKE ME UNLOCK ALL THE HATS AND CUSTOMS AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN.

Shush, don't hype everyone! ;) Thankfully, Bayonetta and Corrin are going to be out next month so I don't really need to think about Smash NX right now.

If it's just direct port then I'm still going to pick it up regardless if it have new contents or not.

Hype first, consequences later. :P

Does this guy who reported this rumor have a strong track record?

He dropped some tidbits about Ninty's mobile games a few months ago.

I don't mean to be rude in correcting you but I'm a girl. I feel bad but it's kinda a pet peeve of mine

Would be nice if gender-neutral pronouns were standard on the internet unless someone's gender is explicitly known, tbh. Would avoid a lot of this kind of confusion and stop the kinda skeevy assumption that everyone is male by default.

People do this all the time in other threads?

You post a thread about Gears 4 looking good. "Nah man, Gears 2 is the only game I'll play". There's really not a big reason for everyone here to jump on him, especially as plenty of others mentioned not buying this unless there's extra content. To him, this is extra content.

Christ, it wasn't even a hostile post.

Honestly, I'm just wondering how far they'd go with a port. I like to think that they would do something bigger than just Smash Wii U but with DLC. They'd at least have to merge both versions to create the "ultimate" game. And given that Ice Climbers and Chorus Kids didn't get in due to technical limitations, I'd hope they would take advantage of the better processing power to add them.

I'm so excited. Smash 4 Ultimate edition at NX launch would be amazing.

I have to imagine there would be some exclusive content as well just to provide some extra incentive. Maybe not something as significant as a new character, but maybe some new stages and/or costumes - for example, it could contain all Smash 4 stages from both the Wii U and 3DS.

It'd be cool if all the scrapped content (or at least, some of it) made it in actually. Like that Dr. Mario stage found in the data. That would've been really cool.

I wonder if Duck Hunt being ported to the 3DS version in the September update was an experiment for cross-platform porting, actually?

Would they improve much though? Its already 1080p and 60 fps.

3DS + Wii U stages in one game, DLC characters/stages/etc. available from the start, other little goodies to make it worth it

Really, they probably just don't want a good game to go to waste just because it cam out for Wii U.

Great move. Smash 5 isn't coming out any time soon, and all the DLC they worked on ensures it's even further away. This with all the DLC characters, stages from the Wii U and 3DS versions, and maybe some new characters would be an incredible value. I hope that they add some additional Amiibo features as well, such as unlocking challenges or trophies.

Having the portable content on a console, the two characters that were cut due to the technical limitations of the 3DS, maybe bring back the last remaining handful of cut first party vets (Wolf, Ivsaur, Squirtle, Pichu).

They could make the upgrade worthwhile by doing any of those three. If they did all three of them Smash NX would be a day one purchase for me.

Well, if we didn't get any new contents, then I hope they would allows us to transfer our saves to next console so we don't have to start all over again with Smash NX.

Adding all the 3DS stages sounds like a stretch, although I'd love to see Magicant, Mute City and Dream Land.

Maybe my dream of a custom music uploader will finally come true?

So what many of us are expecting (Smash 4 getting a NX port) is rumored to happen? Who would of thought ;).

To be serious, this is an oddly smart move on Nintendo's part; ensures there launch has a huge game day one on top of Zelda and Pikmin 4 (plus other Wii U ports if they are coming).

I just wonder what they are going to add in this port, as they got the Smash Ballot and got a lot of votes....... I could see the following being added to a NX Smash 4 port:
-Every DLC character getting more music (Ryu and Cloud, looking at you guys here :l), trophies, some custom moves, and Smash Run foes.
-Smash Run and Smash Board (the board game thing on Wii U) in the NX version
-Most of the 3DS stages added alongside the Wii U stages; DLC stages included
-Three New Fighters Join the Roster: Ice Climbers, Wolf and Inkling
-All Mii Costumes (DLC) unlocked from start
-All Custom Moves unlocked from the start

Would be nice, but is there a good way to do it with English?

Their would normally imply multiple people, and saying 'he or she' or 'this person' etc is long winded and makes for clunky writing.

Just use they. It will seem odd at first, but you get used to it really quickly.

I don't see the sense of releasing Smash 4 again on a third platform. Most Nintendo fans that had any interest has already purchased it on a 3DS or Wii U. Its not a situation like TLOU remastered where a significant portion of the userbase didn't have a PS3. What would be the improvements? DLC you can already buy separately? And it's already 1080p 60fps.

I don't know maybe it will do well. A big portion of Nintendo's existing fanbase are loyal to the brand more than anything and have already made up their minds of purchasing an NX without even knowing what it is. But for me who it doesn't fall into this group, this seems pretty pointless if true.

I predict Super Smash Bros NX will be along these lines:

A merger of the Wii U & 3DS versions

All stages from both games.

All DLC included.

Exclusive characters & stages (Splatoon included).

Improved graphical details and effects.

We couldn't transfer our unlocked customs from 3DS to Wii U, i'm not hopeful for wii u to nx ;_;

Don't worry it happens. It's usually a safe bet to assume most people are male here anyways

Hopefully they add a good single player mode to NX Smash, like Wiis Brawl had. Otherwise the port would be pointless, even graphically, because Smash WiiU is already FullHD/60FPS.

Just when you think the Smash Hype Train has reached its final stop, shit like this happens and boots it right up again.

My prediction is april for hardware announcement with maybe a game or two, and E3 with more games and generic launch info (coming this holiday season) and a fall press conference/direct with the exact date, launch lineup, launch window, and 'future' game announcements.

I would take it if it's in case. I can't lie but I'm very curious about upcoming console because it's always exciting to see what they have in their sleeves.

I wouldn't be surprised if the newest financial report contains the "announcement of the announcement", i.e. revealing when they plan to formally unveil NX. And then the official reveal of the concept will likely happen in March or so, with the full console and games at E3.

Just 5 more days, right?

True. Nintendo shouldn't put toooooo many eggs in one basket at NX launch - of course put some great titles out at launch but be sure to save some for 2017. I think SSB is a logical launch game, and if not right at launch, perhaps in December/a couple weeks after like Melee in NA/Japan. Great opportunity to sell systems, games, amiibos... it's a logical holiday release.

I'm expecting it and Zelda U will be the main "Wii U port" titles at launch, with other ports (like maybe Xenoblade X or Tropical Freeze) spread throughout 2017.

This is true too, heh.

Yeah, that would make sense.

Just hear me out.

Corrin and Bayonetta seem to be almost finished in December so they are working on balance, etc. It's possible that they could hire more workers to group up and working on NX for 7-9 months to add extra contents for Smash

Think about it: one year and few months with small team just for 7 DLC characters and 8 DLC stages. If we have bigger team this time, then they could have got it done in less months to push it out for NX.

Sorry for rambling but I know it's very unlikely that we would get any new contents tho.
I feel bad for a lot of splatoon fans since they really want to get playable Inklings but they might have to wait for awhile.

YIkes, I forget all about that.

Will they bring Pokken to NX I wonder?

It's more likely that we would get Pokken for NX but it's possible that we could get more characters in NX version.

Was wondering that about splatoon as well

I would rather to see Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 9 because they can really bring more stuffs into those franchises. Splatoon is a great start, and I could see them bringing more things into it.

I think they rather work on splatoon 2
Yeah I wonder if the game pad will be compatible with the nx

True it is getting close to a new Mario kart being due

As a competitive sm4sh player I really hope they don't add new characters since it might hurt the scene for people to need a new console to stay competitive.

Will they bring Pokken to NX I wonder?

I see games like Pokken or Splatoon just getting sequels rather than ports -- especially the latter. If Splatoon's a franchise they want to grow, fast-tracking a sequel is the best way to do things. It'd be a great summer 2017 game (or holiday if they need the extra time), followed up by or following Mario Kart within a few months' timespan.

Just use they. It will seem odd at first, but you get used to it really quickly.

Indeed! Most people have always been using they/them for ambiguous genders unconsciously anyway.

Tekken 7 seems reasonable.

Maybe a Tales port.

If Berseria is on NX, that'd make it the first Tales game to be multiplatform at launch, right?

Since things like PS2 Symphonia, PS3 Vesperia, and PS3 Graces were all a year after the original. It wouldn't be a huge stretch for Namco though. They don't seem to have a problem with multiplatform releases in recent times and I think the only reason there's never been a multiplat Tales until now was just for technical, sales, or logistical purposes.

Tekken 7 would make a lot of sense as an NX game since it runs on the ever-flexible UE4, and Tekken 3D and Tag 2 on Wii U are both things that happened. We don't even know when the console version's supposed to launch but a holiday timeframe seems logical. And if Soulcalibur VI is in development, that could come out too.
