Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

I got no problem with Kens because S H O T O B O Y Z, but laggy teleporting Kens :\

Maybe I haven't figured out the right combo of settings but if that's not the case then Capcom should look into adding 'Only Block Low/Only Block High' to the Dummy Settings
 
How do I not play against people outside my region? My internet isn't strong enough to handle that kind of ping.

you could do it in the air as far back as the first beta, but now that you mention it, it may have been out of the last one.

It's such a great looking super but I like his EX moves so much I rarely use it. It is really glorious to end matches with though.

Well fuck me. Played some on my lunch break at home and lost every single match with Rashid, bringing my LP all the way down to 0.

I need to figure out how to properly use him, because I like him a lot. He controls/plays like a KOF character.
 
Quick question if anybody can help me. Every time I launch the SFV Beta app from my PS4 it gives me this error - "Not Enough Storage Space". I currently have over 25GB of empty storage space. Anyway to resolve this issue?
 
The netcode for me so far has been either one of two things with no in between

1) Perfect
2) Teleporting Houdini's

I'll pay more attention, but I'm going to see if I get more magical wizards doing PC to PC or PC to PS4, so far it looks like I've had better connections with PS4 players as a PC player.

This is the first beta I've been able to participate in, finally had the cash to preorder. Wanted to try Karin out, got sad when I found out her Rekkas is a V-Trigger and not a base ability. Not sure I'll stick with her, but I did manage to get into a groove and get into a little win streak with Karin. As a Rose player in SF4, Laura is probably a better fit for me anyway so I should try her out.

I really enjoy not having 1 frame links anymore, with all the hundreds of hours I put into SF4 I could never really consistently do them, my hands just don't want to cooperate with my brain. Plinking helped a bit but I just couldn't do them consistently enough, made trying characters like Evil Ryu a bit annoying. Combos being shorter is something I generally enjoy as well, but I can see the complaint some have where the game is possibly a bit too simple on the offense.

Graphically the game is beautiful, with my 3570k and GTX 770 I'm able to hit that perfectly smooth 60 FPS you need with max settings. No 4k downsampling like USF4, hopefully I can do that later this year when I upgrade my GPU. The game also seems to have gotten rid of the tearing I'd get sitting at 60 FPS in SF4, which is fantastic. I wasn't about to turn on Vsync and take that extra input lag.

Are you sure it's not talking about PS plus cloud storage? Might want to clear some stuff out of your cloud saves.

I'm actually in Europe (UK).
There isn't a download to PS4 button either.
Going in to my account on the Sony Entertainment website then in to the All Media folder all it says is:

Street Fighter V Beta Trial
Starts: 21/12/2015
Expries: -
Remaining: -

When I put my code back in to the PS Store, it says this code has already been used.
 
I really have problems doing the 2 quarter circles for ryu's super, I almost always end up doing a shoryuken. I don't understand if I'm the problem or the brawlstick.

Had the same problem with a similar amount of storage. Ended up deleting a couple smallish games to get it going.
 
Every Ken I have played (about 15) has been a teleporting bonanza. Every not Ken I played the net code has been rock solid.

Edit: Yeah that's weird, there doesn't seem to be a page for the beta on the UK store

c.MP is like the best normal in the whole game. Abuse that shit, it's fast, anti airs from mulitple ranges and even fucking frame traps.
 
Alright, I'm starting to get used to using a fight stick. Just gotta make sure my left hand doesn't start losing it's grip when I'm taking beatings.

One general question I have though: when I go for grabs on their wake up, the game begins to show my grab animation, but then it show that I got grabbed by them. Is that just some dumb rollback, or am I starting my grab too early? It seems to happen too often to be rollback, but I would expect to get grab techs more often.
 
I'm gonna be sad if cross platform play is limited to randoms. I want to be able to invite my PS4 friends into PC lobbies to play with them since they only own PS4 or PC, but not both.

Also I can rest easy knowing that my sub 60 framerate isn't affecting my opponent. I set the game to 1080pm max settings and the game runs 30fps with frame skipping while fighting, but victory poses are still sloooow, LOL. Back to "SFV Last Gen Edition" to me. (Because 720p medium settings :p)

You're going to have a HUGE backlash if this happens, but I doubt it since we all connect to the same Capcom Fighters Network

Yeah, this is interesting, gotten quite a few international matches if the flag is to be believed.

Maybe their matchmaking prioritizes players around your skill level vs connection/other countries.
 
Why does the PS4 version of this game have weird black lines textured in the character models? It's hard to explain and it's fairly subtle but it just looks weird. It looks really noticeable on R. Mika.

You're right. That is how I expect they handle it, since we can add "favorites" via CFN no matter the platform.

I'm not sure what to tell you then. The button should be there if you're on the UK version of that page and logged in. Although I can't find the address for that page on the UK site to get there directly, unfortunately.
 
I love how people seemingly forget that supers can kill with chip. I've gotten a few people who thought they were safe blocking with 1 hp.

I've caught many with Rashid, doing a fierce whirlwind into his roll (which boosted is nearly fullscreen) immediately into super. People will catch on and start jabbing from a distance though.
