I can't wait

I don't think Ryu is a good beginner character at all in this game due to his traditional fireball zoning game not really being there.

Ps4 coming tonight or tomorrow, stickless though (Markman send me my stick pls). Will surely have a shit ton of updates and data to download but gonna try and get that Cammy business back.

Whoa I guess you can get matches while looking at the leaderboards or just being in the menus apparently. Not sure if I like that :T

Bison changes. Feels bad:

1) Forward Throw - Stun 150 -> 170.
2) Back Throw - Stun 150 -> 200.
3) V-Reversal - On block -3 -> -2.
4) V-Skill - Upper body hurtbox reduced significantly during startup. Head area hurtbox reduced during active.
5) Critical Art - Last hit damage 260 -> 270. Total damage 330 -> 340.
5) Standing MK - Damage 70 -> 60, hurtbox retracts 1F sooner.
6) Standing HP - Hurtbox moved backwards during later recovery frames.
7) Crouching Cr.HP damage (base) 90->100. Optimal damage for VTC cobmos now uses Cr.HP VTC S.HP instead of S.HP Scissors HK Cr.MP.
7) Jumping HP - Hurtbox slightly expanded downwards.
8) Jumping HK - Hurtbox moved downward.
9) Psychoblast LP,MP and HP (non-VT) - Hitbox expanded horizontally. Has longer reach.
10) Double Knee Press (Scissor Kick) All non-ex versions - Juggle Potential reduced.
11) Headpress, EX Headpress and VT Headpress no longer OTG.
12) VT-Headpress - In counterhit state 2F longer (?)
13) During V-Trigger, if you can cancel a normal into any special, no charge is required.
14) VT Inferno now completes its animation before transitioning into another EX special, disabling the possibility of VT Inferno comboing into VT EX Headpress on the ground. Hell Attack -> Inferno -> EX Headpress still works.

you can press start in the main menu to config the searching. you can set it to give you a prompt instead of auto-accepting. it's really nice actually.

Ugh I really wish we could turn off the auto-fights in training. Noobs like myself would like a chance to learn a move or two. Instead I get about 10 seconds into training, matched up, and then get completely bodied...

Don't have to worry about timing either. After the first parry all you have to do is mash to parry multihit moves.

Is this for real? lol

You'll get your wish when the game is out.

"Bison changes. Feels bad:"

LOL, did you actually read that whole list?

13) During V-Trigger, if you can cancel a normal into any special, no charge is required.

That's fucking huge.

It was in Beta 1. I don't think it's changed, could be wrong.

Capcom was smart. They made actual parrying very easy compared to SFIII, but they made it more difficult to know when to parry. Like in SF3 parrying was harder, but if you did it you instantly got rewarded with a punish. Here they're easy to do, but you'll only get punishes on moves you know are good parry fodder. So they're rewarding matchup knowledge more.

Beta IV is certainly better than Beta III in terms of getting matches. I really do hope this is the netcode they will use on the final build in a few weeks.

You can even get matches while watching replays. Don't like that much at all. Though in the actual game you'll be able to turn match finding off

Plus SF5 parries are actually punishable (with counterhit status, I believe). SF3 parries didn't have a dedicated whiff animation that could be punished.
