The actual worst is the weather. -32 Celcius here right now... feels like -46 with windchill. We have snow from October until July. When I first got here it was -20 in May and it seemed like the coldest I've ever been. Now that I've lived here for almost 7 years, when it gets to be -20 in May it feels like Spring and I leave my winter coat at home and just wear jeans and a sweatshirt to work.
I think I have posted these videos here before but these are two of the worst storms I've ever experienced up here.
This one is from 2012 and shows how dangerous it can be just being outside for a few minutes in really bad weather (-55/-60 and 100+ km/h winds). I was outside less than 4 minutes and by the end my entire face was covered in ice and you can hear me struggle to breathe. This one is shorter (~ 30 seconds) from last year when the storm was making news. We were getting over 120 km/h gusts of wind for that one.
