Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

It was in Beta 1. I don't think it's changed, could be wrong.

Capcom was smart. They made actual parrying very easy compared to SFIII, but they made it more difficult to know when to parry. Like in SF3 parrying was harder, but if you did it you instantly got rewarded with a punish. Here they're easy to do, but you'll only get punishes on moves you know are good parry fodder. So they're rewarding matchup knowledge more.

That makes sense, but I hope we don't see too much stuff like the YT video posted.

No, previously you had to perform a V special and you could cancel into an VEX special.

Now even the first V special can be done without any charge so long as it is canceled from a normal. It just lopsides him further into being desperate for VT, but it is a really strong change.

Accidentally found a way to stop fight requests while in training mode.

Was showing a friend SF5 on steam with broadcast, didn't notice the stream fully saturated my connection, had search limited to 5 bar only and I didn't get any fight requests in 30min+.

I love that Ken isn't great in this every time I go up against him I know im gonna win. I can't wait until I can actually train with some of these characters. Im getting by on footsies and fundamentals.

Wow this works?

Time fo dat Bandwidth control app for SFV.

Used to be decent at fighting games a long time ago(10+ years). Since then I've only really played Wii U Smash and did well, but I know this is a different beast altogether. I'd love to get into sf, but wonder if I'd get destroyed ... is this more casual friendly than the last?

Yeah, don't stream on wifi.

So does Ken suck now? Seems like all the fun stuff is gone...like wtf is going on here? I mean I'm winning with him, but having really boring time doing it

Yes, it's more casual friendly. Well, the mechanics are easier but that doesn't mean you won't get your butt kicked because you lack fundamentals. If you're looking to get in, better now instead of later on when they might lump on more systems making the game harder to break into.

I'm enjoying Ken wins feel earned, I gotta out footsie and play the other person I like him a lot. He feels honest but buttons are lacking outside cmp

Was that always there?? When did they sneak that under our noses??

He's nowhere near as good (or fun) as he was in the second beta. Still, I'm winning with him and he's got some damn solid buttons such as cr. mp which can be hit confirmed into 2 combos depending on the distance with your opponent. I'm winning regularly, which is ironic since it's the weakest he's been throughout all of the phases.

Yea I know he isn't garbage tier, but I felt his rush down was defined in the last beta, really was exciting to play, seems like another version of Ryu atm...we'll see I guess. As a Ken main actually has lowered my anticipation for the game a bit.

"Bison changes. Feels bad:"

LOL, did you actually read that whole list?

13) During V-Trigger, if you can cancel a normal into any special, no charge is required.

That's fucking huge.
Bison players are unanimously unhappy that normal Bison keeps getting nerfs while VBison gets buffs. I don't want every game to be a race to VT so my character becomes good.

Of course you'll get destroyed. Then you'll get better.

So increased throw stun, better anti-air hurtbox for v-skill, increased super damage, increased cr.hp damage, slightly safer v-reversal, and Non-VT Psycho blast range increase are all nerfs to normal Bison?

The changes to St.mk and HP make them slightly harder to whiff punish as well. Wow he really is getting a ton of nerfs.

Ok.
