Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Accidentally found a way to stop fight requests while in training mode.

Was showing a friend SF5 on steam with broadcast, didn't notice the stream fully saturated my connection, had search limited to 5 bar only and I didn't get any fight requests in 30min+.

Get Net Limiter and set SFV to like 1kb per second both ways or something. That should be better.

So does no one use Rashid? I've only seen one across the last two betas. I'm pretty much the only one I ever see.

I'm a Rashid user, and he's great with his mix-ups and target combo. I have seen several Rashid users throughout the four betas. The one you have to question is that why there aren't any Dhalsim players out there on Beta IV

I've seen one and after he won a round the game went back to the lobby.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"I've been playing Street Fighter my entire life, and I consider myself to be an above average player competitively. I cannot win a SINGLE match in this game. What the FUCK is up with this? I don't understand what is happening. Everything feels so slow with a bazillion frames of recovery."

Looks like the game isn't so simple after all?

Holy shit, I actually won a match. Considering that I suck at Street Fighter and I was using a character that wasn't in a past game (Rashid) I consider this a huge accomplishment.

Rashid is just as much fun as I hoped he would be after seeing his trailer. I'm pretty sure I've found my main.

Rashid is pretty great. His normals are decent, his standing mk is a good poke, d.mp is a really good anti-air, decent overhead, great mobility options, EX tornado works as a GTFO move, and holy shit is his V-Trigger great. He has a bit of trouble doing big damage, but it's a fine trade-off IMO.

Rashid users haven't been giving me much trouble as Nash. Most of them just want to use his divekick thing and I just airgrab them out of everything. I'm sure a good one would be tough though.

I really want to learn him myself. He's a cool character. He's got a fucking scouter. Plus once I learned he doesn't just naturally control the wind and uses some sort of sick tech in his backpack to do that it made him way cooler.

Ryus, Kens, and Bisons never want to play defense after they pop V-Trigger. I've gotten away with throwing out armored moves randomly because they become so obsessed with making use of that meter.

Welp just hit 1000 LP with Dhalsim after a Rashid ate the super because I threw it out and tried to do a teleport mixup but I flubbed the instant air, then he just walked into it for some reason. I will play tomorrow after sitting on it a bit, because Bison gives me the most trouble hands down. He can get in rather easily and his solid normals act as good counter pokes into some pretty beefy damage, that come out faster than Sim. Even off a blocked scissor kick, I think the most I can get is a jab punish into ex flame, the rest of my normals are too slow. I only fought 1 Vega and it was a close game I lost, but I can see that matchup being some trouble.

I don't normally play Dhalsim in SF, but I'm giving him a try as a change of pace to the usual characters I play. I had a rough first couple matches but I'm getting win streaks here and there. I do want to try Fang after seeing that recent vid, I hope he unlocks later this weekend.

Karin's shit is negative on block. Just jab her out of her follow-ups if she's using them braindead (block the first attack obviously).

Just fought a higher level Zangief with Nash and he seems to be chore.

Time to learn how to deal with that.

I feel like fighting Zangief is all about being as spastic and random as possible. Playing footsies with him only results in him SPDing the shit out of you.

Ok, finally got to get in on the beta. 2 mins in training and I get challenged- even though I turned that off as well as put 'ask' on fight confirmation- have NO idea what I'm doing since this is my first time playing Mika since SFA3. Went from 0 points to 66 points (apparently I know how to block decently) then back to 0.

Anywhere I can get the details on Mika? A bit LTTP on this. No paradise hold?! Only one version of shooting peach? What kind of bizzaro world is this?! And whats with the mp hold/whip thing? What am I supposed to do follow up on that?

Those settings don't work in training, only in menu. Look of Bafaels vids

what i've been doing so far after irish whip is ex peach if you're not in the corner and if you're in the corner, hold st. hk until full charge and then ex airplane. probably not optimal but it's a simple hit confirm.
