Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

What kind of error? My laptop can't run the game because it's drivers were outdated (and it had a crappy graphics card anyways), did you check to see if those are up to date?

I guess its not since I had this laptop for like 5 years I think.

I like how I set my connection to 5 and it still matches me up with laggy people instead of my roommate 10 feet away.

But for the most part I had good connections in ranked. Doing very well as bison mostly because this beta is scrubville for some reason. Slowly learning how to deal with people who know how to block, need to get more comfortable with crossups and what to do afterwards. Really need to get used to using ALL of my tools, I don't use cr.HP and jumping MP nearly enough.

But only lost a couple matches and I only felt outmatched in one of them (the level 14 birdie on a 10 win streak). Looking forward to the rest of the weekend, might even fire up Birdie again myself.

Best part of the night was I taught my roommate how to play SF, more or less. He'd only really played guilty gear before. He's catching on pretty quick with Cammy. His 144hz monitor is almost making me reconsider my choice of the PS4 version...it makes 60fps look choppy. I think it's best if we have access to both versions though.

I should hope the tutorial is more than what we've already seen, considering how much better other fighting games have done it.

Premium...color? wtf. All that should just be unlockable.

edit: i'm assuming premium means paid.
According to the live presentation now, they're not paid. Just unlocks. Same goes for clearing story mode with each character unlocking their story costume for purchase in the store.

Oh man, switched to the PC version to compare and goddamn does it look better without the dithering. I'm guessing there's little chance they'll smooth that on out PS4, right?

It's honestly not that bad but no, PS4 is pretty much what you see is what you get at this point.

Guys, guys. Listen. THIS GAME IS FUN AS HELL. Mika is pure happiness in Street Fighter form. Everything here just feels so perfect.

Did pretty well tonight. Mika and Bison racked up some wins for me. Tomorrow I install the Hayabusa stick I ordered and break it in. Street Fighter is life!!

I havent had the urge to compliment someone on what i though was a legit good match since vanilla SF4 days. Made mistake of sending a GG after what i though was a damn good back and forth match. His response? 'Eat a bag of dicks fgt'.

Yeah, I'm sure they would have smoothed it out by now if the PS4 was capable. I'll likely end up with both versions down the line, but I'll stick with the PS4 version as my "main" version so I can move it around more easily for game nights with friends. I just wish your capcom fighter id would unify your account between both platforms so I could play on both without worrying about having to get all the dlc content twice.

As long as they don't nerf Mika anymore between now and release, I'm fine with where she's at.

Sometimes I feel that there's nothing for her to fear unless the opponent has an invincible reversal that they're willing to use.

Guys, any advice countering crossups as Karin? Just played a Nash that consisted on only that, and he pretty much be me free. Only when I have at least a bar I rely on my ex ressenha (shoryu like move), but that's it. When I have no ex, I feel defenseless against that. Is blocking my best option?

PS4 or PC? The game looks a lot better than it did in earlier betas. It looked like the dithering was gone, on PS4, to me.

I still see the dithering on PS4, pretty noticeable to me. Kind of over it already though. Would be cool if they fixed it when the game launches though. It goes away when the Win/Lose animation happens which is weird. It's only during gameplay.

Command dashing can get you out of a lot of it. I think air-to-airing might work too if you want to risk it.

If they keep on crossuping
Did I just invent a word or am I really tired
I just start jumping as soon as I get up and do my mk it hits most of the time.

She's scary as fuck to me. I have no idea what she's doing half the time. I either beat her decent, or get wrecked.

They didn't add any invincibility to Chairlie's EX Sonic Sythe did they? I seem to be having a lot more luck with it as a reversal, but I've also still been hit out of it at startup.

That miiiight've been me. I just fought a Karin using EX Ressenha a lot to try and get out of trouble a lot. Name's bawlsaq. Honestly I find Karin one of the easier characters to fight as Nash.
