Shomi is garbage, don't know why I even bother signing up for it when I already have Netflix and Hulu. I heard it's a pain too cancel the service too.



If true, I'm not even coming close to subscribing then. That's the entire point of steaming services - keeps the provider honest because they KNOW you can cancel on a whim.
 
Crave has a very good selection but the image is shit

If they ever put an app on PS4 with true HD available I'll be a very happy customer
 
Speaking of streaming services, are we allowed to talk about Kodi here?

Kodi/XBMC is just a media program... nothing wrong about that. Now you can do some stuff with Kodi that is maybe not so kosher, but there's no reason why you can't talk about the software.

I have a Kodi install (via OpenELEC) on my HTPC that I ripped every single DVD and Bluray I owned onto, since when I moved to Nunavut I didn't know if I could get any television service.

Anyone have a go-to skin they use for Kodi? I have been using ReFocus for about a year and now every other skin I try seems... I don't know if amateurish is the right word but no other skin feels like something that would come pre-installed on a device like that if I were to buy it from the store, if that makes sense.

I've tried just about every skin there is and nothing compares to Aeon Mq 6 in my opinion . It can be a pain to learn how it works as its a little complicated but you can customize basically everything and make it exactly how you want .
 
GPS itself doesn't use data. if you're using some app with it that downloads stuff as you go then that'll use data. but you can use GPS with offline maps.
You have to download offline map apps specifically for no data ones. Google maps specifically requires data to work.

It's not. I've cancled Shomi twice in the past, and never had any issues with it whatsoever.
 
I have already played Gravity Rush on the Vita so I can wait a bit with replaying it. If it isn't up on Amazon.ca a couple of weeks after launch and I will import it but no rush for me. Sony isn't Nintendo either so if it sells out it will be reprinted instead of reaching $100+.
 
You can still buy the digital version guys. There's nothing to worry about.

We know that. Although, some of us actually wanted a retail version for the game... :/

I did too... but I am supporting and want to support the retail release because I have a feeling that SCE not supporting fully Gravity Rush Remastered release in NA (including Canada) could hamper Gravity Rush 2's success in the long term... :/

My girlfriend and I do a huge shop once a year where we spend anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000 on groceries (dry goods) and then we drop it off with a shipper in Ottawa around Canada Day. They crate everything and load it onto a truck headed to Montreal. Then it gets put onto a ship and we get it at the end of September usually. We brought our truck up here last summer and that alone cost about $3,500.

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but I know there was a time when the iPhone (and I think others) would use "assisted GPS," which does use a little bit of data, as it uses cellphone towers to provide a more accurate location.

I could understand if you wanted to trade it in, but you're likely still coming out on the losing end of that transaction in this case.

It's nice to be able to put a copy of a game you like very much on your shelf without Sony making it unreasonably more difficult than it should be.

The main frustration is that there is just absolutely no reason why Sony can't release a PS4 game in Canada when it is doing so in the US. Both XSEED and Atlus do this without any problem for games on Vita of all consoles.
 
how easy is it to return games to Amazon? I'm worried about them removing my discount to one of my orders if I ask them to change it.

Order has TPHD and FE: Fates Birthright on it. Don't need FE anymore since I was able to get the SE, but I don't know if they would keep my TPHD with the 30% off if I get them to remove it
 
And now Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is up on US Amazon. I have a feeling it will be the next physical game to be skipping Canada.

Let's not lose our heads though. It has happened to exactly one PS4 game, Gravity Rush, and it's not completely ruled out that Amazon.ca will get that one either.

Canadian pre-orders are often up later than the US ones so Valkyria Chronicles not being up isn't even noteworthy.
 
I paid a mighty high price for the Asia Collector's Edition. But even if I didn't, I'd probably import the game from the US despite the high cost.
 
Does someone have history with VideoGamePlus when it comes to online orders? Are they reliable? Do they have a good Customer Service? Is it easy to cancel orders? And, do they charge you only when they ship like the others or is it on checkout?

That's true. I just figured that if Sony isn't footing the bill for a PS4 remaster here in Canada, then Sega surely may not, either. But the videogamesplus preorder is a good sign that I'm likely way off.

Also! How come the shipping prices are different on games versus Blu-Rays on Amazon? I was able to set the most recent 30% Amazon discounted games to $3.99 each (express shipping), but The Force Awakens is showing as $5.90.
