Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Friend bought SF5 from CD Keys for $30, did he get ripped off?

I purchased mine from CDkeys too. Sad that they only release the code for steam after Beta 4 ends. Didn't get to play beta 4 at all T__T

Code is legit, it is just the wait is long.

A question, can I use my PS3 arcade stick to play SFV on PC?

I have SFV preodered on PS4 and today noticed this item...

Street Fighter® V - 2016 Season Pass

Contains 6 additional characters: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien, each with a premium costume, for Street Fighter® V. Also comes with an exclusive PS4 theme! For a limited time only, PS4 Avatars for Ryu, Chun-Li, and M. Bison are also included!

I was sure I can get all chars playing the game... so what is the season pass purpose?

You can either buy characters or grind for points to purchase them in game. The problem is the grind for characters might be a long one, so it may be difficult to easily get all characters for free. The other aspect is that you get a premium costume for each of the DLC characters, which can only be purchased with money and is not unlockable in game

You can play the game and earn FM and buy them like that...or you can just buy them right away. The season pass gives you some premium costumes to make it a better deal, those will cost $4 for everyone else and will probably not be obtainable with FM.

I don't have the time or patience for fighting games these days, with the exception being a new Street Fighter game! Do you guys think the PS4 Collector's Edition is worth it? I can get it for $79.99 on Amazon after the Prime Discount. It's just so damn tempting, Street Fighter is such an integral part of my growing up and playing with friends in arcades and at home. Even if I never was any good :P

Pray tell, if you can, how many stages were there? Is the Shadaloo airport one the last one they've added and if so, is the stage select screen actually asymmetrical then in terms of the no. of stages on both sides?

Also, do any of them outside of the Hong Kong one have actual transitions or time of day / weather effects?

Thanks!
A stage lover.

Yeah depends on the stick I think, some are automatically detected, but if it doesn't work you can use proprietary software here's the tutorial

Ohhh makes sense.

If they will launch a new character each 2 months I guess I will have the enough FM to buy them...

How hard is the grind?

Capcom said if you log in and do dailies every day you should have enough for each new character as they come out. Or something along those lines. Either way, by all accounts it's probably unfair to even call it a grind.

Just got mine from there too using Paypal and it works. It was cheap, so I figured I'd bite on that on top of my PS4 preorder just so I can have both (and ensure I get the name I want for both versions).

So it turns out Zen was actually a character considered by Capcom.

Interesting, so Ken's info was just outdated.

From the concept I'd assume he got scrapped since he kinda gives Rashid vibes.
So similar to what happened with Sal Romano & his Smash 4 leaks.

That being said, as stated before, nothing's stopping Zen from being DLC eventually. Maybe he'll be in Wave 2.

So what are the odds of Zen & Eisbahn being in Wave 2?

That being said, Capcom made the right call with F.A.N.G being the last newcomer instead of Zen.

Apparently the Zen Tweet actually says that the character was designed in response to the rumor floating around, so maybe he wasn't considered to begin with. We're going to need a better translation to be sure.

As an Indian , I am glad he got scrapped. I am not really liking his design all that much. Seems a little too generic , Capcom can do better.

His moustache styling also makes me think he was specifically South Indian , possibly Rajni kanth inspired?
He is quite popular in Japan after all.

Hopefully Capcom makes it to wave 2

Lol

But they have been posting nothing but profits for the past few quarters.

They could always update his design if he becomes DLC.

There seems to be this undercurrent of doubt around SF5 for some reason. It's really weird to me. Like, there is zero chance this doesn't make its target for the fiscal and get to year two.

Even SFxT got an update and that game bombed. I

Daigo needs to donate his winnings to charity again next year. Capcom seems like the appropriate charity.

Hopefully Sony funds wave 2 so we can actually get it on time. I wonder what that job posting thing was that they did at Capcom Cup was for. Costumes? Stages? Hats?

The issue is that it's a Japanese company abandoning the Japanese market base (arcades) in favor of a Western content model.

Suspect they're undershooting on purpose on their targets.

That Zen looks awful, so hopefully not back without a major redesign.

Anyway. Since this game is confirmed to have a robust storymore that will continually be updated and seemingly be the lead in to the 3 era, I think both Sean and Oro have a high chance of being future DLC.

No, that is exactly what he meant. He was making a joke. He never said "if they make a phase 2" he said "if CAPCOM makes it to phase 2".

Holy fuck I completely misinterpreted your entire post. I thought you meant that it was said in the interview I linked that they didn't know if they'd make it to phase 2. I didn't know you were talking about the other poster. My apologies.

Im just joking guys but hopefully Sony funds wave 2 so we can actually get it on time.
We will. It's a games as a service model, it deoends on them cranking out content constantly. It would be shocking if they aren't preparing for season 2 by June.

The guy you responded to and put the interview link up for, Dark Ninja. We know they are making another wave. He was joking about them closing.\

Oh its fine. Haha, figured that out with the last post. All is well.

Yeah I only just realised that. Sorry for the confusion

Personally I have zero doubt that SFV will do really well, there seems to be nothing but an air of positivity around it, be it from the press, competitive scene or otherwise.

In the end, ditching the arcade scene in Japan was the right decision, especially if you take the worldwide audience into account. Otherwise it would have been Tekken 7 all over again, which still doesn't have a console release date.
