Ok, well let's say he's had more than a fair share of concussions and that his wrestling style means that he is more susceptible. I worded that badly - didn't mean to imply that he is genetically susceptible, more that he has a history and that, combined with his wrestling style means that they are scared shitless that he will get more.

This is Tommy Dreamer going through a table, if you know anything about him you know that he shouldn't even be wrestling. So it's probably not for the well being of Bryan or it isn't a big part of it.

Its actually covering their ass. If Bryan gets hurt now in their ring after THEIR doctor didn't pass him, they are fucked. Bryan is most likely "retiring" to get out of his contract.

Overall I don't think Vince is happy about it. Why would he? He needs talent bad, and he just lost another one. And yeah maybe it's cause of lawsuit, but he can't be pleased.

Tommy Dreamer wrestling was a one-off. Less risk involved. Daniel Bryan doesn't want to be a part timer or wrestle once every 5 years. He wants to be back on as a regular.

Exactly. They have a ton of injuries right now. If Bryan was in any way able to be passed fit to wrestle, he would be. Even if he went to WM32 and lost to Reigns it would immediately generate a ton of upside in storyline and interest terms. The only reason Trips is champion now is because there is literally nobody on the active roster that they trust to carry a feud with Reigns.

Also, Tommy Dreamer likely has numerous concussions because of hard chair shots to the head, not fairly safe table bumps and he came back for one match where he didn't do much.

Some of you sound like complete idiots implying the WWE is happy about losing Daniel Bryan as an in-ring talent.

Bottom line is that WWE management was vindicated for NOT putting the company on Daniel's fragile back. He had a hell of a run being a smaller guy wrestling with huge guys. Let's celebrate what he accomplished versus shitting on WWE, HHH, Vince, Roman Reigns, Sheamus, Orton or any other scapegoat you want to create.

While I don't think he loved the NXT Tough Enough deal, I think he'd be great in a talent scouting/development role moving forward. Don't really see him as being a compelling on-screen personality that doesn't wrestle, that's not his strong suit.

Even though coaching is not what he wants to do, he was far better in that judging role than anyone else there, since he had real and practical insight into what the contestants were lacking and what they needed to do. He obviously understands wrestling at a level very few do, and passing that on would definitely be a good thing.
