It's not a work in that regard. There won't be a swerve tonight. ESPN even announcing it. He'll give an emotional speech, tear up a bit and spam YES chants for 20 minutes. All that will be real. No Mark Henry swerve. The underlying reasons for his 'retirement' are what everyone should have a problem with because there's obviously more to the story. Daniel Bryan is being screwed.
There goes any hope I had for Bryan vs. Undertaker. I won't miss him since he's been gone for near two years as it is, and you could kind of see this coming. A pity his career seems to have ended so abruptly but your health should always come first. I imagine it'll take him some time to come to terms with it.
That spot is Jimmy Haitch hitting Bryan's arm since he had an injured shoulder, and he was working it over. That's why he sets him up like that.

Exactly. They also don't want another Benoit situation on their hands. I'm actually glad that the WWE seems to be taking a better safe than sorry approach here. All the premature deaths were a big reason I stopped watching wrestling for so long. It was depressing to see so many people die so young.

Why is it so hard for you guys to believe there's something fishy going on here? Whether it's due to Roman or other creative reasons is irrelevant. Here' the facts: Daniel Bryan got medically cleared by multiple legit and elite doctors not some vegan alternative acupuncture doctors but rather the best of the best. Another fact: Daniel Bryan gave notice to WWE but WWE refused his notice and will not let him leave. Piecing those things together and remembering Mysterio and other situations why is it so hard to believe? Stop acting like I'm talking nonsense like im saying pie in the sky marky shit.

Nothing whatsoever to do with the performer's health here, they're trying to protect themselves from any more potential lawsuits. If even one person successfully sues them over concussion related issues, it opens the floodgates for hundreds of others to do so and would cost WWE enormous amounts of their money in record time.

Truly unfortunate. I watched this man wrestle in gyms full of 30 people. I saw him at every RoH show that came through here. I made a sign from a post on his MySpace about his dogs that said "I have till 5!...to hug these dogs!" and took it to a show and held it up whenever he said he had til 5, where I then got the crowd around me to shout "To hug these dogs!" in unison. He ate it up. I went to the merch table later to get him to sign it and he loved it and was like "You almost screwed up my match cause I was trying not to laugh!"
I haven't watched wrestling in...fuck, years now. And I absolutely loathe WWE for taking someone that I absolutely would follow anywhere and wasting him so badly that it was the last straw of their complete decimation of any indie wrestler I liked that got me to stop watching them. I helped this guy break down rings at shows he had to wrestle Local McBoring-Guy and give that man the best match of his career.
I'd say I'm really going to miss him but I've really missed him for a very long time.

Most of the time the people calling out gimmick posters are thin-skinned posters who can't handle differences of opinions. Just take it all at face value, and it makes more sense. A person is really upset that Bryan is retiring and is going with a conspiracy theory? It's probably because he believes it, even if it is crazy. A person is happy that Bryan is retiring? It's probably because he is. There are folks on here who would be happy if Roman Reigns retired tomorrow because they don't like the guy. These are the childish tendencies of the internet in general, and not exclusive to wrasslin' fans, so you just have to go with the flow.
