Sorry, what? You find dogged and overly incessant pragmatism/realism/cynicism more aggravating than diet racism? We literally just had a poster say minorities don't live for Bernie because they're ignorant.

How do these two compare?

Yeah, no denying there are morons on both sides, but the Shoe-in crowd really just does drive by commenting to wind up Bernie Bro gears. It's funny either way. If you ignore the extremists on both sides I'd say I like the thinking of the people on Bernie's side way more. You might call it more realistic but I don't see anything wrong in hoping, again, an outsiders point of view, Bernie just seems more honest and likable than Hilary.

And maybe that will drive young voters to finally show up for Midterms and get rid of these hacks in Congress that vote against everything out of spite. That's one of the biggest reasons I support Sanders. He's willing to eat 2 years of failure to achieve if it means putting the stubborn and ineffective Republicans (and some Democrats) in the spotlight.

When he talks about a political revolution, it isn't just putting a liberal\progressive in the White House, it's making changes at every level of Government to adhere to the interests of the people. I would be fine with Hillary in office, but she's going to concede ground to the Republicans in congress just to give the illusion of being bipartisan and a great negotiator. You know what bipartisan has meant since the 80's? Republicans getting 80% of what they want while Democrats try and explain why the 20% they got isn't such a shit deal.

I'm tired of that crap. If we have to suffer through 2 years of Republican stonewalling a Sanders administration, but can get a huge turnout for the 2018 midterms to dethrone a ton of these relics with crap voting records, I'm all for it.

I like your optimism, but I think there's a lot of fear that young Sanders voters would just be disillusioned by him not accomplishing much his first two years enough to still not turn out for mid-terms. A repeat of 2008-2010 Obama backlash, imo

You act like Clinton being a corporate shill isn't a known thing? Wow you really trapped me there!

To the 2nd part of your post:

And there it is.

Yes, it is. We all know it.

And yet, either of them won't be able to change the system. So... Nice to know he isn't bought, I guess? Neither of them can fundamentally change the system.

Now what?

Liberal and young voters sit out the midterms. A lot of Bernie's base wouldn't show up in 2018. So what you're saying is, you'd put up with two years of Bernie getting nothing done for another two years where he continues getting blocked.

If thats your attitude then you should vote for the policies you want, not talk about how they are "too hard to pass". Great attitude. Nothing will change with that line of thinking.

bernie should come out and say this

"as FDR put it, the establishment are unanimous in their hate for me ,and I welcome their hatred!"

Neither Sanders nor Clinton are Obama. Neither is as motivating.

He's a once in a generation candidate/president for sure... maybe once in a lifetime. He was so charismatic and inspiring that he not only became the first racial minority to become president, he dominated both elections. It really makes this election feel a lot more empty by comparison.

I don't know about you guys but, as a Canadian, I find the "Clinton's a shoe - in" crowd way more aggravating than the "Bernie Bros" crowd.

I hope Bernie wins! America could use someone like him.

Seriously. The Clinton supporters who come by to shitpost on practically every page in these threads about 'how Sanders has no chance and Hillary is more realistic and pragmatic' is really kind of insufferable.

I mean, god forbid that people be actually mildly happy for one evening that a politician like Sanders won a presidential primary in the United States. We should instead probably want more years of always-moving-right Democratic Party and be content with that.

I can promise free blowjobs, a $25 minimum wage, free health care, and 3 months of paid time off from work per year. Would it make your life better? Sure. Does it have a chance of happening? No, it's fantasy just like Bernie's plan.

The key is negotiation. How about a $25 dollar blowjob, every 3 months, at the doctor's office?

I suspect the fact that she will be the first female nominee for president for either party makes her perspective sort of fresh no matter if her last name is Clinton or not.

Shes been involved in politics for almost 25 years... There is nothing fresh about her. Being a female means nothing nor should it mean anything.

If there were a way for people to insinuate that Clinton doesn't count as a woman or represent them well without looking openly sexist or ignorant of her history with women's issues, many GAFfers would post more.
