Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I'm thinking about something...

That spanish magazine said that we will see one character/month until september, right?

Well, Capcom said that we will see 6 characters this year. But if they launch every char until september, we will have at least 4 months to build it up fight money to buy the next characters in 2017.

So, it is possible that

a) that magazine got it wrong;
b) capcom will release more than 6 characters this year.

For a business perspective, it makes sense to release one character per month, so the players won't have time to earn enough FIght Money and get the characters from free. I mean it, MOBAs have new characters each 3-4 weeks.

Ok, I guess that MOBAs characters are easier to develop, but I think this time frame is more about marketing thant development time.

So, are we gonna see more characters this year? ;-)

There's other avenues to spend fight money than characters. They could very well focus on new stages/cosmetics/music/announcer packs etc. from october to december.

Did they ever say they wouldn't release more than these six this year?

Doubtful. Capcom Cup is at the end of this year and if this 1 per month thing is true then I gather they'll want all the DLC characters out by then for people to get used to and main by the time CC comes around. We'd probably get news on Wave 2 at CC if this was the case.

The datamine pointed to 7 empty character slots currently in the game, so a 7th bonus character a la Omen/Shadow Jago in KI isn't out of the question.

He hasn't been in a game for a little while. You can expect similar responses to the Rufus DLC in SF6.

"Remember those hype match ups between JWong and Daigo? That kind of stuff is what SF6 is missing, and what SFV was missing as well. We need Rufus back for the hype"

"SPECTACLE ROMANCE

GOODBYE!"

"I hope they don't change his design too much, just give us classic Rufus"

The problem there is that he's still Rufus. Fat or not he's a terrible character.

I love Rufus.

I really like the juxtaposition of him being a 500 pounds idiot who's training is pretty much watching Chinese action movies and yet he's actually nimble and agile as fuck.

I mean if he'd shed the pounds and get some actual training that motherfucker would shit all over the twins :D

Then you've taken the only thing interesting about him away.

It's far from the only interesting thing about him.

What if he was the original, black rufus

what about his winning personality, or his hilarious jokes?

Kappa

really, this again?

Queue someone posting a his lame ass character design.

I like Rufus tho, but he's no Alex. That said, Titanoboa is a joke poster. I get it.

Joking aside, for myself, I still think Hakan is #1 best newcomer for Street Fighter 4 series tho. I know there are some people that don't like his design because his design was freaky weird but that's what made him Street Fighter character to me.

100% in agreement, and he would be perfect in the V system

That's a misconception I thought. He did train with somebody, or maybe he just travelled the land and kept what worked and jettisoned what didn't. The American Ryu
