so, is there weather effects and other stage finishers besides the nes at the china stage, like capcom said it would
Capcom never said there would be weather effects.

Those 3S figures look pretty boss. He's probably going to look like this, since this design differs from 3s and that's probably for a reason:
It's the Pop Culture Shock figure from a time we now know SFV was already in a planning phase.
loli'm really excited for the Alex reveal, especially with how Cacpcom will do it based on past history
1) 2 minute video that shows maybe half the skillset
2) Blog post that only details v-skill, reversal and super
3) Nothing happens for a month and they won't give us a movelist
4) Random video of two 8 year olds playing Alex at some tournament in France
5) Find their British accountant, put together an awful clip of the character, have British accountant read the script and tell us some useless strategy. Video will be 2 minutes long and only 45 seconds of actual content.
He is very much a mobile fortress with high stun value, big health, great non-grab specials and great normals. He has cr.HP, f.HP, f.MP, st.MP and Air Knee Smash for AA purposes. Unfortunately his AKS can be parried in the air, so it doesn't get much use. His lp flash chop special can be combo'd into, his HP version can be followed by up different specials and even his super arts. Unfortunately for opponents it doesn't stop there. His slash elbow has different strength versions that reach all lengths of the stage. All non-EX versions of his slash elbow can be cancelled into Boomerang Raid and his EX version is stupid fast. He can be right next to you in a split second regardless of distance which is something most grapplers can't do. One of his best specials is probably his Air Stampede where he jumps high over fixed distances. Now only does it cross up, but his EX version can punish someone from across the stage. Despite being a grappler he plays more like a high stun rush character. It shows in his powerbomb/backdrop/spiral DDT command grab specials and his hyper bomb super. All of his command grabs are slow enough to be stuffed, there are no EX versions and his spiral DDT can be nullified entirely by crouching, but his grabs do have good stun value. His hyper bomb (360 grab super) has no start up problems, but you can just jump out of it once you see the super flash which makes it a rarely used Super Art. Boomerang Raid is his most used super, but in 3S it doesn't cover much horizontal distance, so you usually have to combo into to get full damage (which isn't particularly high compared to other SAs in the game). If his only negatives were grab related he'd be great, but he has few combos and fewer ways to combo into his Boomerang Raid Super Art.Can someone please explain to me the hype behind Alex? Is there something mechanically about him that makes him superior to other grapplers? Honest question![]()
No lolHe hasn't been in a game for a little while. You can expect similar responses to the Rufus DLC in SF6.
Sounds like Jon Talbain's climb razor special. I could live with that.I don't think alex is gonna have charge moves this time around.
Makoto had better be season 2 DLC.I'm not fond of those big muscly characters. Where's my Makoto, C. Viper, Sean and Poison.
on the subject of sean, one of the reasons I wannna see him comeback is because in 3 he just had a copied body of ken and ryu. When it seemed like as the art went on, espically in the case of your avatar, he wasn't supposed to be the same size as ken and ryu he was supposed to be skinner and smaller. So hopefully they go with that and make him a younger in that regard.I'm not fond of those big muscly characters. Where's my Makoto, C. Viper, Sean and Poison.

Halfway through the character stories and having a blast with this. I didn't play much IV and I'm pretty much the definition of casual, but this just feels like such a tight package. I miss Akuma though, used to play him whenever I did load up IV.
I've just read on Twitter someone saying that you need 1500 online victory to unlock a character (well to have enough fight money). Is that true? What is the source of that? I asked him but he didn't answer yet. If that's true it's kinda a lot... 1500 victories in ranked matches can take a while. ^^"

That seems to be the math based on the amount of Fight Money won per match in the beta and a character costing 100K Fight Money. We're not sure exactly how it's going to pan out, but there are other ways to earn Fight Money within the game!

I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of upset people when they find out how much you have to go through to unlock characters for free.
I'm ready to go through, well, 10/20 hours of playing to unlock character but anyways it will depends on people skills.
Can someone please explain to me the hype behind Alex? Is there something mechanically about him that makes him superior to other grapplers? Honest question![]()

I'll be surprised if you can unlock one in 20 hours of play, sounds way too reasonable.
I don't think all characters will be obtainable for free by playing consistently. Only the extreme hardcore will have enough money for all characters. I assume you use the fight money for characters you actually want. So out of the 6 characters maybe you only like 3 of those and it should be easy enough to have enough fight money for half the DLC. All the DLC will obviously take some real grinding.

How long does each character story take? I'm considering going through them all twice to have some fight money on both the PS4 and PC version.
Can you continuously net Fight Money by playing through single player modes several times, or do you only get Fight Money on your first playthrough of each story?
Can you continuously net Fight Money by playing through single player modes several times, or do you only get Fight Money on your first playthrough of each story? I don't play online very often, so hopefully I'm not fucked out of "free" DLC for preferring the offline modes.

Likely a one-time purse for the stories. The daily challenges that will start up alongside the store launch may be CPU-based challenges though rather than daily goals against other players (sort of like set daily configurations of survival mode challenges).

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they ripped off Hearthstone, honestly.
I hope modders try to make the background characters on PC 60fps first thing when the game is out. Or at least remove them, that would work too.
