Canadian Gaming "Deals" and Discussion Thread 6: Sorry, We Can't Afford a New Thread

So am I reading it that they will release the new Harry Potter book then afterwards release a collectors edition of the same book?

Wondering if I should just wait.

Basically the second edition will be a definite version. The first release is the script as is. The definite version will have adjustments made to it, as changes get made to the script during the play.

looked at a target.com link and this showed up

Was going to test how much a video game would cost for a Canadian to order from Target.com:

Items: USD 39.99
Shipping: USD 37.98
Duties & Taxes: USD 5.20
Order Total: USD 83.17

Uhm, I'll just stick to Canadian retailers.

Damn, are they charging someone to run it up to the border in their own vehicle?

Fuck, missed out on Fire Emblem again. :(

call them? I would've contacted them by the 5th at latest if I didn't get my package

I completely forgot it shipped until I was clearing out my emails earlier today.

Yeah, I called them. They created a service ticket and will let me know in a few days. :/

$75 PS4, OK. $65 Vita-- UHHH Please tell me this is some special edition. If this is just a first print, then damn.

I'm assuming it is, since the screenshot of the boxart says Endless Summer Edition. I think the last one was $60, so this isn't too bad. Hopefully it'll drop like the last one (was $40 for a long time before it finally sold out).

Shinovi Versus: Let's Get Physical Edition was $50 in both the US and Canada back in the good ol' days.

I don't get why Ace is so popular. He was there for maybe 3-4 volumes. Without spoiling too much, he's just not that deep of a character.

Sabo on the other hand, seems more interesting

At least you got to witness it being in stock. Some people aren't even that lucky.

I'm just curious about the pricing model for Fire Emblem.
From what I understand Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition has:
- Birthright
- Conquest
- Revelation (about a month early)
- Bonus art book
All for $99.99.

Whereas if I were to just buy one of Birthright or Conquest then buy the DLC the cost would be (according to the DLC chart: http://fireemblemfates.nintendo.com/dlc/):
- Birthright - $49.99
- Conquest DLC - $24.99
- Revelation DLC - $24.99 (in mid-March)
All for $99.97.

So in theory if I didn't care at all about the art book or about using space on the SD card it's pretty much the same deal if I were just to buy them as I beat them (which let's be honest, these games will probably take me a month or 2 to beat).

Is this correct?

I missed this, but is EB Canada doing the mythical pokemon promo? Do you have to go in and get a card like last time?

It's basically about having the game on cart more than anything else I suppose. Technically the game is cheaper on digital if you can find the eshop cards on sale.

Yes. Unless you're one of the tricky folks that fooled Amazon CS into giving you 30% off on the SE.

LOL, every fucking time.

pretty much never worth it to order off american websites, even if the price seems way lower than the canadian price.
