Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

A question for the full version:
Is the abysmal tutorial everything that's in the game to teach you anything? Like...did they learn anything from past releases, that games can actually have good tutorials and fighting games especially need them? I feel like people have been saying this for years and if that intro from the beta is everything they have, then wow, they dropped the ball on that one.

They're adding character tips next month. The tutorial is all there is for launch.

Sorry, maybe it's off topic but how will it be possible to communicate between PS4 and PC players? A kind of voice chat will be avalaible? Or automatic sentences that you can select with your controller, like "good game!" "another one?" etc etc?

Sorry I didn't play the beta (well 20 minutes only, so...), so I dunno if this is already known.

There is a chat in the lobbies I think?

Not sure you can? I couldn't figure it out anyway. You could follow and "favorite" PC players and see their replays/stats etc but you couldn't do much else in the beta.

Sucks because generally against PS4 players I'd message them after on a great game and get favorable responses back and made a couple of new PSN friends from doing that.

But are they Twitch chat approved messages like the Kappa, Gootecks and Jebailey Faces?

What about Valle though, that hot new shit.

Just a heads up: You only earn FM if you're connected to the net, if you are NOT connected, you may need to replay whichever mode you played to get FM
For example I played Ryu's story mode offline yesterday and didn't get any FM for it.
But when I replayed his final chapter for example, I got 2000 FM

LOL @ all of Ono's Season 2 trolling right now.... it's almost as if data mining has kept him for being able to troll for half a year now or something... :P

If season 2 cast in mined... it has to be on purpose. They put those alt story costumes in the beta just saying "hey look at me".

Preload finished downloading on my ps4.
Both themes are too, but i not have the chun li dlc in my downloadlist.
Anyone else has it, or does it come up later ?

This is going to review badly for no content, but the game play is sublime. I would argue that this should be a $30-$40 game based on lack of content.

I'd be surprised if the game goes over 8 and under 6 in terms of reviews. I think it'll be higher than SF4, seeing as there are some genuine improvments, but the lack of content for casuals will hurt it. The only pluses I can see picking up after the negatives is the fact that there'll be updates very soon. Even then though, review day is going to be rough.

I think it'll be a shame if this gets torn apart because the base gameplay is so fun, which to me for a game like this is the most important bit. It just feels so nice and satisfying to play.

I'm kinda worried about the netcode, tbh. Some things I've seen/heard have been worrysome.

While this is true, you can't ignore that some aspects should be there. I'm talking about 8 player lobbies, spectating mode, in-game shop, using the costumes we unlock ect. These things should be there day one but they're not. We might be able to find enjoyment over what's there but a lot of casuals are going to be left with a fairly barebones game. The game is going to be bashed for that and rightfully so.

Well damn seems FM gets reset almost everyday, meaning early adopters should avoid doing the offline stuff for FM until after the game's release.
Not a big issue for me since i DIDn't do much and thankfully Story mode is short.
GOTTA Say though
Shadaloo and Dictator finally doing something since the Zero games is a nice breather

It will reset again on launch day, so it's fair for everyone.

Wait, you can't use the story mode costumes yet?

But SF4 reviewed amazingly well!?

Anyone else get this from Amazon:

" We recently learned there will be a delay receiving the product from the manufacturer that may prevent us from delivering "Street Fighter V - PlayStation 4 Standard Edition" by February 16. We're very sorry about this."

Guess lots of people took advantage of the Prime deal. May wind up canceling and putting credit towards the digital version.

I had a pre-order from like early 2015 that I canceled and reordered to get the new prime pre-order price. Kinda bummed that I'll apparently miss launch now.

it wont be fair if it really is resetting at 5PM GMT on Tuesday for UKers and europe, the game would be officially out for at least 17 hours and people would get wiped stats

Where did 5pm GMT come from?

Huh, didn't know that. I thought it did decent but not amazing, my mistake. I can see 70/80 metascore then

If that were the case then you'd be paying 10$ on March first and another 10$ in June to get the features still in the oven. That still adds up to 60$. Since this game is also a service there will never be a time where it's not evolving in some way.

If it bugs you that much though, buy it at the end of the year instead, the rest of us will play it for 10 moths and get our 60$ worth.

I don't agree about the last part, but it's definitely stupid that you have to buy them from the online shop haha

The Story Costumes are supposed to be Rewards for completing their hilariously brief still animations. But instead, they convoluted the process by not only making you buy them, but having to wait a month to buy them.
