Street Fighter V |OT| No Options to Select

I was disappointed last night because for some reason I thought this was unlocking at midnight tomorrow... then I checked the pre-order again and saw it actually unlocks tonight. HOORAY!

The apparent lack of single-player content is a bit lame, but I'm not that concerned since it's coming later. I read in a review that there's no basic Vs. CPU mode though? That seems like a really lazy exclusion.

It's obviously rushed, though. Most of the content people want is coming in a month. lol

Is it rushed if you plan to finish the core content first and release the other modes later?

Would it be better to sit on local vs and online and wait for single player to be done for 6 months?

Who is talking six months? There are a ton of modes coming out in March. At best, we're waiting a little over a month for trials, tutorials, extra battle mode, 8 player lobbies, and spectating.

A month.

They rushed this out the door for the fiscal year and because of the tournaments. So, yeah, even though I, personally, don't care about a lot of that stuff and will only play local vs and online, I think they should have waited a month to get that stuff in and get better review scores and better word of mouth for the product.

Looks like reviewers were generally aware that the game was releasing as a platform, and reviewed the game accordingly which is great. But man, people in the review thread are being negative as hell.

Can't believe Capcom didn't wait just a month to add the content or ateast throw in some manpower to speed up the development of the extra modes. That 1 month could have costed them better review scores and more casual buyers.

Three things:

1: Left my 360 stick at a friend's at the weekend, so I guess I am gonna have to use an xinput wrapper on my Venom until I get it back...
2. I would have appreciated Capcom telling us poor saps with jobs that the release was being moved up - I booked of Wednesday to play when apparently I should have started my holiday tomorrow...
3. I'm hearing about a 1.02 patch? Is it different to the original patch that was available last week on the patch servers on PSN, and if so how?

GG Xrd character designs are about a million times more creative about it.

I don't know about this "creative" part, looking at how XRD goes at even greater lengths shoving needless fanservice in your face. At least half of the time it's a common animé trope too... not that it makes SFV's any less tasteless.

Love posts like these. Street Fighter is life.

To date myself further.. lol.. got Street Fighter II on the SNES for my 11th birthday. My uncle and I played through the entire game, pausing the game on Guile's stage when we went out for dinner. Got back, beat Guile, but we were stuck at Vega. Never beat him that day :(

Is anyone else afraid that the PC version might be plagued with issues? I've been worried about PC versions with a couple of the launches lately (ie: Black Ops 3, Arkham Knight, etc..).

Unless I haven't done enough research and it's widely known that the PC version is going to be the version to get?

For all my PC fighters. Nvidia just put up a new driver for the release:

We've already played the beta on PC for months. It shouldn't have those crippling issues you mentioned.

I think there's a slight agenda being pushed by some, maybe because of negativity towards capcom and street fighter, maybe because of exclusivity. But some of the complaints are so weird. Wait a month and buy it if you want cpu vs, like this is some deal breaker mode.

They've been testing PC alongside PS4 with the betas for months and there hasn't been significant differences between the two AFAIK. Or at least, PC isn't worse than PS4

SO much going on today...Street Fighter V pre-launch, Punisher trailer, Star Wars Episode VIII footage and announcement....hot damn!

I didn't know about the last two. Sweet

It was fine during the betas!

Patch 1.02 really? Haven't seen no posts about this.

Eh, I'm not gonna lie: SF5 is definitely bare-bones to me. I'm still really excited to play it because its SF, yet I greatly wish the starting roster had another 10 characters. I hope Capcom releases one massive update for season 2, I don't want to only be able to play the full roster near the end of the game's life.

He said the designs were more creative. I don't think you can really argue that character's design is generic.

But yeah the fanservice is often forced and in your face.

GG Xrd character designs are about a million times more creative about it.

Some are sexy, sure, but overall it's very different from a character like Laura, whose design begins and ends with dude at Capcom going 'You guys like boobies, right???'.

GG designs in general are a lot wackier than SF. They're different games with different styles.

But, boobs are boobs.

Trying to justify GG boobs over SF boobs simply because GG is weirder is silly.

Either they're both okay or they're both suspect.

"The character designs are more creative about it," the 'it' referring to the fanservice.

Otherwise I'd agree, even if XRD is a step back from the older Guilty Gears.

To be fair, that wasn't adjusted until this morning. They worked hard with Steam after the community asked for a midnight unlock.

You shouldn't be penalizing them for this. You still have off all Wednesday...

I only play fighting games for single player stuff. I don't like online much, because everyone is always better than me and I don't have the time or skill to improve.

Then buy the game when the single player stuff comes out.

The core game and online was ready for the folks who want to compete. They had to make it fit the schedule of the big events like Final Round, EVO, etc.

It doesn't have what you want yet. So wait. You can probably get it cheaper anyway.

Why would you take off Wednesday instead of Tuesday in either case?
