huh and you prefer this to a normal stick layout? never seen anything like that outside of the Miku dance game controllers, pretty cool.

Here be my stick. The buttons are special ones that use cherry switches, the kind that're used for mechanical keyboards. I went with green switches, the stiffest, clickiest ones available, and I love them to death.
 
Watching the Digital Foundry videos for SFV & in the name of everything that is holy, PC warriors, please make sure you're playing at a consistent 60 frames per second.

My girlfriend would probably kill me if I had anything like that. Playing Smash on a Gamecube controller gets her a bit annoyed! :(

Hard to say. One thing you can do is try playing on a keyboard and set up the layout to work kind of like that layout (basically set Up to be on Spacebar) and play around with it. Personally I find it the most fun way to play, don't use any of my other devices anymore. Particularly good for charge characters.

Yeah I should try the layout on a keyboard one day to try it out.
I have a friend who built his own hitbox, sadly he's a lefty so he inverted all the buttons, and I couldn't really get a feel for it. ^^

Heh I'm thinking this thing will last me for the duration of SFV. It's definitely the best video game purchase I made in that generation.

I mean, they're actually less noisy than the buttons the stick came with, because there's no plastic-hitting-plastic going on. Get a few with less clicky switches, maybe put some rubber sound dampening rings on them, yer silent.

Well first of all, that example is terrible. GTA V is a 50+ hour single player game with insane production values. GTA V's online mode wasn't even revealed until the last few months prior to launch, people were plenty prepared for an SP-only game for their $60. When GTA online did launch, it was just a few weeks later and it sucked.

Capcom has stated numerous times that they are trying to grow a larger player base, yet they don't offer an arcade or vs cpu mode, or a much-needed in-depth tutorial mode ala Skullgirl's (which was a $15 indie game made by a tiny team). These are very important features for getting new players and keeping them. People bitched about a lack of story mode in SFIV, now we don't even have as many features as SFIV has. You or I might be content with what's here at launch, but average joe is going to feel mighty burned. How many Steam users will ask for refunds? How many console players will have dropped the game and moved on by the time the features we need are implemented?

They say they want to grow the community, but this package is clearly for the hardcore-only, as it stands. Now, me? I'm buying it for the same reasons I was fine with an MP-only Battlefield 4 experience. But shooters are already a far more popular genre. If Street Fighter wants to get that mainstream it needs to consider what mainstream wants. A lot of people play Halo and CoD just for the campaigns. By the time SFV's "campaign" drops, it's going to be too little, too late. Reviews don't update. Look at Driveclub: crap at launch, fantastic now. But does that even matter? The metacritic score will always be 71.

I just don't think a lot of people will think this package justifies $60, even with the promise of what's to come.

Yeah, was only my second stick but still love it. Just replaced the joystick last week in preparation for V. My own fault that it broke btw, sometimes rage gets the better of me. Replacing the stick was cool though, even though the design of the TE makes it really easy.

Not my pic but this is what I'll be using. Bought it back in the day for $80 on sale because I injured my thumb using Blanka (traditional pad player here). Never really took the time to learn using it until recently. Now it feels very natural.

PC obviously.

Quite a bit yeah. Muscle memory wise my brain definitely finds buttons more intuitive, and it's nice to have guaranteed consistency in directional inputs. As mentioned I think it is particularly good for charge characters; stuff like Guile's Super cancel off Flash Kick is kind of tricky to learn on a joystick but pretty trivial on a Hitbox.

From my collection of sticks, this is the one i'll use for SFV. Old Joystick and buttons replaced with brand new for the occasion.

Only a few more hours now..

Dude! Fucking amazing. I thought the cake I was having made for my wife on Saturday was going to be cool. After seeing this I feel like I gotta step up my game.

This day is taking fooooooorever.
 
I don't know what's going on with Amazon. But I just cancelled my preorder, went to a game store and picked up a copy. Installing right now!

I would've if it wasn't the same price as the Venom here in the UK. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I'd rather buy the one I can make my own. I could see it getting uncomfortable after a while after watching some people use it on a french twitch stream.
