It's my birthday on the 16th of February and my other half has made me a SF5 birthday cake. She's awesome. =)
Legit thought that was an actual stick at a glance before reading your post haha. That's freakin' awesome.

As for my stick, just a stock HRAP V Hayabusa for me. Someday I'll get around to doing a little personalization.

Isn't that the stick that DOESN'T work on PC because of the PCB they used? My friend has one and his doesn't work on PC.

It does work on a particular set of USB 3 ports on my PC. It won't work on other ports. I think its got to do with the different chipsets used for the USB ports.

If it doesn't work on a particular USB port, try different USB ports on your PC. If it doesn't work on any of them, you may need to get a USB expansion card. Google around to see which ones will work with the stick. I'm on Windows 10 and its working fine on it.

I wonder how the Xbox One Elite controller will fair for this. I also have a Hitbox pad in my closet, but I never got good with that.

I used SF2 to test the quality of the Elite's (cross shaped) dpad, and it worked very well, so if you're gonna play on a pad, that one is probably one of the better ones.

Just over an hour left. Thinking of what Fighter ID name I should pick. Needs to be memorable as this will be used for the next half a decade

I would've if it wasn't the same price as the Venom here in the UK. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I'd rather buy the one I can make my own. I could see it getting uncomfortable after a while after watching some people use it on a french twitch stream.

its probably not ideal for lap play. decent so far when playing on a table. good enough for me in terms of being a casual online warrior.

Well first of all, that example is terrible. GTA V is a 50+ hour single player game with insane production values. GTA V's online mode wasn't even revealed until the last few months prior to launch, people were plenty prepared for an SP-only game for their $60. When GTA online did launch, it was just a few weeks later and it sucked.

Capcom has stated numerous times that they are trying to grow a larger player base, yet they don't offer an arcade or vs cpu mode, or a much-needed in-depth tutorial mode ala Skullgirl's (which was a $15 indie game made by a tiny team). These are very important features for getting new players and keeping them. People bitched about a lack of story mode in SFIV, now we don't even have as many features as SFIV has. You or I might be content with what's here at launch, but average joe is going to feel mighty burned. How many Steam users will ask for refunds? How many console players will have dropped the game and moved on by the time the features we need are implemented?

They say they want to grow the community, but this package is clearly for the hardcore-only, as it stands. Now, me? I'm buying it for the same reasons I was fine with an MP-only Battlefield 4 experience. But shooters are already a far more popular genre. If Street Fighter wants to get that mainstream it needs to consider what mainstream wants. A lot of people play Halo and CoD just for the campaigns. By the time SFV's "campaign" drops, it's going to be too little, too late. Reviews don't update. Look at Driveclub: crap at launch, fantastic now. But does that even matter? The metacritic score will always be 71.

I just don't think a lot of people will think this package justifies $60, even with the promise of what's to come.

Street Fighter V's online mode has thousands of hours of content as opposed to that 50 hour GTA offline content.

Cinematic story mode was just revealed for SFV about a month ago.

Most of the missing content for SFV is launching a few weeks after launch too.

They don't have to grow the player base on a single day or single month... they're planning on supporting this game for years down the road. League of Legends didn't get all their player base in the first month... pretty sure DOTA 2 didn't either. They put the FGC in the commercials for a reason... they're making a community driven game. The whole tagline is "Rise Up"... it's about bettering yourself. You're not going to get gud mashing against CPU characters.

It's fine if that's not for you... but it's certainly not the kiss of death for this game.

On Steam I believe it's simultaneous worldwide release, no VPN shenanigans needed.

Actually:

Great news, Street Fighter fans!

We're happy to confirm that the release date & time for Street Fighter V has been moved up per the revised schedule below.

Europe........Feb. 16 @0:00AM UK (UTC+00:00)
AUS/NZ.......Feb. 16 @11:00AM Sydney (UTC+10:00)
Americas.....Feb. 16 @0:00AM EST (Feb. 15@9:00PM PST)
Asia.............Feb. 17 @2:00AM JST (UTC+09:00)

EDIT: added UTC time zone for extra clarity.

I might have to go digital for this. For some reason stores here in Peru don't have the game yet, most definitely a problem with customs.

It's not worldwide same time release for PC anymore thought, right? The first unlock time looks to be EU, in about 30 more minutes or so.

Hoping a VPN will work.

If I had a proper setup with a computer desk yeah it probably wound be cool. Using a small stick on a couch isn't really ideal. I'm super casual though so I'd get bopped either way lol

I'd really like to get good in 5 or should I say competent.

not shame in getting bopped. fighting games especially are minefields with all the tournament players you run into lol

Steam still says 19 hours from now!?

Ignore that. The time they posted is the steam release.

Ono has uploaded a new video for the launch of SFV. He keeps saying that content will be added for the future and he wants feedback.

Feedback you say well here goes

Versus CPU
Team Versus 3vs3 (online ranking for Team Versus is seperate, can play with all 3 characters yourself or team up with someone else)
Filter matchups for online non ranked battles
Frame data in Training mode
Gallery Mode (View Character models, art, endings, music and etc)
Rankings are based on per character, if your Ken is on Gold Cup and you switch to Birdie you gotta start from Bronze with Birdie
New stages including remade classic stages
Classic music released, can assign characters to whatever background music you want.
Instead of a big spashscreen in the menu, random videos of popular matches or training tips should play.
I love all these improvements! I doubt we'll get the frame data because of some shady deal though.

Team Vs is one of those things that I wouldn't even think of but would be super fun, especially with GAF.

It's all part of the fun and the learning experience. I get pretty hype in 4 when I nearly beat someone and I only really got into Ultra the last couple of months.

My arcade stick, excited to use it for an actual fighting game

Totally off topic, but I use portrait mode for some games too but I'm having problems with screen-tearing. For some games it's really bad; Downwell is unplayable. Tried messing with v-sync in the NVIDIA control panel, no visible changes. Would you know what the problem is?

So Amazon finally woke up to tell me this...

Hello,

We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on February 10, 2016

"Street Fighter V - PlayStation 4 Standard Edition"
Estimated arrival date: February 18, 2016

Welp, I still have some backlog to do so this is fine...

Have they explained what happened? Pretty shitty launch of their pre-order deal with Prime. What the hell use is it if you don't get the game.
