I'd say I'm a pretty good player - just as a warning - anyone up for running some matches in a lounge? Was finally able to make one.

What country/timezone are you in?

I am in Norway so Central European Time line.

I dont mind as i want to learn from good players.

How do you invite friends, the lounge is not working for me.

Somehow I forgot how to Ryu and instead feel leagues more confident playing Bison.

Salty that battle lounges aren't working, been playing local vs but I'd like to play against some of my other friends but can't. The few times I get past the 'failed to make a lounge' bit, no one gets my invites and can't search for the game manually because nothing comes up. Hope that gets fixed soon.

How do you define what that is though? Programming such an in-game tutorial is a very daunting task and much easier shown with videos with people playing and explaining. There's way too much information to convey. KI had a very detailed tutorials and it barely scratched the surface.

A Capcom video tutorial series would be way more effective and efficient.

A video tutorial series would just be another outside source that people buying and playing the game wouldn't care to find. It needs to be in the game.

What a proper Tutorial should do is be able to SIMPLIFY what's going on. That's the problem, really. There are tons of 'how the fuck do I do that?' mechanics and terms that are simply not defined by the games they are in. The community doesn't do much to remedy this during Tournaments, either. It's very insular and you're expected to know everything that's going on. If you don't, it sounds like rocket science.

While I hope the rumored in depth character training modes next month are great...the bottom line is that if you want to get good at fightng games (or anything really), you will need to put in time to do so. Someone can teach you all of the tricks and tools and you still will spend a good chunk of the time feeling overwhelmed and losing a lot. That is just a part of the process. And many just won't be able to get passed that no matter what..and that's ok. I have accepted that I will probably never be good at fighting games. I lack the time and general motivation to do so. No in depth training mode will change that.

It's one thing to learn the tricks and tools available to you, it's another when the game itself doesn't even tell you what's possible. That's inexcusable.

Digging the season pass ps4 theme, but whoever decided on yellow text on a cream/white background can't be very good at their job.

So it's pretty clear they want people to pay for the season pass, no surprise. So that would be $90 for the same amount of content that probably should be in the $60 package. And while you can earn most of that content for free, you have to do some really un-fun things to do it. A lot.

The value of something is pretty relative. I'm sure plenty of people are content with how things are because that's all they cared about. But I'm pretty sure they are the minority. There's a lot of people blaming the consumer for dissatisfaction with the product. When this many people are upset, though, i think it's safe to say the product and the company who made it are at fault.

How can SF V and MK X both offer $60 worth of content? Even with SFV's revealed roadmap the two don't compare. The only thing SF V has over MK X is better gameplay, but that doesn't excuse the sorry package.

And please understand, I'm not talking about server problems. This game needed another 6 months, maybe even a year. This is corporate greed taking advantage of its fandom. They could have let USFIV ride another year on the circuit and at Evo, but they muscled out USFIV and rushed out SFV to kickstart a new revenue stream, knowing the fandom and brand-awareness would be enough to sell copies. I bought it, too. That hype train is power. I'm going to play, and I'm going to have fun. But I'm not satisfied and I'm not going to be an apologist. I like Street Fighter and unfortunately I'll have to settle.

If you actually feel they're taking advantage of the customer and you're still buying it you're as much of the problem as they are.

Also funny how playing the game constitutes doing a lot of unfun things.

I guarantee if they took out Survival Mode, and put in Arcade Mode instead that people would be begging for Survival Mode.

Something I've learned from this whole experience...every mode has its fans.

There would be some complaints, but an arcade mode is far more common and expected than survival. If they could only do one for the launch game, they chose the wrong one.

It could teach you the basics of the engine, like KI's does, but an in-game tutorial will never, ever convey all of the concepts you need to know to wrap it all together properly, so that someone starting off is not at a loss.

Have you checked out KI's dojo mode? I'm curious what you might think about it. It's generally regarded as very good, but there's still so much in terms of concepts it can't convey. Even after going through it, you can't just jump online and know what you're doing.

Even something like a fundamentals tutorial in-game is going to be prohibitively difficult to make. If you ask those who have been playing fighters for a long time and consider themselves competent, I'd bet they would say that trying to cover everything in an in-game tutorial is almost an impossible task. I just don't think peoples' expectations are aligned with reality of making such a mode, honestly.

It would have been really trivial to have created an Arcade mode by padding out Story Mode with extra (non-story) battles and adding a difficulty setting. I'm surprised Capcom didn't realize that reviewers/customers would miss it.

Any difficulty options for the single player??

Only in training mode.

Capcom should unify survival in one mode and improve the AI.

The AI goes up in difficulty after ~25 matches and probably again at some point thereafter. Don't know the entire set of break points, as I haven't played "Hell" (100 match) survival.

"What game has a good training tutorial? Capcom should still attempt a decent one. But not something like GG XRD, that one is awful."

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution

Still untouched, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for the answers! Haven't played it so I was honestly curious. I've never come across one I liked. Should try it out one of these days.

Just saw the Chun alt in game. Kreygasm

Wish I had it. Hopefully we'll be able to purchase all of the costumes sooner than later.

Which one you got? I had no trouble using Chun-Li, she was there to select.

I`m in and the game is working just fine. A few hours without a disconnect.

Ryu, I redeemed the code on web Store, on PS4 Library doesn't say nothing about 1 add-on for the game.
Maybe it's because I haven't updated the game yet?

Can you see the add on on your Library?

Just got the game. I get discouraged quickly in fighters because of lack of time on my part to dedicate to one game for so long. We'll see how long I last. Bet I trade it in for Far Cry by next week lol

Invite sent, tell me if you have any issues connecting. Things were still a bit wonky last night and I've yet to be able to successfully invite someone and have them join my room.

Edit : My individual lounge died, remade and sent out 2 more invites.

I remember asking Seth Kil in some Q+A for SFxT when it was coming out about ingame tutorials, and he mentioned something about there being a lot of training mode patents held by other publishers that restricted the kinds of things Capcom could do. Is that still true now?

Can someone help me please.

When I start x360ce_x64 I get this error

what do?

So is everyone going to spend a big chunk of their fight money on Alex? I plan on skipping him and buying Balrog for sure and then picking between Ibuki and Urien. If somehow I earn 300k FM before March then I will consider Alex.

I'm gonna spend it on Alex, to get that feel for buying stuff. And then I'm gonna have 100k for Juri when she becomes available. Ibuki would be a bonus.

Still can't believe CFN isn't email based.... just a recipe for disaster..

No one complained about lack of "VS CPU" mode in previous SF games either...but they're complaining now. So, yeah. They'd complain now.

It was in 3S, IV and SFxTK, what SF game missed out on a basic feature it the age of forums except for V?

No, it doesn't show up there. Just fire up the game and pick Ryu, the costume will be there. Somehow my Chun-Li alt is listed on PS Services/Licenses, not Library, I just played the game and she was there.

I envy your Hot Ryu. ;)

Anyone know how to unlock the extra colors?

By playing the survival courses.

How do you configure buttons on PC? Are we forced to use a 360 controller for the moment? When I try to configure keyboard it still shows 360 icons.

Certainly has been asked before, but the thread is huge so I apologize in advance.

Any way to get the Chun Li costume without digitally preordering? Got the Ryu one with my steelbox but I can't even find Chun li codes on ebay :(

Not right now. She was bundled in with digital versions, there was no separate code or anything. If you wanted her/all of them you would have needed to go digital then bum/buy codes for the other characters since those all came with physical versions. I can't imagine all of the pre-order outfits won't be up in the shop at some point later this year or something though.

they sure tried to make SF5 approachable for new players but they forgot the most important thing imo, a good training mode that at the very least teaches you some basic combos with characters. idk how to do shit with Mika :( I'll go on youtube later to learn some stuff
