so my friend just told me that Vega's story mode is like 3 one round fights?? Please don't tell me this stuff is true?

Not right now. She was bundled in with digital versions, there was no separate code or anything. If you wanted her/all of them you would have needed to go digital then bum/buy codes for the other characters since those all came with physical versions. I can't imagine all of the pre-order outfits won't be up in the shop at some point later this year or something though.

Yeah Capcom aren't going to leave that potential money go to waste, putting down zeny on long flowing hair battle cammy day 1 when it hits the shops.
 
No, it doesn't show up there. Just fire up the game and pick Ryu, the costume will be there. Somehow my Chun-Li alt is listed on PS Services/Licenses, not Library, I just played the game and she was there.

I timed how long Ken's story mode takes without skipping any cutscenes

5 minutes 42 seconds

If I didn't skip cutscenes it would've been like two

Well that sucks but I suppose a costume isn't a huge deal. If it shows up as DLC I'll be all over it though. Dat hair.
 
Any way to make a new CFN account? Maybe deleting the game off the HDD? I fucking missed one letter in my username lol. Thankfully i havent played that much.

I think it was technically a patent. I wonder how much it would cost a developer to properly license it to use the patent. I cannot imagine SEGA wanting to charge too much. SOOOO many games could benefit from a VF4 style training mode. We have Tekken, MK, SF, KI, Xrd, and several other games right now on the market.

They aren't doing anything with it right now.
 
Imagine this game has an arcade ladder when a boss that stomped on casuals like Seth did or worse like an SNK boss (remember how many people needed help to beat him in vanilla SFIV lol). Imagine they're about to win, imagine CFN serves spits the dummy and kicks them out of arcade mode.

would've been lolz.

It was in 3S, IV and SFxTK, what SF game missed out on a basic feature it the age of forums except for V?

Well 2 of the 3 games bombed and people complained heavely about other issues of those games, there's always something. For some odd reason even with a story people hated sfxtk arcade mode when Iloved that. People kept comparing it to MK9 and so even if this game had arcade mode there'd still be complaints, it just wouldn't end. That said sf5 is the only mainline game with no arcade release so maybe that's why there is no arcade mode, I just wish the story prologues were a little longer.
 
I noticed frame drops when Ryu did his V-Trigger in Training mode on PC. Meanwhile online matches had been smooth.

Using the same aging laptop that I used in the Beta but never had this issue. I have to test it on my other computer to see if it still happens.
 
It would have been really trivial to have created an Arcade mode by padding out Story Mode with extra (non-story) battles and adding a difficulty setting. I'm surprised Capcom didn't realize that reviewers/customers would miss it.

The AI goes up in difficulty after ~25 matches and probably again at some point thereafter. Don't know the entire set of break points, as I haven't played "Hell" (100 match) survival.

So when you're playing the character stories what difficulty is that on?
 
The servers seem to be alright in terms of finding matches, but on a few of my wins they haven't actually been registered for some reason... the game managed to keep my losses though.

Invite sent, tell me if you have any issues connecting. Things were still a bit wonky last night and I've yet to be able to successfully invite someone and have them join my room.

Edit : My individual lounge died, remade and sent out 2 more invites.

I dont see any invitations. This game is pretty terrible at making these things work so far. I failed to find any lounges due to my requirements which is on default :p. Hope they fix this shit.

Servers are fine, yeah? Got in this morning no problem.

The servers seem to be stable but Battle Lounge (at least from my PC) seems to be broken. Made a battle lounge and had it up for like 10 minutes before I decided to remake and send out invites again - blocked again.

Edit ... up again but I doubt anyone's gonna be able to join. lol.

Still untouched, as far as I'm concerned.

I still need to hunt a copy of that down just to see the tutorial mode in that. Everyone goes on about that and I'm sitting here with Guilty Gear/Blazblues going "these aren't very good."
 
The motion blur on the PC isn't all that bad now that I have several hours of the game under my belt. I have it on High and I think it makes the game look much better than PS4.

Also, last night I was on fight 28/30 for Normal Survival mode. Got killed by Ryu and had to redo the entire thing. :(

Could use a couple of more folks on PC. If anyone wants to add me on Steam:

Yeah I thought SFxTK Arcade ladder was good enough, liked the dialogue between a few teams as well.

I have no idea whats going on. Once I'm able to get to the menu, the Battle Network option keeps opening up. If I try to pick Story Mode, Training, or anything else they don't open, the network options thing does instead.
 
So when you're playing the character stories what difficulty is that on?

It's something nearly braindead easy - the AI mostly crouches all the time and eats any flying kicks/overheads you throw at it. Not to mention your character has full V-Trigger and CA bars.
 
Are people quitting in droves when they lose in ranked? Won 3 so far and lost 1. All 3 of my wins failed to send match to server while my one loss went through fine.

2? The first, best selling one?

Also, other game series have omitted it.

It can be redundant if there are other ways to play the CPU...which is probably why they omitted it.
The training mode VS CPU option allows for rounds, unlike SF4 or SFxT.

I would really like to see Capcom follow KI's lead like they're doing for season 3 with alternate inputs for the v-skill and v-trigger functions.

KI has a very similar layout to SFV. In KI, the throw is LP+LK like SFV, and they have functions for MP+MK, and a very similar HP+HK for instinct mode, which is essentially KI's v-trigger.

However, KI season 3 will allow MP+LK to act as MP+MK, and HP+LK to act as HP+HK.
It makes it much less awkward when using a stick as you can keep your thumb over the LK button.

Being able to do MP+LK for V-skill and HP+LK for V-trigger would be way less finger-contorting for sticks and a very welcome addition.
