That honestly makes no sense. So lets say you bought the game in America and played on the east coast. If for w/e reason you end up moving cross the globe in a few months and setup your pc in London and try to play some more you think this game is gonna read your profile as being from east coast USA and STILL try to match you with players from there? I think that circle is just for looks.

I'm hoping it's just server shenanigans but this is capcom we are talking about so I wouldn't be surprised if we heard "matchmaking region setting coming in march!"

Getting PTSD flashback when we needed to grind arcade mode just to unlock characters in SF4.

At least it gives you a reason to play Arcade mode? lol

Thats why I don't really care for Arcade mode, or lack of, in Street Fighter because it seems like the entries I played already had all the characters unlocked whereas playing Arcade mode in Tekken for example with every character would reward you with new characters or modes.

Since i didn't get a online match this past 2 hours I think I'll take a break until later and hopefully the Lounge and matchmaking will be fixed.

I'm not disputing that just as a fighting game newbie outside of Soul Calibur 2/3/4 I find some of the movements tricky so far. and the terminology.

It's a little tricky at first but it feels more natural as you go on. At least SF5 has pretty lax execution for combos and whatnot.

after preordering on PSN a few months ago (to get the game asap, preload and stuff), it's almost a full day after release and I still have the timer to SFV ticking to f****** New Year. They charged me the preorder money 2 days ago and still I see no trace of my game anywhere. No download option or anything. I sent a ticket to sony yesterday and got the usual "we're looking into it" response. Apparently it has to do with Capcom not PSN...whatever. Few dozen people also complaining about this on PSN forums but to no avail...argh

If you place that much weight on the backgrounds, I can see this.

SFIV definitely has the better environments by far.

The 30 fps animations are the real killer here. Play on Dhalsim or Karin's stage after playing SFIV on the Skyscraper or another busy stage and all the choppy NPCs stick out like a sore thumb. It's such a weird visual disconnect that hampers the presentation. I don't recall another 3D modeled fighter that has 60 fps gameplay with this issue. If this wasn't an issue I'd say SFV looks better for sure. If the backgrounds didn't have that posterization filter either it wouldn't even be close.

Not if you had to do it on three different platforms or even worse unlock it for tournaments. At least it's just colors this time but I'd prefer they didn't gatekeep content behind a grind fest just because they can.

Oh, I'm sure. I mean already I feel like my hand movements are less random/panicky/erratic than earlier and I played my friend in 5 matches and got better as it went on. For Chun-Li's CA in particular, whenever I try to do the quarter circle movements quickly (don't tell me I'm reading that wrong ...although I probably am) I just to flick the stick up for reasons my brain can't understand.

For now I'm only doing Easy Mode survival because I've been burnt already trying Normal mode and getting KO'd by the disconnect message. I feel 10 fights is a safe amount to get through without a disconnect and if I do then it's not a big deal.

You can redo the last fight while connected and you should earn it.

Yeah, seems like whenever I'm logged in the game gets major slowdown on the menus. Probably has to do with the servers being on fire.

So, it's inevitable that someone will eventually upload a save file for PC with all of the colors unlocked.

Do you think this will cause a reaction from Capcom? Can they detect or ban for modifying your save file?

Since costumes were not among the things cleared during server wipes, I assume that whether they are unlocked or not is not stored server side and they will have no way of knowing. But I don't know what else is stored in your save file that they may be able to detect.

Actually, even if this were possible, from my own personal experience, costumes were cleared on server wipes.

I'd unlocked costume color 3 for Cammy and after having my ID reset in one of the pre-final wipes back on Saturday, it was re-locked.
