I don't understand

I checked how to win the fp

I have 14 character level 8 with story finished so it's 140 000fp
Ryu level 17 with story finished so it's 19 000
Ken level 12 with story finished so it's 14 000

Finished survival with ryu easy normal so it's 12 000
Ken on easy 6000

Should have 191 000fp where I have 182 000 :(
Any idea what I've counted wrong ?

Karin: I'm not sure if there are any top players playing Karin exclusively on stream but I've seen Floe and Juicebox dabble Karin occasionally. I do believe Mago is maining Karin so you can catch him from time to time at TopangaTV (it's live now)

Ryu: Rip and maybe Alex Valle when he's doing a house stream and when he's bored of Rashid

Vega: Floe seems to be focusing on Vega lately

Ken: Juicebox was last seen practising Ken during the Beta test

Chun Li: Justin Wong

Rashid: Aris and Valle when he's doing house stream

Thanks for this! Hadn't heard of the Topangatv before.

I've played around 10 online matches and succeeded at getting demolished every match. Two things that I picked up on were that I suck at executing moves in an actual match and I really need to work on my defense.

What's the best way to about getting better at that stuff?
For execution, just work on it in training mode until you can do the move 5 to 10 times in a row. You can just practice in like 5 min chunks, no need to bore yourself. Your brain will benefit from breaks.

It might take a couple of days to really internalize it, but once you do you'll have it permanently.

Okay never playing on under 4 bar again. Just played against a Chun-Li and she was literally teleporting constantly, but it didn't seem to phase her. Constantly pulling off combos and it was like she had Bison's V-Trigger constantly on. 7 fight win streak too. Bit weird.

I get the same. I set to 4-5 connection and get teleports and other BS.

If it gonna cost me the match I just quit. Don't give a fuck, not giving them a win because of lag and I shouldn't take a loss due to it.

Lose. Specifically, lose in a way where you're focusing on doing one thing better.

Suck at AA? Play 10 matches and focus ONLY on AAing. Simply performing it in a live match is the key. The more you do it, the easier it will become second nature and the less mental energy it will take to do it on reaction. You'll probably lose now, but that's ok because you're not trying to win, you're just trying to improve on one thing.
Very, very sound advice right there. Despise my fair bit of experience (I'm not good by any means mind you, but experienced) I have to put myself in this very mindset when I want to try something new or switch mains. A little bit of training, and then some casual matches with a particular objective in mind on which I focus. Often works wonders, for me at least.

why did I get 1k fightmoney (technically 1050) from a casual match win?

another player falls to Gief's v-trigger heh, a Nash this time.

It has frame drops in areas where the PC doesn't.

I only noticed one frame drop, when using Bisons CA with V-Trigger activated, but it was in an animation so didn't really affect the game at all. I'm sure that's easily patched up.

One thing I want them to do though, is add character select to online matches. Current system is an annoyance.

What's wrong with the PS4 version?

Basically I can't stand framerate drops in a 60FPS fighter. I am hoping they can fix it ASAP as it is clearly related to network performance. I am starting to think that is what is affecting the PC vs PS4 cross play. If the PS4 version drops frames it is messing up the PC version on cross play matches

Anyone else having the problem that their id can't be found/know someone that can't be found?

Yup. My friend can find me but I cant find them. Guaranteed I am spelling the name correct too

Is there a way to play the game in borderless windowed mode?

Also how long does it take to find an opponent? It just sits on the "Waiting for an opponent.." screen for potentially hours ?? Still haven't played an opponent online, this fucking game

Did not get one match last night even though I had it looking for one for 4 hours. this was 7:30 to 11:30pm EST. That said I played a lot of survival. I was REALLY trying to play Nacali but I will be fucked if having his charge move in the middle of my combos wasn't messing me up so bad. Really had trouble with that. After a couple hours I tried Mika, Karin, and Cammy. Cammy I played in other SF games so it came pretty easy. I think I am going to give Karin a fair go though. She seems really fun it is just a matter of getting her move set memorized. Mika is also fun, maybe as a secondary.

So when people try out alternate characters do they still keep going in ranked mode and lose all their lp while trying to learn? Or I guess that's what casual is for but then I don't know how big the player pool in that is.

Just played a guy from the US, near perfect connection. Yet the Chun-Li I faced that was teleporting was from the UK. I'm in Ireland so that makes no sense lol

huh, got completely destroyed by a Ryu, including a perfect. Couldnt do anything at all. Alrighty then >_>

Fireballs aren't safe period now. Jumping in is so op in this game right now because of the distance you travel in the air. I'm still used to sf4 jump ins which were much shorter. You can almost jump from half screen now wtf?

Need to practice a brand new AA game for my Vega. Down back Light punch isn't cutting it in clutch situations, but it works well enough. It also adds swag to Vega.

Man I'm used to air dashing so the more jump the better as far as I'm concerned. That said, man I like this game more than 4. I'm this close to saying it's better than 3rd strike._._.

So, since the game just came out, even though there are betas, would it make sense at all to look at guides of characters from previous SF games? I haven't been able to find a really good Chun-li one. But then again, I might just be looking at the wrong place

Guides from other games will do nothing for you, there should be some video primers around for SFV

Why does it take so long to find an opponent? Is there any thing I can do? my search is the broadest possible. I spend 10 minutes searching and 30 seconds playing.

aw thought I was gonna break this Ryu's 3 win streak on ranked. Oh well, was a good match, not even salty. He knew how to blow up Gief's V-Trigger easily, always fucked me when I used it :/

like others have said, do you have fight request turned on? im having more luck with that than with actual searches.

also all the matches ive done so far had zero lag, the netcode itself seems great...when it works properly lol

Server problems. It will get better. Timeline is anyone's guess though.

During the last beta I was getting matches like every 20-30 seconds. Here's hoping they can get it back to that state this week.

guides for the previous games wont help much.

There should be new ones for this game.

I'm mostly fine with the execution in training but the minute I jump into a proper match it all falls apart. I think I'm probably at the point where I need to start eating some losses online because it feels like I won't get over these hangups until I start learning in an actual match environment.
