The matches I played last night weren't lagging at all and they were queueing up pretty quickly at least.

Hope that continues!

Do you folks set it to pc only or PS4 only based on what platform you are playing on? I have it set to any currently.

I just want a working 1v1 battle lounge so I can play with my friend on the other coast.
That's all I'm waiting for to be fixed before I jump back in at this point.

Pretty much the same. I have fun playing ranked but the biggest reason I bought is to play my friends outside of comfortable driving distance and some other internet friends. At the midnight launch I actually got it working for 1 match with my friend before it all shit the bed and haven't got it to work since.

Does anyone where I can find up to date frame data? Is the only option buying the guide?

Anybody got any tips for Birdie players when you're up against Karin's and other people that go in hard? Not having a reversal move is killing me, especially with 5 frame command grabs.

command grabs is what scares me most in this game. Once they are in, it's guess work 50/50 thing. Right now, just train yourself to keep them out as best as possible. It's a problem I am still figuring out tech or OSs for it.

Lounges are not working for me, I hope they fix this soon.

Other than that, online battles have been smooth as silk.

Also, I don't understand any of the ranking, league or whatever numbers, lol

Any bnbs for ryu?

if opponent standing st.mp, (another st.mp if you're near opponent), st.hp, st.hk
if opponent is crouching, st.mp, cr.hp xx lk tatsu for space control or hk tatsu for more damage
for jumpin you can go for j.mk, st.hk xx mp srk or ex srk or stick with j.mk and then do one of the two bnb combos i mentioned earlier.

How the fuck do these kens beat me by jumping in constantly.

That jump roundhouse is so hard to counter and what should ryu do to punish a blocked sweep?

I'm starting to grow favorable towards using Necalli ever since I found

j.HP, s.HP, qcf+MK, c.MP, b,f+LP

314 meterless... yeah, that's pretty good damage...

Not that it's going to change Karin as my main, but Necalli/Rashid get to fight over sub duties.

Jumping in is only a mistake if the opponent stops you.

A blocked sweep is easily countered with another sweep if you're in range, though there is a bit of a timing element to it. If you're not in range after the block then it will come down to your character's specific tools which I am ill equipped to advise on.

Any tips on dealing with projectiles as Birdie? getting beaaaat
- Neutral jump.
- Force an action out of them with the can.
- If they're content on sitting on the opposite end of the screen, chug donuts for V-Trigger (more on this later).
- At certain distances, horizontal chains grab them through the fireball if you time it correctly.
- Alternatively, EX chain straight-up cancels out fireballs.
- Bull Revenger (the leap grabs).
- Forward FP (the shoulder bash) for armor on start-up.
- Down-forward FP (the dolphin dive) goes underneath them too.
- EX Bull Horn (holding punches / kicks) has one hit of armor as well. Vanilla Bull Horns go under fireballs if you time it right.
- Come V-Trigger, all of your Bull Horns and Bull Heads have armor on start-up.

It usually seems to get blocked. Maybe I need to do it earlier?

Necalli can do some stupid for very little effort. That said it's a combo with a jumping heavy punch that starts with another heavy

MP srk to beat anti airs.

Punish a blocked sweep with a sweep of your own, depending on how close they are, you could get a c.mk into srk.

Oh wow I didn't even know you could link to the cr strong after his forward stomp...hmm. Back to the lab

Yes, there's a bit of a strict timing window on getting your sweep out between your block recovery and their move recovery. It's not like 1-frame tough or anything, but it might be something to practice for a couple minutes in training mode with a recorded dummy. I still miss the counter sweep sometimes and I've played plenty of SF.

I had been using crouch fp or stand roundhouse with good success but the photos seem to stuff or trade with those.

It's very important to learn and use the basic anti-airs, but as others are saying it sounds like you need to step up to dragon punches if you're not beating their jump ins.

Read the Karin part: https://www.brokentier.com/blogs/br...-hit-the-ground-running-3-the-next-8-fighters

Except for shoulder, none of her specials are safe on block.

Know your enemy, pick her in training and spend some time trying her out.

Then record her doing things that give you trouble and learn to punish them with your main.

Thanks for the suggestions. I put my main against Karin CPU max difficulty in Training and tried blocking and countering her as much as I could. Understanding her a bit better will help indeed.

Try to get into a position that allows you to jump in on her. Her anti airs are very situational and she has a hard time getting out of pressure without risking an EX Ressenha which will absolutely get her killed if she misses it.

It was mentioned on the last page, but Karin's specials are all unsafe on block except for shoulder tackle and fully charged vskill. Lk upkicks are -5 on block, Ryu should get st or cr Mp of that into a combo.

Thanks I'll look into that.

Update: beat first Karin I met. haha. Granted I got dizzy'd and KO'd on the first round but won the last two. Is it just me or Chun-Li's back+fiece punch is a really good move? lol

Just played someone who is Lv. 0, and had no Fight Points. I was his first match probably he ever played and he destroyed me. Fuck.

I wish I was like people who don't mind getting their asses beat every time lol

Yeah, I usually tend to gravitate towards characters requiring mind games, conditioning and reads. Even if they are harder to play once you get to a certain level, they are, to me, way more fun to play as than other archetypes, so I can take those match-up losses if my wins can bring me the joy of having outplayed my opponent on a mental level. :D
yeah, Laura is all about them frame traps and reads. Her super is surprising and scary in the right hands. When I lose to a good Laura, I just get my butt handed to me, while some characters like Necalli you lose to when you clearly make a mistake. Nash and Laura get inside your head, to a lesser extent, it's how you play Ken now as well, have to condition people so you can run and grab.

In necalli's v-trigger mode c.MP can combo into MK stomp making that combo easier to land.

Just remember that this is the 5th (actually hundredth) Street Fighter game. Anyone who has been playing even since SF4 is a huge advantage now.

Also matchmaking will improve as time goes on and people start getting dozens of fights a day, allowing the sorting algorithm to actually work.

Push through the pain of losing and 1) you will definitely improve with experience and 2) you will be matched more often with people of the same skill level.

Also maining Karin, but I played a ton of Necalli in training yesterday. I cannot for the life of me get the charge move off at the end of that combo. It was infuriating.

ok tested it out for the hell of it, I was actually able to add you via this CFN shit.

Meanwhile, I can't even add other people.

You know for a broken game, this thread is sure moving at a brisk pace lol. Capcom done did some good here, just gotta add on to it. Keep up the work Network Ninjas!

Think I'm going to do one 100 win sirvival with Ken, do everyone's easy, and only the normal/hards characters I plan to play as. So should be pretty much done with the SP stuff by the end of the week and ready for the March update with challenges and costumes. Also, hope I get another Ken alt along with Alpha.

And Kens art work looks better than the character, why did they make both him and Ryu such muscular monsters, the art work, especially Ken's, he's much more nimble and slim. I think that fits him and muscular fits Ryu, especially with how hard he hits.

They need to work on slowdowns due to matchmaking and settings on training and ranked/casual matches search not being saved. Those are my main complaints right now.

First online game and a Ken just spams the same two moves against me, don't know how to stop it :(

Well it will take more than one match to get your hand steady if you are really new. Remember to have some fight in you. When it's obvious you have no confidence it becomes a very one sided game. If you feel confident and stick some moves out you should at least get some lucky hits assuming you are playing another beginner.

Tell a little more detail like which two moves for instance and maybe you can get a some insight.

...

Nice that the game is finally working. I have been matched 3 times now. All with new players it seems. All jumping and uppercutting this way and that. :) It's amazing how all the rough edges on the overall package fade away when the online works. I like this version of sf so far.

Might want to play casuals until you're more comfortable, lot of good players are going to have low points for the next few weeks, game is brand new.

Please do share your secrets if you actually manage to do that 100. I've yet to go past 35 wins myself.

I wish there was a shortcut in training mode for the command list. There are two different ways to reset using the shortcuts, so they could have freed up one of the inputs.

I'm not usually a fan of people reselling DLC codes on ebay and stuff but I preordered this on Amazon and have the Bison Battle code that I haven't used yet. I am not a Bison fan whatsoever (Ken for life! ha) and would have rather received the Cammy Battle code that Best Buy was giving away... anyway, what would you guys say is fair asking price for the Bison code? I see completed listings going anywhere from $15 to $30

I just played my worst "5 bar" connection. It was a Vs Ken and it was just... they knew his internet was shit. It was just Ken flowchart but with a anime teleporting backdrop.

I'm a Guile guy, but Nash is growing me.

He's totally different though. Like completely.

He's basically a rush down character.

could have easily just got the game but put hours upon hours into the beta

How often are rankings updated? I lost a ton of LP but it doesn't seem like I'm dropping at all. Others would think this is nice, but I'm getting matched against people who are destroying me.
