Hey guys,
I know there is one for the neogaf FGC already on PS4, but I thought it might be nice to have communities and channels of communication, for this game specifically. To join this, add Chronospherics and I'll invite you.
I've also made a SFV group chat for Neogaf members, if you join this and favourite it, you can very quickly see everyone online, who you have in friends and who you don't, and message everyone everyone asking if they'd like to fight etc.. We use these group chats very successfully on other OTs like the Rainbow Six Siege OT. It can be handier when grouping people together.
If you'd like to join either group, just send me a message to Chronospherics on PSN and I'll add you to both. If you only want to join one then just leave the one you don't want to be a part of.
Finally I've made a spreadsheet where everyone can log their Capcom Fighter ID, either on PC or PS4. Adding people from this list should make it smoother for everyone to match up, and you can follow eachothers replays and such too.

In SFIV I won quite a bit during the first days on PSN. I'd say about 60% of my games, sometimes I was close to 10 streak. And I wasn't good at all, could do some stuff but not FADC consistently etc.
During the first day of SSFIV I had a tougher time, nothings worse than starting a game with a 5+ losing streak. But then I usually go scrub for some wins out of spite.

It's 50 in ranked as well? My Karin is already level 36 for some reason and I only just started playing online matches today. I did finish Survival on easy with her though and got to 28 on normal so maybe that's why she's so high. It is cool you get FM for levelling up as it will encourage you to try some other characters to grind out.
we don't know what the grind is like until the store opens and dailies/weeklies are out

To be fair, I got over 200k FM by doing like 8 easy survivals, 2 medium survivals, the story and around 50-60 online matches.
EDIT: and they haven't even added trials or the daily challenges yet.

Play the story mode with each character and I think survival over and over to get much more fight money. I think Easy Survival for example gives you approximately 2000FM. Honestly, I don't remember the exact amount. No earthy idea why they would only award a paltry 50FM for winning in Ranked. Should be at least 1,000-5,000 or something.
I just accepted the fact that I would lose a lot before I started winning, but in the end (after 200+ hours of SFIV) I managed to get my winrate to 45-50%.
And that is good enough for me.

I got 1000 fight money for a win in ranked last night but I don't know why. To do with a win streak maybe? I was 15+. I guess Capcom will have their daily challenges from March, we don't know how much fight money we will get from completing those yet.
If you play survivor with The same character on The same dificulty again you still win FM?

Plus you get 1000 FM every time you level up.
I played a guy who was ranked 2050th yesterday and trashed him but he dced after. I figured at first I just had the edge because it was a mirror match but him being a plug puller explained why he was so high.
I played another guy who was 3500ish and stomped him. He wasn't a plug puller, maybe he just had a bad match.

He gets a ton more frame advantage on his moves I think. Block more when he attacks, destroy him harder on offense, stay far away.

That's cause you levelled up your character. You can get experience by playing with a character and every character has their own experience. So levelling up gets you 1000 FM.
This encourages people to be more willing to play different characters as that will net you more FM.

Mike Ross got a 50 fight streak. He got 50 FM when he reached that streak, lol. He only had 11K FM total. It's pretty much going to be impossible to get enough FM from fighting.

Cheers. Every little helps I guess! I may buy the season pass tho, to stockpile for the 2nd season. Depending on how things look next month. Nice to know we can get a little extra FM for trying new characters tho.

Probably just a bad match, I've been following the highest ranked Rashid player and I watched him get near enough double perfected in one or two of his games. By some really basic Laura stuff too!

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Probably going to get the season pass so I can get any cosmetic items/colors released for the characters I enjoy.
that's probably because your character leveled up, it gives you 1000

I doubt it, not without nerfing level bonuses. It's very F2P/MMO design where the rewards are clearing content for the first time or doing your list of tasks so you do different things.
You have to connect to the server once after you redeem it and you have to be playing on the account that redeemed the code.

At the end of the day, no business is going to want to give a free alternative for something they can charge for.
Making it too easy to get characters makes them lose money. And personally, since my 60$ purchase got me the game, the story mode, the state the game's gonna be in come march, 16 characters +2 just from doing single player stuff, I really don't feel gipped at all.
Though I'm gonna wait until April to get the Season Pass since I want to see how the game comes along till then.
Yeah that was probably it, I'm still working on my game and while I feel like I know a lot if Karin's ins and outs my execution isn't consistent and I'm still getting used to playing vs. other people.
Also he just might have not known the match up although Karin seems to be one of the most popular characters online.
Anyway I didn't mean to disrespect the guy, I was just surprised I beat him when he seems to be legit.
