Switched from Bison to Cammy and I gotta say I'm having a bit more fun now. It's pretty satisfying to be able to hit those near Sako combos with relative ease most of the time now. I'm a former stick player playing on pad now too.

It's pretty great how you can easily go off visual cues now. Biggest quality of life improvement to the series.

The thing that sucks about droppers is that even if you remember their fighting ID, there doesn't seem to be a way to discover their PSN ID and therefore cannot message them. I found the guy on CFN, but all you can do there is make them your favorite or look at their profile.

I know there's a laundry list of features missing in SFV, but eventually I hope it will update "players met" on PS4.

"Connection Rating" is the rating of the connection you have with a particular player.

It might be great with the guy who lives 300 km from you, but not so great with the guy who lives on the other side of the world.

Try to use battle lounges or activate the "ask for permission" or whatever option in the network settings menu. That way you can see how good a connection you have with the player matched up with you before you accept.

EDIT:

Or perhaps I am again misunderstanding something. Did I answer correctly or did you mean something else?

Thanks man that's exactly what I meant. Wasn't sure if it was constant and not relative. I'm wired in so I'll just have to hope I get more matches as opening up my connections to Any yesterday matched me with some really laggy folks.

Mike Ross finally gets revenge! How does tool assisted even work on PS4? I mean is it just macros on a fight stick?

At this point, I think so. Whoever runs it hasn't had enough time to make up a new PC program to run for SFV yet, I'd imagine. I could swear originally (SF4) it actually was a program reading inputs because it could punish back dashes with Abel's Ultra. I don't think a human could do that every time, even if it was set to just a button.

psn name is right on top of there Capcom name, or under it.

Ok, so I redeemed my Hot Ryu code but I can't figure out how I select it ingame?

After you select him, the part where you normally choose his color, right above that you can change his costume.

Hey, what's your name on CFN? Meant to add you a while ago.

On CFN? When I get home I'll check more closely, thanks!

I will be messaging my latest dropper with "19 wins my ass!"

I wish there was a way to message PC players though.

I hope the store opens with stuff that isn't just the story mode costumes we unlocked for purchase. Have the elaborated on when it's getting implemented into the game or is it just march?

Personally I think every survival mode should just be 10 levels each with consistent CPU difficulties throughout. I'm honestly surprised people can be bothered to slog through 50-100 levels.

I would actually play Survival on higher than Easy if it was like that. Playing on normal one time and losing on the 30th mission was enough to deter me from ever trying again as I have no interest in wasting 15-30 minutes going through the first 29 again to get another shot at 30. 5-10 minutes to go through 9 of them again to get to the 10th battle sounds much better.

The Id is usually identified as "Online ID" for PSN or "Steam ID" for PC

Just March, yes.

I personally think they're also going to offer stage variations like Kanzuki Estate during the day time or Lair of the Four Kings with Sagat in the background instead of FANG. I say this because these stages are already in the game and playable in story mode.

Mike Ross got a 50 fight streak. He got 50 FM when he reached that streak, lol. He only had 11K FM total. It's pretty much going to be impossible to get enough FM from fighting.
i think the daily challenges are what's going to give fight money, but it's probably going to be ridiculous stuff like win 25, 50,100 in a row for a big FM payout. Should have reasonable stuff too like win 10 matches with CA finishes, 10 in a row wins, beat someone higher ranked than you, beat CPU with half health, etc...remember this is barebones SFV, gonna be very different in just a few weeks. The store, an integral part of the game isn't even up yet lol.

Im OmniCloud there. Sorry should have kept the name the same as here, kinda regret it now 😓

Trapping players ina game they don't want to be in is shitty design.

Successful in Rocket League? Bullshit, just get people go afk instead, or score own goals to troll, and the other players on the team are fucked if they want to leave.
That's what you sign up for when queuing ranked. If for whatever reason you suddenly decide you really don't want to play SF anymore despite queueing for a game a minute ago and don't want to get punished you'll survive sitting through the 30 seconds it takes your opponent to body you.

In Rocket League you get booted for going afk and face the same penalty while no automatic system can punish griefing appropriately. Neither does yours. It's a non-issue in fighting games anyway.

Nah it was well into the move, he got sucked forward and everything.
Hmmm...was he blocking? Because the suction only stumbles them if they aren't blocking like Seth move in SFIV. If they are blocking you're pretty much just closing distance, but neither is at a disadvantage. Gotta go to the lab though to see how safe it is.

Is it worth tracking down a 360 fight pad (like one of the madcatz TE versions) to play this on PC? I could wait for the ps4 sticks to be compatible, but they're also very pricey

Haha, no problem. I have your PSN, but thought you wouldn't keep it the same. Also, as I sit here at work, why didn't Capcom think to make an app or at least a website for CFN so we can add people & watch replays without having the game running? So many afterthoughts.

Played for first time last night. Had zero issues connecting and playing. Love how this game feels. May have found the first character I want to learn (Laura).

You can use PS4 sticks with wrappers like X360CE, it's not ideal but does the job fine until they patch in Dinput support.

Really just depends on your preferences, if you're eyeing a stick anyway I wouldn't bother with a Fightpad unless maybe you find a used one for cheap.

Yeah that was probably it, I'm still working on my game and while I feel like I know a lot if Karin's ins and outs my execution isn't consistent and I'm still getting used to playing vs. other people.

Also he just might have not known the match up although Karin seems to be one of the most popular characters online.

Anyway I didn't mean to disrespect the guy, I was just surprised I beat him when he seems to be legit.

Yeah I mean I beat a Ryu with 1800 points the other day surprisingly easily. Sometimes peoples gameplan is contingent on a particular strategy and so they get blown up by elements of the matchup that you're employing, that they're unfamiliar with.

Two rounds is not much time to adapt, that's why tournaments are best of 3 or 5, and even then, things like best of 10 have much more validity.

In the case of the Ryu player, he was pressing c.mp or c.lp all the time to interrupt strings so once I realised that he got hit by c.lp, s.mk / c.mk frametraps all the time. A surprising number of players actually get hit by s.mk frametraps, even when all I do is press the button three times in a row.

how long does it take CFN replays to update? I want to dig up some of the replays of myself and my friend last night because I was in top form in some of them. He's a really good Karin player and forced me to start using things I often forget about, like jab into psycho ball and v-reversals to get him off me. Karin's step kick and v-trigger mode confounded me at first but I definitely feel like I can handle them now.

Funny thing is I feel like the long punish combos I come up with are far easier to do consistently than the short ones to maximize damage off of pokes. On Necalli for example I guess you can just do the qcf k motion while throwing out normals and it'll make him do his stomp if it hits, and nothing if it doesn't. I'm not in the habit of doing that with Bison because I'm always holding a charge.

I know I should maybe be using inferno instead of scissors but I'm set in my ways at this point. I've fought a lot of online people who I can get off 2-3 scissors combos on before they figure out what's happening but against my friend I was much better served by the knockback and hard knockdowns of psycho ball and inferno. As I play Bison more I realize how important spacing is for him, for example staying right at dash range giving me options to be a jerk with teleport stuff.

My friend DESTROYED me in our first two matches. It was embarassing how bad it went, I think I got stunned every round. But once that download was complete I held my own. We did two sets of 5 and I won the second.

Oh geez I totally meant stick, not fight pad. Not sure what's wrong with me.

Well I'll just keep an eye out. The new line is still too expensive for me as of now.

What's the cheapest wireless headset I can get to chat in game while still using my Hori RAP4? Such a pain in the ass that there is not mic in.

So im getting matches and Battle Lounges seem to work BUT ... im getting super long load times after a ranked match.

Hi #SFV World! There are no current issues to report at the moment, but please let us know of any problems you may be experiencing.>

It's not client side loading time cuz some matches 15 second to go back to Training mode and others a minute or two.

Fuck them, honestly. Personally, lounges still don't work and I barely get any matches.

I've been searching for a character that works for me. Got my first ever online match victory with Chun-Li. Her attacks just feel effective and simple to use. Maybe she's the one for me :)

Will keep testing and searching. It's kinda fun.

Honestly it only takes about 5 minutes to set up x360ce and then PS4 sticks work perfectly. I've not once thought about it since setting it up.

Edit: and I really recommend the Hori RAP4. It's a bit cheaper than most Madcatz offering ($150).
