Street Fighter V |OT| No Options to Select

Is Lag switching a thing here? I fought a Cammy who spams David Tannet and all I could hear was the move and the last frame of the animation. With this Vega might be broken if Capcom doesn't give us a network option settings a long with M.Bison. It's impossible to react.

Whats your in location?

Im in EU and wait time usally is just 1-2 mins even tho I see complaining from US players at the same time
South America on PS4.

Also 1-2 minutes to go back to the Training mode is bonkers

Fuck them, honestly. Personally, lounges still don't work and I barely get any matches.
:(

I've been searching for a character that works for me. Got my first ever online match victory with Chun-Li. Her attacks just feel effective and simple to use. Maybe she's the one for me :)

Will keep testing and searching. It's kinda fun.
I think chun li is the best in the game. Good choice

So im getting matches and Battle Lounges seem to work BUT ... im getting super long load times after a ranked match.

The official response:

It's not client side loading time cuz some matches 15 second to go back to Training mode and others a minute or two.

Yeah, if you test the game offline you'll find that loading training mode takes just a few seconds. Something is still very wrong with their network. It's as if after an online fight they clear the whole game from memory and load training from scratch because that's how fucking long it takes.

There really is no matchmaking depending on league. They just slapped League points on the beta 4 and called it a day

It might just be initially so that everyone can get games then it'll split up so everyone can face one rank up and one down.

Tbh I've been getting plenty of action in casual. If the thought of someone raining on your parade and snatching up all your points fills you with despair try that out. Alternatively you could play some sets with gaffers

BTW the battle stats are not working yet right?
Cuz all my stats are at 0%

The player graph before the match is also not working.

But it's not just that because the times fluctuate a lot.

Dont worry bro!

Hey Everyone! There are no current issues to report at the moment but please feel free to notify us of any problems you may be experiencing.

There might not be Blanka but Laura keeps his garbage spirit alive with that hideous super.

If Street Fighter has told me anything about Brazil is that they like basketball and electricity.

Coming just lately from Battle.net and Heroes of the Storm you immediately notice how painful is matchmaking, menu navigation and loadings in this game. It's so LAST gen. How can a big company like CAPCOM not being able to copy other companies like Blizzard to success? What a shame. I pass more time in menus than playing.

me and good blankas had some of the most intense matches ever in SFIV. Battle of turtles and wits! So many point blank stare downs because both sides are scared of pressing buttons. I definitely miss him, but imagine he and sagat are part of season two, feels not complete without them.

IMO the original 8 vary enough to justify them in every game.

Legit true, hopefully they improve the UX.

There's something very silly that riles me up: The tiny fonts in the result screen after a match. >8(
Not like Fight Money and League points are important or something lol

My last bunch of matches.

Opponent / outcome / points / lag note

Rookie / Win / +25 points.
Rookie / Win / he quit / 1st round fine, then match turned really laggy
Rookie / loss / -96 points
S Bronze / Win / +55 points / laggy match
Rookie / loss / -96 points / third round super laggy, others fine
Teleporting match, quit within 15 seconds of start.
U Bronze / Win / he quit
U Bronze / Win / he quit
Bronze / loss/ -86 points
Rookie / win / +25 points / generally laggy match

How am I meant to rank up like this?

I'm Ultra bronze btw, barely.

All of this should improve. The last couple of betas were better than what many people are experiencing now regarding match frequency and load times.

So I just ordered this:

Mayflash Universal Adapter. Someone posted here that it works for 360 sticks on SFV with no issues. No idea if lag is introduced but I think it should be fine. $20 off Amazon with shipping, so definitely a good alternative to the Brooks considering price and availability.

It's experience more than anything. When you do your first big centralized server game, you see issues when the peak of players connect. A lot of that was Halo MCC's issues but they learned by Halo 5. Rocket League had more servers than was needed, but the server code had issues with lots of people being connected at once.

I'm not excusing it, but the annoying thing is that unless you can hit or exceed the player traffic before release, you don't know what you don't know. Now Capcom could have gone cheap on infrastructure and that's on them, but there could just be some parts of the code that just fuck up when this many people connect. I'm betting on it being the code judging by the first beta. Switch another server on wouldn't have fixed those.

I think the only central server game they've done before this was Dragons Dogma Online? Even if any of the code was shareable, it would have nowhere near the amount of people this would.

bet you guys Laura is actually Blanka's pupil when cinematic story comes out. :p

Or lover.

I'm also joining all of you complaining about the matchmaking. I hope all the other complaints won't cause Capcom to ignore this, since I feel like it's a much bigger issue than, for example, the missing arcade mode.

You don't even have to compare them to Blizzard. When even tiny indie games like Brawlhalla and Rising Thunder (as much as I disliked the game, it still had much better matchmaking) manage to create matchmaking systems that work way better than SFV, it really makes me wonder how Capcom managed to screw it up so badly. Especially considering how important matchmaking is to online play.

Poongko is sinfully boring to watch stream. Especially with how long it takes for him to get matches. Just sits there tapping at his buttons. Infiltration by contrast is almost as fun to watch just do his thing as it is watching him fight.

Infiltration is full of joy...and is generally entertaining because he probably likes streaming. Poongko is prob ably just streaming because he knows he's good.

Reposting this for visibility

Hey guys,

I know there is one for the neogaf FGC already on PS4, but I thought it might be nice to have communities and channels of communication, for this game specifically. To join this, add Chronospherics and I'll invite you.

I've also made a SFV group chat for Neogaf members, if you join this and favourite it, you can very quickly see everyone online, who you have in friends and who you don't, and message everyone everyone asking if they'd like to fight etc.. We use these group chats very successfully on other OTs like the Rainbow Six Siege OT. It can be handier when grouping people together.

If you'd like to join either group, just send me a message to Chronospherics on PSN and I'll add you to both. If you only want to join one then just leave the one you don't want to be a part of.

Finally I've made a spreadsheet where everyone can log their Capcom Fighter ID, either on PC or PS4. Adding people from this list should make it smoother for everyone to match up, and you can follow eachothers replays and such too.

Here's a link to that spread sheet, just edit yourself in.

there's something about Poon that I hate. I always root for him to lose at EVO. he just rubs me the wrong way no matter how good he is.
