Did SF4 register Down>Forward as a quarter circle? Because SFV seems to, and it's really throwing me off. Just experimented in training to see why I was always getting a super to come out on accident when I tried to DP after holding down, and it seems like sometimes if you go from down to DP it just reads it as double qcf.

Looks like I have to use the shortcut (double down forward), which I'm not really used to.

wow this rage quitting shit is becoming a real problem. i just played a dude who quit half way through the second round because he couldn't get in on my vega with birdie. dude was obviously trash but had a 30 win streak.

It's probably for the best that they don't punish this until they get their servers sorted, there are a ton of legitimate disconnects going on right now.

Once they fix their servers, they should definitely implement a loss for disconnecters.

Is Birdie's leaping command grab supposed to be BS? Cuz it seems pretty BS

Is that the one where he throws the chain in the air and grabs you?

Yeah, it's BS.

Then again, every characters who combos lead into grabs are fucking horseshit design imho.

It's like they're designed for those who just want to grab spam all day.

No, the one when he jumps forward or EX and dives forward

Heh That was always my intention. I did Easy mode Survival and that's it. Can't be bothered to be driven crazy for the rest of the colors. I'm not young with nothing but time on my hands anymore.

This reminds me of a story from 3 or 4 years ago. I decided to buy a used copy of Vanilla SF4 on Xbox 360(I first about it on PS3 back in 09)and asked my friend if he wanted play. HeI said hell yeah, so we start the game and I'm so excited to play Vanilla Seth again and then I finally came to the dreaded realization that I don't have any of the characters unlocked.

I felt some kind of immense pain scorching through my body because even though I didn't want to, I was actually going to play arcade mode to try and unlock all those characters and then finally Seth since he was the very last one(he is, right?). So later that day I spent around 2-3 extremely painful hours beating the arcade mode over and over. What made it worse is that even though I fulfilled the requirement I failed to unlock Akuma and Gouken a few times so I had to repeat the process. I finally get through it and vowed to never do it again because that was probably the 4th or 5th time I had done it.

I still haven't touched anything in the story mode. I think I will play Ryu's stuff to unlock his colors because he's my main but I ain't touching anybody else. I'd rather pay a few dollars then put in the time to do that.

Man.. .all my matches I win either don 't get uploaded or people just quit right before the win. This si starting to get very fucking irritating.

If you're interested in learning SF5 you just need to play SF5. The core game is fine right now other than the server issues which will probably go away after the next week or so.

The best time to get into a fighting game is right at the beginning. There's such a large pool of new players right now, and you'll potentially miss out on that if you wait a few months.

Yeah, that's definitely the main thing that makes me question my decision. But from what I've seen, SFV is going to feel pretty suffocating in terms of single player content, and that's primarily where I would feel comfortable getting used to everything. My hype for SFV has translated into a desire to get to know the franchise as a whole, and the Alpha games seem to be beloved entries with exactly the kind of content I wish SFV had.

Maybe going through them will scratch the particular itch I have (remember, the anime stuff has as much a place in my heart as the games, so I want some cheesy story to come with my gameplay!), and I'll end up picking up SFV sometime in March.

It's an incredible move. Learn to use it to counter projectiles at mid range. Also great for stopping incoming pressure, not good for close or long range at all though.

That's what Mika players are doing against my Nash haha.

Normal version isn't, it's like -4 or something on block.

Fully charged it's positive both on block and hit. On hit you can combo into her target combo.

Jesus. No wonder. Yeah when one of those charged ones comes at me I'm screwed for a while.

Don't you want to be grabbed by my Laura though? She's a pretty sweet girl

It's fairer than you think it is.

It's not a combo. It's you holding down back and eating a command grab. Try neutral jumping in this situation. The command grab will whiff, and you will punish.

I'm surprised how bad my matches are connection wise. Barely any issues in Beta, and I'd figure it would get better on release because of more players. :(
