A friend showed me you only have to do two scoops for a special into a super.

For instance, for Ryu's fireball into super fireball it's a scoop + punch then two scoops and a punch. You actually only have to do one scoop punch then another one scoop punch. Neat.

I have an extra Ryu outfit if anyone wants to trade a Bison or Cammy. PM me.

Lol "scoops" huh? HahaXD

Wait, really? I'll have to try that out.

EDIT: Can't replicate it. Perhaps it simply appears so due to the rather short charge time?

I'm doing them man, theres no mistake. Maybe your flubbing the motion, or using the wrong combo? Try st hp into it. Fastest, simplest one.

Edit: Shit wait, I know whats wrong, I was in V trigger! He can only do it when he's popped, so weird...

Um yea you do the charge is just really short. If you do one of his BnB combos with guidance and just tap b,f,p nothing will happen. Also just putting this out there if you hit someone with a basic cr mp poke with Necalli you can immediately link it into qcf mk, cr mp, qcf mk. Absolutely insane damage and stun build from a random poke.

Quick notes - I kinda main Necalli atm. The combo u listed, CR.MP into Mk stomp, won't work unless the CR.MP is a counter hit, or Necalli is in Vtrigger. Also, when Necalli is in v-trigger, guidance does not have a charge time if it's mid-combo. Go to training room, vtrigger, St.HP, and quickly back forward + either LP or MP will combo and execute.

I'm so terrible at this game. I've won a couple matches online courtesy of Gootek's vid of basically doing 3 things with Ryu (cr.MK xx Hadouken, baiting jumps and using Shoryuken and grabbing) but other than that, my brain doesn't work fast enough to do anything else.

Good job. Things become easier with time. The more you practice the less you have to actively think about how you're doing things and can spend more time focused on what to do in response to your opponent.

Just keep playing and you'll get there eventually.

Do you want to do the easy punish for acceptable damage or do you want to do the harder punish for big damage, but with more inherent risk of dropping the combo?

This already exists in SF5 though. And yeah, its still week 1, i mean we definately arent going to have combos near SF4 status but SF4 was the outlier in that aspect. This is more of a return to form.

So I looked at the shoryuken wiki and now we know just how far throws really are. In SFIV they were 1.0 (training squares) in distance. Now they're at best like 0.7. Most are 0.6 or less

It bothered me at first, but I getting used to it.
One thing tho, does anyone else feel like this game should have air combos? With so much emphasis on jumping, it feels odd not to have it

There's some limited juggles, but SF has never been about air combos.

I was checking the season pass and it comes with the 6 characters and one premium costume for each of them ? Is that all ? No premium costumes for the original 16 or anything ?

Bro.... Capcom aren't going to give people $124 worth of dlc ($88 worth that are not available by fight money) for a $30 season pass, one you can get for $24 on gmg.

Premium costumes are a joke @ $4.

The game only has emphasis on jumping if your opponent allows it, the anti air game is as strong as ever.

Is there problems with the textures or shadows in this game. The characters have blackish spotty shadows sometimes. It's annoying.

;P

It's odd how much fun I can have just setting the training dummy to CPU and setting everything to normal so its just endless rounds over and over. It's also funny how difficulty 5 is pretty retarded and difficulty 6 randomly goes into beast mode. Ryu parried like constantly one round then never did it again lol.

I prob find it fun because how much time I spent all those years ago playing fighting games single player if my mates wernt over.

Any way its fun to help me get my reactions up as they sure ain't what they used to me these days.

Nah, keep that Marvel shit away from my Street Fighter thank you very much.

Ryu can do simple air combos off of jumping strong.

Alright this man knows his shit. I might ask for more tips.
This I stole from Alucard vids, his best non transformed poke combo seems to be st mp into cr mp into either lp stomp(which has to be a bit meaty to connect) or lp disc g, which will connect as long as cr mp does.

There's some limited juggles, but SF has never been about air combos.

But this could have been the first!

I think this only works in V-Trigger mode. I haven't tried it myself since I always hold the charge out of habit, but I remember the SFV app mentioning it.

What characters in this game can combo after an overhead aside from Karin and Chun-Li? I'm guessing Mika can if she used her V-Trigger properly.

Mika doesn't have an overhead lol

Gief's fMK hits overhead right? Because if so i'm pretty sure you can combo off that, at least in CH

Air combos are hype man. You have to admit, every time you double jump with someone, it feels a little lame to just exchange 1 hit and fall back down.

Thanks! Yeah, it also helps to just start inputting the halfcircle motion early.

No prob at all, dude. The Mika Army has to help each other out after all!

I got another Mika question actually. I combo charged HK into target combo, but when the HK is a crush counter, the enemy actually gets out of range of the target combo. Does that give me enough time to dash in and set up a grab or something else? It actually really throws me off when that HK crush counters, although it should be a good thing right?

This game does not have an emphasis on jumping at all. Jumping is actually very risky in most matchups, and it's one of the first bad habits new players tend to have to break in order to succeed.

Yeah, I saw that. Fuck Capcom for putting unlocks behind Survival. If Poongko can't get past Hell without cheesing it nobody can.

Im pretty sure you don't unlock anything for beating hell mode, well I guess you get a title or something but you don't need to complete hell to unlock colors.

There's no way to use story mode costumes outside of story mode now right? You have to wait to buy them in march?
Also, servers still down I guess?

Technically they all can since jump ins are overheads.
;)

I think you can combo after Necalli's crush counter overhead.

I wish I could directly upload replays to youtube like in USF4.

Can't you technically just start the replay and then use the PS4's Share button to record the replay and then upload it using the PS4's upload feature? lol

And doing it that way is also higher quality than what Ultra could do iirc (I think Ultra's uploaded replays were stuck in an awful lower resolution?)

When the AI starts going HAM deeper into the survival runs the difficulty comes from the fact that it's reading your inputs and countering them. The trick is to give it nothing to read. Just sit tight and block, eventually it'll start throwing random moves at you that you can easily crush counter. Just requires some patience.

Damnnn. Are there any characters in specific that give you trouble with this approach or does it work against everyone?

Each? Are they taking the piss, got a costume pack for several fighters for little more than that in SFIV series, and costume were like 99p in UK for SFxT.

Presumably with no expansions planned for the game, they had to convince the business (and likely investors) that there were other viable revenue streams.

Personally, I'd rather have this business model than being forced to buy SFV Super XX Alpha Mega Hype Edition 7 for $40 to keep playing.

For the people who ordered the steenbok from GAME in the UK, did the Ryu code come in the post or was it emailed to you? I haven't received a code.

Question. I played my friend who's in Japan earlier today and was Karin I was Ryu. Was able to go 5-1 vs him but had a hard time stopping that move Karin does that goes thru fireballs. A few times I was able to do a medium shoryuken to stuff it. But sometimes I couldn't get it out in time, which may have been a product of online, not sure. Any tips?

Block it? Make sure to be ready to block low if she plans to do the sweep followup. That move is insanely unsafe on block and you can just wreck her afterwards.

As a Karin player...Don't throw fireballs at range at Karin... Close up or not at all.

Scoops definitely needs to become the default terminology. Along with small, regular and large attack buttons.
