Am I understanding frame data correctly?

Let's say someone has a 3 frame jab and uses a move that puts them at -1 on block. If I have a 4 frame jab and I press it and they press their 3 frame jab at the same time. It will trade right?
 
I am not at home today, but I would like to play battle lounge latter with Gaf. if anybody wants to fight a bronze guy with LP on 600s, kind of scrub, add me. DaviVascaino

That's the way it works yea. But medium and heavy attacks take priority. So even if you are frame match even, it will trade in the medium or heavy favor.
 
Does anyone know if it's okay to post the guidebooks contents here? I would copy and paste the paragraph that explains how to read and make use of frame data.
 
Does anyone have any tips/strategies for playing Vega? He's currently my favorite non-shoto character (praise Capcom for mostly ditching charge moves), but I don't know what I "should" be doing with him.

Use your claw range to your advantage. Your normals while in claw mode should keep most characters at bay. Without claw you have access to his target combo mp>hk which can be great for damage especially if you have meter as you can combo it into EX Flying Barcelona. Don't be afraid to mix up your offense with and without claw. You can combo from claw into none claw for decent damage: st.HPxxqcf+p >> cr.mpxxqcf+k you can also throw EX in there. That is a pretty basic bnb to switch modes.

He can combo on the ground from EX Flying barcelona and regular (if hit low enough) from his clawless stance. You can combo with qcb+lp off a successful flying barcelona hit with his claw on. He can combo into his CA pretty easy from hit confirms so keep that in mind as well.

His vskill can pass through fireballs if used at the time. The timing can be a little tricky at first but it is useful to get by fireball spammers a little easier. Linked below are some pretty helpful videos to give you some tips. I believe he has more on his channel and there are some other pretty good ones out there as well.

That´s hitbox data though, not frame data.

Startup (how fast a move comes out)
Advantage on Guard (how positive or negative it is on block)
Advantage on Hit (how positive or negative it is on hit)

Those are the columns of interest, it's pretty simple.

Yeah it got odd in places.

I think I play a pretty safe Rashid, not so jumpy and more respectful than most that you will find online.

By the way, you can punish my running eagle kick with a dash after blocking it. That's really important to know because it actually deals 50 points of chip damage, which is insane, if you're not dealing with it. It's -21, so you have enough frames to dash then do cr.mp into a cancel of your choice.

I wouldn't normally do it frequently but you wanted to learn the matchup so I thought I would give you the opportunity to learn to punish some things that were unsafe too! Especially as eagle kick (or whatever it's called) is probably the go-to move for every bad Rashid online.

I also think you should probably put your v-skill to better use, but I guess you may still be learning that side of the character. Generally the v-reversal just isn't worth it.

Good games though, thanks for playing with me. You're actually the best Karin I have played, I have not played a lot of Karin's and the ones I have played just spam the faux-mixup gimmicks.

It makes his moves really slow and theres not much damage potential off anything that isn't a standing fierce at close range. The pokes can be nice but on his longest range moves the claw appears to have a hurt box so you can get counter hit super easy. All that rolled together makes me not use the claw all that much, but it's preference and play style. Even at WNF they had two Vegas fighting who both used claw and the commentators were suprised since so many Vegas opt out of using it.

Edit: I still use it depending on the matchup and how the other person is playing
 
Even Momochi is having trouble with the hard mode lol

Using that battle confirmation tech.

Both Hard and Hell mode survival are 0.1% on trophy stats, not surprised if this is what it takes to beat it.

The Ai becomes boss level bad. First they start punishing then they start reading inputs
 
It's all account based. It's unfortunately not new, but it basically flags the individual PSn account as having access to things.

It really sucks because my brother and I have to unlock colors, buy our own costumes and characters. I understand that they don't want fight money to be abused and that makes sense to me, but at least let DLC content unlocked by code or paid for with actual money be accessible by all PSN accounts on the console.

It feels so grimy.
 
This game is a joke at the moment. I've gone from 1300 LP to 500 due to getting matched up with players in the 2000LP and had 7 rage quits in a row when I've been wining.

He nearly got bodied by Laura then gets Low health after the fight. Lol that Birdie fight.

lol he's had a couple clutch match queues, too.

Precisely my experience. I'm sticking to casual until a penalty is introduced. It's not worth the effort to play ranked at the minute.
 
Love the population of people playing casual lol they're all higher LP and level then me like what the fuck it's casual

Practicing, or guarding their precious LP, or trying out new characters or tactics, or seeking better skilled opponents to practice on without the fear of losing LP...
