Karin is definitely the Ken of SFV.

So I`m not alone in thinking that. The karin army spamming their stupid built in mix ups is real. I was waiting for someone to say it, and it`s the truth.

That being said once I learned that you can punish her shit it`s become a cakewalk, but the same goes for kens SRKs so the comparison still stands.

What built-in crossups?

Just so I... you know, can use them myself.

I should have said mix up. And she has that thing where she spins around the opponent and hits them, it gets me every time.

im also falling for karin shenanigans i think its time for me to start using her so i know whats un-safe when she's doing all her various rekkas

I am having an infuriating problem with lag with this game (PS4).

Every match is a total lagfest, both characters teleporting around, hardly any inputs registering. Even the character introductions have frame skips. Doesn't matter whether they are in the same country or whether they are playing on PC or PS4, it's still a terrible experience. Most of the time me and the opponent just resort to crouching next to each other and mashing cr.HK until one person wins.

I tested my internet on the PS4 and everything seems fine, <50ms ping, wired connection, 0% packet drop, 18mb downstream, 2mb upstream, NAT2 connection to PSN. Other multiplayer games on the ps4 play perfectly, I just tried BF4 and it plays absolutely fine. Only SFV seems borked.

I have tried nearly 20 games over the last few days now, about to give up with playing this game online. The funny thing is, the lag isn't that bad in the first 2 or 3 seconds of each round then becomes completely unplayable. Any tips to solve this would be greatly appreciated!

There's not much we can do. The game has been out for a week now and it had a rocky launch in terms of the servers. It's gotten better, but it still needs some time. I have 60MB up and 10MB down and also encounter matches where it's a shit show.

I set my match request to "ask" so I can see player connections, which helps weed out 2 or 3 bar players. Although it's not full proof. I still get players that are advertised as 5 bars, but the match ends up being a laggy mess.

I don't know if my recently bought Hori FC4 is faulty, but I'm having a super hard time blocking while crouching. I defend the jumping kick, low kick, keep pressing down-back and NOTHING else and the next move (usually fireballs) hits me. It happens randomly too.

My controller is fucked isn't it. Or maybe not set up properly?

it could be the other player, that or the server would be my guess.

edit: or what xCobalt said.

I suspected the capcom servers but from what it seems, the game runs peer to peer for the matches so I am not sure. The chances of getting 20 bad players in a row seemed rare as well which is why I suspected something on my side. All the matches are reported as 4-5 connection as well.

Don't think it is streaming either, I am the only one using the connection and my network monitor on the router shows no activity outside of the playstation.

Pretty much every permutation of the rekka pressure is punishable except the elbow before the crossup. If you just want to get the hell out, one option is also to V-reversal.

I'm abusing a lot of her specials in ranked because nobody seems to punish them so why the hell shouldn't I use them. Those are not her greatest strength, anyway.

I was having a first to 5 against someone, and we had a great connection almost the entire time. But twice, things got super laggy for no apparent reason, like impossible to play laggy. It wasn't on my end, i'm fairly sure.

Karin's stand Forward is a godly spacing tool. It comes out so quickly!

I'm not playing her just doing her survival mode.

She has a really good set of ground normals.

st.LP, st.LK have good range for light attacks
st.MK is excellent all around
st.HP, cr.HP, st.LP are great normal antiairs (she also has EX Ressenha)
Her sweep has a decent range and can be spaced in a way that makes it really hard to get a damaging punish.

Her command dashes are really fast (they do have some recovery though) and her EX dash goes through projectiles. This is on top of the HP version of Ressenha overhead, which also is projective invincible... though slow, so it has to be a read and if blocked, you might get hit by DPs afterwards. Or light normal into some damage.

I think my training is finally paying off. After taking yesterday off I came home from work and things started to click. I'm using ryu to focus on SF mechanics and I got 3 ranked wins in a row, 10 total wins in a row and also ranked to bronze. I have a TON to work on but it's starting to click. I really need to work on my punishes and meter usage. But things started slowing down some.

Congrats bro. Also it can't be stated enough to watch a pro who uses your character and see what tools they use and get a jump on MU knowledge and experience.

Yea. I can see how that helps. It just feels good to not only win, but win in non spammy ways (like spamming DPs). I've played SF casually for years but this is the first time I'm really putting in work learning the foundation and mechanics and it's a ton of fun.

Anyone up for a quick set before I take it down? Where's that Mika player at whos always posting? We must be in different time zones. Anyway bout to host a ft3

After posting the video of my first rage quitter, I was lucky enough to get 5 more rage quitters almost every time after I lost a previous match. Honestly, how is this fair to players who refuse to rage quit? My LP either remains stagnant thanks to these buttholes or it depletes when I lose. Taking a break until after this nonsense has been patched doesn't feel like a bad idea at the point.

Man, I am getting so many great games! Makes me feel better about Being stuck in s bronze listening to you guys, lol. Sounds like some bullshit in silver.

Yo bro 1v1 me right now I'll show you who's the Ken of SFV.

Yeah it's really weird. It's like "uh... ok"

This happens so much, I cannot understand the logic. On the other hand, no disconnects during Ranked yet.

What if you recorded the match while they're losing? That'd be really shameful.

Edit: or the servers are still acting up, that can also be the case.

If the results aren't sent, then it's the servers acting up. If they straight up lose connection immediately after the killing blow, it's pretty clearly a RQ.
