It's super early for tiers and stuff, but would you guys consider Sim a high tier character now?
When played by Art or FChamp definitely, when played by me absolutely not.
Seriously though he seems strong. Maybe not SFIIX strong but strong.

So do we all agree that Nash is a broken character? I mean, there are a lot of chars that pull a lot of bullshit (Sim, Cammy, Bison) but this guy is just so over the top: great damage, footsies, zoning, dashes, pressure, punish, v-system... and easy to learn.
The thing that drives me mad about Nash is his fireball. The hitbox of that thing is huge (doesn't help Zangief's hurtbox is also huge xD). He has a ton of safe shit, but he is not broken by any means. I think this game is overall pretty balanced, to be honest.

In good hands, he's top3 in my opinion.

Not really, no. Seems strong, but not problematic or anything (I wouldn't currently put him on par with Sim or Chun). His wakeup game sucks, you can bully him pretty hard if he makes a misstep and he generally has to burn V-Gauge to get out of pressure. I also don't think he has amazing footsies, they're just solid.

I think tiers are going to be so close in this game.

And with the characters being easier to learn in general a lot of players are going to play more than one character. Keeping a pocket sim would be so helpful for matchups against gief or something.

Lol the rage quits in casual are a riot. I'm unabashedly bad. I beat some Chun-li in round 1, immediate disconnect. The dude could have easily beat me in the next two and why not just learn and practice anyway. It's not like records matter.

Devs don't have experience in GGPO rollback code, so they write their own instead of hiring a consultant? That doesn't sound like a good idea. It's their flagship fighter, they should of been in talks with the GGPO guys from the start. I'm sure they would of been thrilled to work with Capcom.

Oh I totally agree. I meant Capcom doing their own over Naughty Dog and the rest that work in Sony. First call should have been just to get that in there.

why quit in Casuals? nothing is saved right?

I've lost connection 4 times after being KO'd today. Wondering if it does something weird when it saves the replay sometimes.

Does the Hori Commander 4 work on PC with this game without having to do anything special? Thinking about picking one up

No, the FC4 is DirectInput. You just need to use something like x360ce until they patch in native DirectInput support for SFV (or grab the other Fighting Commander pad that has a PC switch which uses XInput).

nash is fun but i dont have the dexterity to play a rush down style. usually when i try i'm the one that gets knocked down and pressured instead lol

so umm...playing him like guile/nash from previous games...heh...still having fun though. although mostly playing casual.

He's strong, but you have to put a lot of work into him mentally (and execution-wise now too with instant-air Yoga Gale) with how a single slip-up costs him dearly. Some of his shenanigans also have openings to them that most players haven't adapted to yet one way or another, so over time he'll have to be more creative at how he rolls his set-ups into motion.

It just sank in. The announcer sucks in this game. Where is the excitement? CVS2 set the bar with fighting game announcers and now we some guy who's worse than Bryon Saxton.

I bet that Survival Mode would be more exciting.
I'd rather have a neutral announcer like V's over an obnoxious, verbose loudmouth (with annoying voice to boot) like IV's, so it's a big improvement. You're right that he doesn't hold a candle to old fighting game announcers though.

He can have a hard time when people get up in his face due to lack of a true reversal and a 3 frame jab as his is 4 frames. He is a solid swiss army knife type character type to me. Having to use v-reversals to escape pressure puts a damper on his game.

It is still early but I feel like most of the characters in this game in certain people's hands look more dangerous than others. I feel that this game focuses a lot on fundamentals that those with great ones and that have broken their USF4 habits are excelling more than others. Sim, Chun, and Bison are slightly sticking ahead of the pack at this moment though. I think it is going to take until EVO to really make a solid argument on tiers as most tech will probably be unveiled by pros there.

He is some stuff coming out to punish Sim on teleport even if the timing can be tight sometimes and possibly be dangerous.

Thank you. I main Nash and he is by no means an instant win character. He is "a jack of all trades, master of none" type of character. He can do a little bit of everything but does not excel at anything. You have to earn your wins.

How's the crossplay? Obviously there will be issues with the way things sync, but is anyone consistently playing on the PC against PS4 friends and enjoying the experience? (When the game actually functions online)

So the newer one that's just called 'Fighting Commander' does work:

The fighting commander 4 does not:

Curious how do ppl ragequit? Do they sit near their PS4 and have their hands ready to pull the ethernet cord or just the PS button to dashboard? I'm on PC still trying to unlock colors in survival, haven't tried online yet.

Yeah, just hold ps button and pick close app. Pretty easy.

I don't notice any difference when playing against a PC or PS4 user aside from the load times. With the crossplay being so stable surprisingly the one feature which I thought would be broken is one that works the most consistent in my experience.

probably either or. using ps button i believe you would need to close the application as the game is still gonna be connected for awhile. match will be usually be over before the server times you out for being idle

Is there a top player sticking with Rashid right now? I see him out of the conversation a lot and Ive barely fought any online.

Actually most of the new characters are getting ignored. I think its mostly due to how changed the returning cast is, but its a bit of a shame.

i've seen alex valle playing rashid a lot on his levelup stream but im not sure if he's maining him or settled on anyone so far.

Ranked is a mess, so many rage quits. How did Capcom think not punishing rage quitters was a good idea?

People in Japan are saying it rarely happens to them, so it's likely:

Although, they may have known that the servers wouldn't hold up day 1 and thought it was best to not punish until the kinks were worked out. There would be just as much bitching if people were DC'd and losing points without losing matches.

if you can't tell, I've cooled on the issues since the session I got 10 in a row

Somehow get matched up with a player in China last night (i'm in los angeles)

Lag city. Luckily it was casual...still beat him by randomly mashing buttons and praying they hit something. Got that fight money lol

Nerdjosh displayed a solid Rashid during the Next Level Battle Circuit weekly tournament on team sp00ky.
