I've beat easy and normal with about all characters on survival. It's easy.

Hard though? Not even once. I can get into the 40's then it all goes to shit due to lack of healing or defense ups. Oddly the most successful strategy has been on Ken to just mash MP shoryu over and over until you stun them into a combo.
 
Is anyone still having problems with matchmaking?

I get regular games when I play outside peak times but from 6pm onwards it dries up to nothing. I've have no luck with battle lounge either, I can create one but no one joins.

Even in ranked. I just throw in the towel and let the other person win. Not worth the extra rage.
 
Went on my first ranked grind last night. I went from Rookie to Ultra Bronze in a few hours and built up a respectable 17 win streak. My character of choice: Bipson, of course. So many good tools. The slide is unblockable in Bronze league. Crouch fierce is a good AA. Super is incredible - a near-perfect AA with invincibility that hits in front and behind. Why did Capcom give him Psycho Inferno too and make it a quarter-circle move? So good. I still haven't implemented Psycho Blast into my game well (stand jab xx jab Psycho Blast looks like a standard string I'm trying to learn). I miss teleport and fast walk speed but I prefer the system mechanics of SF5 over SF4, so I'm not complaining.
 
SFV's hitboxes are dumb. This is how I'm going to remember Vanilla,

Battle lounges still not working. Got three friends who have bought the game so far, haven't been able to play a single match with any of them. Getting tired of this shit.

But at least I cleared survival normal today.

Meanwhile ranked matches (off and on) take fucking forever. Damn. Just let us pick our own matches like in sf4. Much faster.

This isn't hard.
 
I'm actually on the brink of changing my main from Nash to Ken, but only because GrayFoxPL have been such a good coach to mean, teaching me different things on my stream.
 
Decided to make Karin my main, got her a nice kawaii pink colour and everything, so fun to use, just wish her crouching AA was a bit better.

Vega and Bison will probably be my second until my bro Balrog is released. Always pick Shadaloo. (Sagat pls go)

Currently on an 8 win streak, would have been more if people didn't disconnect but oh well.
 
I haven't had too many problems with connecting to games outside of the first day and a half of matchmaking being nonexistent.

Last night I tried casual queue for the first time. Queue took forever and I played the same dude twice in a row. Went 1 to 1 but it was just weird that it even was possible. Ended up just joining battle lounges (first to 2) for more practice games.

They're probably trying to avoid the scumming of people owning multiple consoles and grinding off themselves, a very real thing from the highest ranked players on the SF4 leaderboards.

Of course, since you apparently lose no points for ragequitting (I haven't encountered yet myself), it doesn't make much a difference right now. I think Capcom will change that once the servers stabilize but it's gonna be chaotic for a while.

On that subject, a bunch of people on streams yesterday were accusing F. Champ of RQing his way to the top. Do we have any proof?
 
Matchmaking is extremely slow today and for the last 8 matches, every opponent had between 600 and 1000 LP more than me. Kind of sucks!

I started playing Ryu, reached super Bronze. Switched to Gief, went down to Bronze. Now I'm like five points away from Ultra Bronze. But I will be switching again soon. Learning the basics of the whole cast will be a rollercoaster :-D
 
fought my first Sim, compeltely destroyed. no idea at all what to do, always got hit by the teleport/fireball thing, even if i blocked like a crossup

If you don't fight people stronger than you, how will you improve?!

Not that people with high LP necessarily mean they're good, flow chart Ken will always dominate and appear in high leagues!

Personally, online has been good for me. Waits are generally quick, loading is generally quick. I've had several battle lounge matches. But, if your experiences are different, let them know.
 
Bison at level 30 is not fucking joke. First 25 are just punchbags (well 20-25 do block a bit but the other 20 don't) with the next 4 being a bit more intelligent depending on what you do but Bison? Dude came at me like a fucking freight train from the off. I really don't fancy doing that 15 more times let alone facing the horrors of Hard or Hell Survival.
 
Haven't played this game for a few days, good to hear Matchmaking is still terrible, haven't been missing out on anything! See you guys in another few weeks.

Only tried Survival twice. First time fighting Bison we were both down to one hit and he KO'd me. He had so little health that you couldn't even see it on his bar. I raged so fucking hard.

It's actually been really good for me? And most people I think. But then, normal matchmaking has been good for me since day 1, so
 
people need to check their ISPs tbh, my problem was on my end, sicne I fixd it with my ISP I can do lounges and get matches every 30 secs
