Kinda bummed, I've been too busy/tired for the last two days to play this properly :/ and I can't even play it rn because I'm still tired af and it's like 1 degree so I just want to be in my bed sheets lmao

I might be done. I just can't snap out of my 4 mentality at all and it's like my fingers just warp to try and throw someone aggressive on wakeup and I can't deal with the lack of invulnerable wakeup frames. I want to get back on the attack and even if I snap out of it and defend on wakeup, I'm pretty fucked usually still. Just feel like I've hit that wall.

Not helped that my last 5 matches were all against gold players.

How does quick rise actually work? Can I have a link to some document about it or something? I don't understand what is actually making me quick rise and how I can roll away from the opponent instead.

if youre playing gold that means you are at least silver, which means you are better than alot (most? lol) of us, and youre ready to call it quits? whut?

methinks thats the "u mad bro" talking :p

Ok, I've been matched against the same Vega 4 times in a row now, he's over 2k LP and I'm under 1.4k now. All of them close matches, all of them I lost.

Per the SF How To Play website:
Recovery

htp-recovery.jpg

Get up quickly after being knocked down by using Recovery. Input a direction OR press two or more Punch or Kick buttons at the same time after being knocked down by an opponent’s attack. If you time it right, you will get up quickly. There are two types of Recovery: Back and Neutral. See the diagram for instructions on how to perform both types.

After a week me and my friends still can't play together (UK). It's the first time I've managed to convince them to get a fighting game and now I just look like a dick as they feel like they've wasted their money and are already considering trading the game. So diasapointing
Big update is coming in March...maybe just play something else until server issues are fixed, if they are your fiends they should know you have good taste and wouldn't steer them wrong in recommending something fun, just tell em have patience.

Wouldn't it be nice if Capcom staged the demand was unprecedented and we weren't prepared for the massive amount of online players. Lol...

I'm thinking about getting this stick as my first one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019MMN94A/

Are there any opinions on it? The two reviews on amazon are good.

I essentially want something that's decent and inexpensive, since I'm shit at the game. If these are good though it could be cool to get two for when I can play locally.

My main concern is with comfort due to it being mini. Any feedback would be useful.

Went back through some replays of matches I knew were laggy, but didn't start that way until they started losing, mostly Lauras and Karins.... All PC. Think I'm gonna filter PS4 only for a bit as the alt+tab thing is getting out there.

Like it says, that advantage thing can happen naturally because of the code, but at least I know it won't be switched on by the opposite player.

I am just going to ask one more time to see if anyone else has a different opinion. I am not very good at this game. First fighting game. Have gotten better by watching a lot of videos, but no where near good. I have been playing casual. Should I go in and play ranked? Or is casual the place to stay until I get, quote on quote "good."

I would say throw your lot in with ranked. If you don't have any points, so you have nothing to lose. If it is too much pressure, or you are getting too frustrated, go back to casuals.Either way, it won't hurt to dabble.

Madcatz lockswitch vindicated

Oh shit, that's what it does? I figured it locked all the buttons for some reason.

Filtering out PC people makes me wait an age apparently. Had 2 fights thrown my way but came up with 1 bar connections, this is the longest i waited all night.

Never really paid attention, but I might have had mostly PC opponents. Heh.

Or like me, knock your tv remote and change HDMI screens lol. During ranked, cost me a round yesterday.

I'm currently playing in windowed mode, and browsing GAF in between matches. However, apparently it's not enough to simply bring the window back into focus, I have to click on it before my input starts registering .. so there has been a few close calls when the match starts and I have to lunge for my mouse.

The real question is: Why wouldn't you play Ranked?

It fascinates me how people equate Ranked to being forced to do well instead of competing in the ground you belong to. I mean, if you're super green you will either be matched with people that also are super green or people that iss starting now, indepently of their level.

I swear people is too obsessed with virtual numbers.

When will a fighting game have the option to turn off inputs from both sticks on a regualr(ds4) controller? Shit sucks when you have big thumbs and you bump the stick accidentally while rolling in inputs
Man, Capcom really needs to do something about ragequitters.
Was rolling a cammy with SIM and they quit before the first round was over lol.

Hey guys so I play on a 40" HDTV that has 40ms input lag with Game Mode on. Should I switch to my 23" PC monitor that has 22ms input lag, or would there hardly be a difference?

online stlil doesnt work for me. anyone else?

I'm at the point where I want to ask for a refund but cant because I've played over 6 hours... all searching for a match. what a load of garbage.

Casual and ranked are fine, but I think it'd be better to link up with someone and do long sets in the battle lounge. You'll be able to see how to adapt to different techniques (and vice versa). Really helps learn specific matchups. Where are you located? I'm always willing to learn/help out, but lately, I haven't been able to find anyone to play with at night (I'm west coast US).

If you are behind a firewall / router, can you try setting your computer as the DMZ. That's of course not recommended in general, so you should turn it off afterwards, but that'll help show if your problems are because connections are being blocked.
