Far Cry Primal |OT| The Land Before Towers

This game is awesome. Now I'm on a stone age trip. Are there any good books about this subject or set in a similar setting, either history books or works of fiction that are interesting?

GAF I made a video review for the game. I'm really value GAFs input and would love some contrustive critisism. Worked pretty hard on it so go easy on me. :P

Good job, watched the whole thing so timewise it was good as well covering the animal sidekicks and staying away from plot lines.
I'll probably pick this up later as I tend to enjoy Farcry but recently played 4 and need a break.

I've come across this blocked cave, tried burning the wood in front and clubbing it but nothing.

Has a "?" so there is something inside to discover.

Any ideas?

edit: reading on reddit about how other caves are like this, maybe an ability?

I just got a quest that leads me into this cave.
It's a sidequest given to you by a villager within your tribe village. You won't miss it.

(it's the "moon heart mushroom" quest.)

I love the fact that the game makes you happy about random encounters, because they'll be adding to your villager population, which in turn will increase your experience gain.

Enjoying this a lot so far. Game is beautiful as well.

Is there really no weather affects in the game though? That rainstorm in the beast master mission was just so damn promising.

Yeah the lack of dynamic rain is even more galling when you consider how good that storm looked. I really can't understand why rain is not part of the main game, unless its for technical reasons like the effects were tanking the framerate or something. My one disappointment so far.

This just sold me on the game. Subbed and liked, keep up the awesome work! :)

Good stuff man. I just subscribed.

Really? You guys are the best, thank you! <3

Ya thats one bonus above many other titles where it would be just like influence.

usually, you're able to farm your own (rare) tamed pet for it's skin - but not the freaking honeybadger. He just self-resurrects. Fuckin honeybadger doesn't give a shit ... about my crafting needs.

The map is huge. I'm close to 30 hours in and just uncovered portions of it near the end of that time.

Some of it you won't see unless you venture out of your way and go for the legendary hunts.

Beautiful world

Oh my god at the (early game spoiler)
animal spirit / owl trip.
That was so utterly amazing to me. This game is just so much more than I bargained for haha

GAF, hold me, I can't stop playing.

The setting helps a lot, Ice Age is awesome, Ubi should stick with these "ancient" eras in Far Cry games, just get rid of the modern age Far Cry and give me more Primals-like.

And of course, give me a Far Cry with Dinos.

Lets be honest.
Who here though the first spirit scene(animals) was probably prerendered at first lol. Or some other fakery? It looked almost too good for a second. And before anyone freaks I just mean right when it flashed up before you could pixel count and all that

During the very first spirit scene with the owl? You mean right after you drink the blood Tensay gives you? Because that part with the yellow looking aimals didn't particularly strike me as anything really special to be honest, certainly not any better than everything before this. I am curious exactly what you mean. :)

Whoever decided to put in the fucking mamoth section needs to be fired. Ive died 6 or 7 times now and its 0 fun. I dont understand how that passed QA, who the hell decided to keep that section in the game its also completely out of place. I cant be the only whos utterly annoyed by this??

I picked up this and that Agatha Christie game yesterday. Decided to play that first (which was a good decision as I'm about to finish it), gonna start this tonight. Huge Far Cry fan, can't wait to play.

It's pretty bad. Thankfully it's just DLC, and not integral to the game.

I beat everything else, but said fuck it after a few goes at that. It just wasn't fun, and was cheap.

Man, this game is so pretty...

YA the transition between normal nd the north is especially striking as is their use of colored lighting and the shader effects. Its all together a damn striking looking console title. PC and higher res might look insane.

Only ten pages, what a shame. Hope to see more talk with PC release.

I wasn't expecting much GAF excitement for this game. It may be pretty and have a cool setting but it's still just more Far Cry, and after 3, Blood Dragon, and 4 coming out within such close proximity to each other, it's not surprising people are wanting a break from the series to play other games.

Ubisoft needs to make the next Far Cry game a genuine advancement from its predecessors, not that I anticipate that happening since it is Ubisoft we're talking about here.

So can't wait till Tuesday on PC... I am very intrigued by the atmosphere and the world in general. First time in while haven't gone the PS4 route for a AAA, but it's been a busy, and thanks to some of your footage, am so ready for it... It'seems going to be nice to just roam this world and take in all the sights and sounds... Imagine this type of game, atmosphere in 4K... With you guys loving the world and soaking it in, this is gonna be a long weekend :)

The Agatha Christie game is actually supposed to be pretty good. Not great, but solid.

Eighty-five hours!? Holy shit. And I thought playing 30 hours in about 3-4 days was a lot, given that I did pretty much everything I could.

What all have you been doing during that time?

Hud off hard or expert difficulty. Nuff said lol

Shit moved up to hard and man, a small trek across the map to an objective turned into about an hour of battling, chasing, hunting, running, healing, killing, hiding and dying... lol

It's awesome. Thank goodness the respawns are pretty quick

Oh shit, thanks! Thought it was one of the main missions of the game. Backing off now

You're talking about the mammoth mission where you are the mammoth and rhinos are attacking you, right? That's a downloadable extra that comes as a code, and is inside the game case.

As a big fan of FC4 I think this game is surprisingly good. The atmosphere is fantastic

I do kinda miss sniper rifles but other than that the mechanics are great.

Thanks, i bought the game digitally and didnt realize i had any dlc. Thought it was part of the campaign, so glad i can skip it

When you find big branches/trunks in front of a cave what are you supposed to do? They don't seem to burn and hitting them with the club doesn't do anything.

I didn't know it was part of the digital version. I can understand the confusion, then.

I got a code with my copy, and the missions became available as soon as the game went live. I got a notification saying I could get it (or them - I never completed the one) from Tensey.
