What do you guys do when you know you are matched with a known rage quitter? Do you play them or do you quit to save time?

Had a dude RQ on me a few days ago, played him again yesterday...beat him and still RQ'd lol

Next time ill just back out during the character screen

Spent time practising with Ken and figuring out his more meaty combos and some links into V-skill/Critical Art. Playing through survival with him whilst searching for online matchups.

On a 15 game win streak at the moment in ranked. Feels good to see practise pay off!!

Also, not too confident playing against Rashid, Laura and Fang. Haven't come across many who use them yet.

yeah, when i see a ragequitter with like a 40wins streak I just quit the match when it starts

Why would I play knowing I won't get points if I win and I will lose them if I lose? thats bs

If I ever run into a rage quitter that I've seen before, I'd just stand still like I'm AFK the whole match, and then drop on him just before the KO.

Perfectly sums it up lol. Just how i feel being in the TK camp but have to say sf5 is making the wait extremely enjoyable.

While I've faced some good ones, I have yet to find a Dhalsim I truly fear. However, I play Rashid, and you can eagle spike a fireball from near fullscreen on reaction which is a big help.

Throws are 5 frames, same with giefs SPD. Snake Eyez said his EX SPD is supposedly throw invincible so that one beats all throws. Not sure how priority works when both throw and SPD are on same frame.

Throws beats strikes when active on same frame, so it could be that this is what happened to your crouching jab.

Your last case might be a thing of one of you being outside of throw range and the one who misses has increased hurtbox which puts him into throw range.

They were all regular SPD when using the V-Trigger and on wake up. The only time an EX SPD came out was baiting the regular throw. And the priority would probably be random like with SF4.

As for Normals vs Regular throw, My hand just passes through Zangief's model while he just crouch.

Or keep the match going and makes them think you're evenly match, and at the last minute when they're about to win you RQ.

This is the first Tekken I'm really excited for. I enjoyed 6, TTT2 wasn't my jam, although it did have Skinny Bob, but I'm ever a fan of tag games is what I'm realizing. I like that 1 on 1 stuff.

TTT2 had such great netcode too, and so I have faith in Harada's team to deliver a great package. Plus they have SF5 to look at and go "okay...let's not skip on any content since they got whipped for it."

So many good redesigns on characters too. Thinking I'll try to pick up Steve Fox or King when it drops.

Tekken is really poised to be a hot ticket when it drops. Game needs better announcers in its community. Not going to call out any names, but it's TOO technical and boring to listen to.

Meanwhile in SF5 land. Does anyone have any tips on how to beat hard mode survival with Vega?

Regular (non-invincible) Air SPD beats Karin's EX Rassenha at point blank range

This despite the fact that I have yet to grab any other DP move in that way

I've grabbed a Laura out of her qcf+hp anti-air. She wasn't even in recovery, i just did my spd (regular, not EX) directly before it hit me and the spd won :/

Does anyone have a good block string for Necalli? I'm having a lot of problems lately now that people are switching styles from rushdown to patient/countering. I need some way to change up my game and apply pressure if needed, but nothing I do feels particularly safe.

Oh to have Rashid's block strings....

Does anyone play Fang here or is it just me? So far for over a week of playing i only met ONE Fang player, UK btw.

I play him, used him exclusively in Ranked last evening save a couple of matches where I went back to Birdie. Before that, had been using him a lot in Battle Lounge.

His HK stomp is +0.

Yeh there really needs to be a 'block player' option. I get matched with these kids that just spam crouching lights the whole time. Sure, I'll take the win but that shit aint fun to play :(

Can someone explain why I see a lot of comments in various places stating that Bison is OP? I really don't see it. I think he's a good online week 1-2 character because people don't know how to punish his stuff and his dash confuses people, but imo he's not even in the top 3.

I'm trying to look at this positively: more rage quits in succession must be a sign I'm improving.

Edit: 3 in a row. First was Ken, then Ryu, the Chun-Li. Lovely.

Last time I checked, he was no.2 though I guess that may have changed.

Bison is certainly not OP, but he is most definitely a good character. It's more the fact that so much of his stuff is safe so you have to be either more defensive than usual or be smarter regarding your offense.

How the hell do you even approach Nash? He can just spam all of his sonic booms from full screen and I can't do anything about it :I Cant' approach, If he gets in a corner he either teleports out or manages to get away, jumping in = eating his AA move.

Frustrating

I think he's one of the Top chars in the game, up there with Chun and Sim. But to answer your question: because there're a lot of crybabies in the world.

Only way to get in on a good nash is to have better footsies, which can be hard if your character doesn't have good normals(most of nash's normals are really damn good).

who are you? depending on your character you might have a bunch of other options

I am seriously starting to think about ditching Ryu for someone else. Never was a big fan of shotos anyway. Does any character play similarly to Boxer? Used to play Dictator in SFIV but he feels weird without Psycho Crusher. Might still give him a spin.

You play Chun right? Walk forward and block. When you are in footsies range you have better normals than him so use them. Use sLK whenever he does his moonsault. Punish his sonic booms with her CA

he's high in the online rankings but hardly any pros are maining him.

based on the beta and my current experience nobody in the lower ranks knows how to deal with him and I steamroll for free. But in the beta past 1000 lp I had to completely change up how I played the character. You have to work WAY harder once you run into people who don't panic at teleports, know how to block low, have something resembling a wakeup game etc.

It's like me vs Laura, I never win because I don't know what the character is even doing because I haven't put in the time. I don't know what's unsafe, all her moves look like the same identical elbow crap. The same happened with Karin until I put in some practice.

Necalli is the closer you'll get in this roster.

I rotate between Birdie, Laura, Mika, Ryu and Fang. That's my typical order of frequency. The thing about Fang is I can tell people get extra frustrated. If I land the flappy bird in a battle lounge set, you can take it to Vegas that the opponent is going to quit out.

I play Chun, so really I shouldn't have as much trouble vs him considering her normals are great. But yeah, I think I try to stay back too much :I

Yep, thanks for the tips, i'll stop standing bakck then. Kikoken really can't win projectile wars

Althought, his fHP has a longer range than my normals, I remember playing a nash that would use that move a lot and my normals would get stuffed everytime

Ugh, I wish I could explore more characters like this. Right now I feel like I'm barely above water online by sticking to Mika exclusively.

Similar situation for me, only the order is Bison,F.A.N.G,Birdie and Gief in that order. It's also arranged in order of skill.

You can try to time Cr. MP as well to gain some terrain over fast fireballs.

But reading the bolded comment, yeah, I think your problem is that you're too afraid of him and aren't playing Chun's game at all. Fights are won by leading the fight to your terrain.

Is Ken's v.Skill run ever safe off of a blocked normal?

When's the best time to use the run, outside of crush counters or hitting st.HP? Is there a way to OS the run?
