Bison is easily the best character in this game....I'm so tired of his + everything attacks hahah....fuck man....I'll learn how to beat this asshole soon enough.

Ahhhhh! For the love of me I can't figure out how to not get myself caught up in those cross ups. Teach me the ways!

Dash forward out of the way if you think it will be one. If you dash forward out of it the person doing the cross up just sits there like an idiot. It's so satisfying.

Bison and Laura are my toughest matchups right now.

Also, once again, screw this games matchmaking. 4 silver/gold players in a row, and now I'm back down to super bronze.

Every time I hear this, I take it as a confession that the poster can't block.

I don't think its an issue of not knowing how to block, it's just that his normals are really good and it's hard to know when there's an opening, leading to a lot of attempts that get stuffed.

Just took my laura online for the first time, went 8/10. Lost to a Ryu and a Ras. I really didn't know how to respond to that guys Ras as I have 0 experience playing against him.. his movements were so erratic. I am a dirty casual scrub though still not ready for the ranked. This game really gets the adrenaline going and online play is the quickest way to learn what works and doesn't work with your character.. the AI let's you get away with some super cheese especially on it's wake ups.

Am I missing something with the CPU guard actions? I'm trying to set them to v-reversal, and it comes out while I record it, but when I actually set it they never actually do it.

When you're recording the action, you have to time it so that the game actually acknowledges it as a "Reversal" on the side of the screen.

So I won my first match last night... after about my 10th attempt since getting the game. Me and some other noob spamming Ryu fireball.

Damn I need practise.

Also...please god! People! Stop jumping into Sim fireball. When he throws that bs double dash up and pressure him. He will most likely teleport right after he throws it....if he doesn't throw that bitch! Or just go to town on him if you open him up!

I'd check out Floe's videos on YouTube when it comes to Karin. Dude is a beast with her. He even posted some new tech for her not to long ago.

I'll check that out. Thanks.

I'm working with Karin myself. Hit me up if you'd like to get a battle lounge going for some training.

I would love to, but school might take up my time and I don't have ps+ at this moment.

I'm really hitting a slump here...I was such a beast in SFIV yet in this game I feel completely lost. It's hitting me really hard emotionally. When this happened while learning to play SFIV I felt compelled to just make the next match better than the last. It was motivation when I lost. Now I, just feel empty and want to give up. I don't think I have what it takes to learn this game. I'm not driven the same way and it makes me sad to realize that.

I'm sure a lot of this is getting used to his new fireball arc. Free punny w/ karin when you remember doe

GO home and be a family man! j/k

This makes me a little sad to read! It will come to you. I feel this game is more like a traditional SF. I'm sure it will click

Beginning to be ok (like 10% wp lol) with Dhalsim.

Struggling do the input for his teleport though? Any tips for that Z shaped manoeuvre?

Decided to buy the guide and also going to pull the trigger on a Hori Mini to see if that helps a bit.

Really, really loving the game even as a dirty losing noob scrub!

It's the same motion as a dragon punch, it's just a notation system that not a lot of people have seen. Think of it as a forward or backward, then almost a fireball/hurricane kick but hit the punches or kicks before getting to horizontal.

I think in my ~80 online ranked matches so far I've come up against one Cammy.

Seems like barely anyone is using her or Chun Li (who I've probably seen only 4 or 5 times).

Worst day ever fall back down to silver and to top it off when I get a match to rank up I get two Point Saves (I doubt its rage at this point its just cheating) then on the third match I am absolutely destroying this guy first round I get hit once second round I haven't even gotten hit yet (poor guy) then boom the power goes out in my entire area because of this dumb ass blizzard........ Yeap done for the night.

I had a rough losing night too.

Will chill out by watching own replays and doing some normal survival for Laura. Normal survival CPU doesn't block jumps :D

Man, the number of Nash players in ranked is outrageous. He easily outnumbers everyone else bar Ryu and Ken. Ranked is nothing but safe ass normals and whatever stupid safe specials he's got. They jump all day too since they know Karin can't do shit against it. The only way to beat him is to stay all over him. This reminds me of Arakune fights in Blazlbue where all Arakune players fell apart once you stay on them. Of course, he wasn't half as terrifying as Nash is. I even managed to snag me a rage quitting 2000+ LP Nash on a six win streak just as I was on the verge of getting back into ultra bronze league. Luckily I ran into another Nash with almost the same amount of LP so I spent the whole fight terrified I was going to get ragequit on again.

Capcpom pls

Are all normals safe or something? This transition from SF4 to SF5 isn't very fun.

Laura in particular as Ryu. She goes ham on me and I have no idea what to do.

Man I am having a blast with this game. I played about 50 hours of USFIV but I could never really get into it, or good at it, but I am doing much better at this one. It just feels so much looser and free-er where IV always felt really stiff to me.

This opinion makes no sense to me. 5 is way stiffer than 4

Some characters like Bison, Nash and Chun have a lot of safe normals, but the latter two are way more mash friendly. Honestly, Nash reminds me of 3S Chun, but without the broken vertical hitboxes. He just does what he wants. Thankfully his defensive options outside of V-Reversal are not good. If he had a good invul DP he would be the undisputed #1 of this game.

There are quite a few heavies that are plus on block in this game.

That's true. There is a lot of safe stuff around and things with tight punish windows. Personally, I am looking harder at my spacing and movement and putting myself in good spots to punish or start my pressure.

On a side note, Chun is the one making me most angry with her normals, haha.

FFS can PS4 players stop using the shitty wifi and use LAN? Almost 75% of games with PS players is a laggy mess!

Well... it's a two way street. I have removed PC players from the search as in my own experiences almost all of you guys are jitterbugs yourselves.

I'm hardwired in but yeah, no idea why anyone would want to play a fighter wireless.

Sweeps are unsafe, target combos seem to be pretty unsafe on block, too. Some heavy normals are bad/unsafe on block. Most SF4 normals were safe on block.

I can block just fine. The problem with Bison is that he is very hard to do stuff against. He can pressure safetely for days with his axe charge kick and long range normal moves that'll crush counter you if you dare try and hit back ( I'm a Mika player, I'm a t.rex by comparrison ).

I'm glad to see other people enjoying Alex Valle's stream. I don't have the game yet, but he's my favorite streamer to watch. He's 37 years old, which is pretty inspiring for a fast-reflex game. He seems very chill and has a good attitude even when he loses. He also seems genuinely happy when he wins, and makes you want to root for him.

I don't usually have the sound on so I don't hear the tips, but I read he's informative too.
