Here's one of the problems as I see it.

This isn't the exact size of the Vita screen, I think the Vita screen is actually smaller than this (depending on what display you're neogaffing on), but you see the game is designed to be far out enough that if you shrink it a bunch everything is very small.

It'd either be A) shitty to play on a vita or B) require a lot of effort to retool for vita.

I hear ya, I'm no game designer I just know I love playing stuff on my Vita, especially sidescrolling stuff.

Some games can't be stuffed into it though. Sides, who's going to be buying it on Vita anyway? PC and PS4 are where it's at.

I remember playing Rayman Origins on Vita and thinking it was terrible. Everything was just too small.

i pretty much gave up with the setup of lumberyard so it looks like i'm gonna try to get unity to work. if not that then I'll stick with a 2d game I'll program in LÖVE but i just figured out how to make the mechanics to work better in my 3d idea that i'd rather do that



you should ask nintendo for an NX dev kit imo to appease your nintendo fans

Nintendo ain't givin NX kits to just about anybody, it's cray.

Stencyl is mainly used as a teaching aid and for people who want to tinker with browser or mobile games, but it does have a full .exe option and it can be used to do quite a bit more than most people probably expect. Me using it for this happened orgnically, because it was what I was learning programming concepts on back in 2012 -- And eventually I started prototyping Ghost Song on it, and seeing as how everything kept working well before you knew it I was making the actual game that way.

I've run into enough stupid ass problems (a LOT of just really obnoxiously dumb QOA stuff) that I think it'd be unwise to use it for another large project, but it's certainly nice for prototyping and learning.
