I don't know what I've done but I've managed to fuck training stage enough to make it a completely empty black void, which is great for colourful characters like Mika but shit for anyone with any kind of black on them lol.

Also it's annoying, hair physics stops these from being able to loop perfectly like pixel art would be able to.

Wow that's beautiful! Would it be possible to get Nash? Maybe he'd loop better *wink wink*

What are you doing to key out the BG in photoshop? Didn't know that was possible without going frame by frame.

I'll test Nash now, I think I've fixed the stage...

I have a custom action set up and I just have to press it for every frame I want :P

Basically I just select -> colour range -> the background colour
delete that selection
reselect similar colour range
delete that selection
next frame

rinse and repeat! :)

I still think sim will go down in rankings once people start to find holes in his game. Once you get in on him, he can have a really hard time getting out

Yo can you get Cammy's idle animation

Ha, I win a few matches then the game decided to place me against a Nash in the top 100.

Not that I mind, had a good fight and I learnt not to press buttons after Moonsault. I lost of course, but now I know something... though I don't know what to do after Moonsault, I know what not to do... seriously though, what do I do? the SRK wiki says it's +2 on guard?

Awesome, do one for Karin now

You need After Effects my friend.

Then you don't do anything.
edit: v-reversal it.

Press buttons before Moonsault. Treat it as a regular jump in attack.

What do I do to stop it happening then? Or threaten it away?

With bisons scissors you can neutral jump a few times and he'll go away. Nash doesn't stop. I know I can interupt it on reaction with a neutral jump normal but that seems like a pretty crappy strategy to depend upon.

If you have a slide, like Dhalsim, you can go under it and make them whiff. The moonsault I found you can stuff it if you see them go to the air because it actually seems to take a while before it goes active. My Bison has stopped a lot of moonsaults with air to air mp and mk.

edit: With Bison getting the double mp target combo in the air to air allows you to get a special after, so it's definitely worth it.

Oh my goodness, I beat a guy considerably higher rank than me and he didn't disconnect. Time to send this guy a thank you!

Seriously this hasn't happened in days.

I know that feel bro, had the same with a Birdie earlier.

That looks rad.

And yeah, hair physics in this game are out of control. Crouch down with Chun-Li's battle costume or Cammy's braids and sometimes they just freak the fuck out.

I think it will be quicker using FFmpeg. Not an easy tool to use, tho.
I've never used it before unfortunately :/

I was honestly kinda surprised that they used the footage they did in the battle costumes trailer, Cammy's braids looked terrible there :P
Post it even if it turns out bad :p
I'm doing it atm cus it's a good test for characters with black clothes. I'll post it when I'm done (probably another 15-20 mins)

Last 5 matches (I am Rashid)

Rashid (1530) vs Nash (900) Win / +25
Rashid (1555) vs Fang (2200): Win / Disconnect
Rashid (1555) vs Birdy (3400): Win / Disconnect
Rashid (1555) vs Ryu (2800) Win / Disconnect
Rashid (1555) vs Ryu (1800) Loss / - 65

Rashid (1495)

Fuck this fucking game. :P

Seriously I am having fun just playing the game but there's only so much I can take here. I have to wait around 3 minutes to actually get a match (which doesn't sound like a lot but in my opinion, it's terrible when matchmaking lasts longer than game time) and then on most matches I get nothing for it!

I don't know if this is just my crappy luck or there are really this many people disconnecting, but honestly with the majority of my wins disconnecting I really do not see how I am supposed to rank up. I am struggling to increase in rank and that struggle wouldn't be anywhere near as significant if it wasn't for a good 60% of my wins ending in disconnections.

If we take this session above for instance, I should have gained over 100 points, but instead because of DQs, I've lost 50. That's messed up, man, and it feels like RNG, because I can't predict when this is going to happen. If I want to get to silver I just need to get that lucky streak of opponents that don't RQ.

I don't really blame them though, like, I'm not mad at the players. It's completely Capcom's fault here.
Both of them share blame if you ask me.

I don't know which character(s) you're using, but I'm working with Bison. Today I decided to hunt for options against Nash in the training mode.

Here's what I came up with regarding MS.

A. Standing Roundhouse can beat and even crush counter Moonsault. It seemed easiest to land against Ex. MS.

B. Crouching Fierce is also a good anti-MS option. You can beat it cleanly or even trade if later input.

C. Jump Roundhouse or Fierce is a good way to intercept MS.

D. Ex Head Press wins if out before kick (slash) animation, otherwise trade or loss if too late.

The thing about A-D is that it is all pretty easy when you know what to expect, but it is important to me (as Bison user) to develop strong R&R (Read & React) to pull this stuff off against good-great Nash players so that MS pressure is one less thing to be concerned about.

E. All versions of MS are positive on block, so do not attempt to attack after blocking. Of course, V-Reversal is an option to avoid getting to that point.

F. If you can react quickly (before kicks), V-Trigger (pause) then dash forward. You can punish Nash while Ex.MS is still active. If you have CA available, there you go.

Gotta love playing against your best friend who is also your Street Fighter sparring partner for the last 20 years. We just did FT3 sets for about an hour. He ends up taking 4 out of 7. We are always evenly matched, back and forth like that. The best and most tense battles always result.

Street Fighter for life!!

How would you guys feel about the idea of being able to gamble/bet your fight money?

I feel that it would no doubt turn this game into something gross but if that were not the case, would you do it?

once everybody uses their fight money on the first or second character no one is going to fucking have fight money to gamble considering how little you get from online matches and how dumb as hell survival mode is.

I'll take any top 3 global leaderboard's word as gospel, preach fchamp.

I like how you talk as if its some random nobody lol
"this dude"
Can you refute him?
The 16ers are here lol

The fuck? I actually agree with FChamp that Ken's the best in the game. I didn't dispute him nor was I hinted at it.

Dudes need to relax and stop being so defensive it's not that serious lol. I was just laughing at the Dudley comment since I didn't expect that comparison this early.

It happens a lot in the FGC (I may or may not have lost money in Vegas last year), but if we are betting those Bison Dollars, I don't see why not. Premium costumes will still cost real money, it can make unlocking non-premium things more easier for many people. Plus it can be pretty hype to spectate a match and have something on the line. Though many places have anti-gambling laws, even on fake money.

How is the PS3 stick compatibility? My PS4 stick didn't ship yet, but I have a PS3 stick. However, I don't want to bring it to a local tournament if the setup is a pain in the ass.

Here's a vid if it helps.

Legacy is annoying but it works. If you want it to be even more painless you could just get a brook converter. It's what I've been using and so far no issues with it in tournies or otherwise.

Nice, take your time :)
fucking karin lmao
WLYmBsl.gif

took me waaaaay longer than I expected :P

for anyone that cares, the issue is that having any kind of texture in that stage causes bounce lighting which shows up on the character models, sort of like a fog. So using the typical chroma key green means that it's super easy to cut out the characters... but they're all green tinged.
using white creates a fog over everything
using NO textures fixes that, but photoshop isn't clever enough to distinguish between black on clothes and the black of the scene.
so for characters with black clothes I have to use this sort of middling grey colour which doesn't cause much bounce lighting but is also at the same sort of shade as a lot of midtones on characters... so they become much harder to cut out (like Karin)

hope that was interesting for someone. If I could find a way to turn off bounce lighting it would be perfect...
