Now that you mention it I had 0 interest in playing these characters until I watched him. Plus, literally in all the times I've watched SF4 be broadcast I had never heard PR Rog speak. It's now that he's streaming SF5 I got to hear his voice. He's a super charming guy.

Yeah, he seems super fucking happy like... all the time. Even in tournaments he's smiling.

Back on the dreamcast with cvs and cvs2 I got a bunch of calluses on my thumb because the dreamcast dpad is raised very high and the edges are pretty sharp.
I remember one session I got a blister on my thumb, so I just repositioned my thumb placement till I got a blister there too ;P

I've dubbed it the streetfighter thumb.

Aye well on my way to that then, got a bit of a blister now hoping it hardens soon!

Spent today trying to unlock colors in Normal, couldn't manage to get any. Getting pretty sick of getting to Bison and losing to a series of perfect blocks and like 2 combos

Mika's buttons really do suck compared to his lmao

When trying her yesterday after being used to Gief I just started laughing at how shit they are in comparison.

Still, they can work. Her st. mk seems to counter lows from gief when I faced competant Mika's and her slide goes under the godlike st. mk of Gief I think

Man, after having played Mika since beta I am kinda loosing faith. Her buttons are so bad compared to pretty much everyone in the roster. It's pretty painful. All these shenenigans and mixups are useless with buttons like this it feels sometimes.

Either the Dualshock 4 is even more poop than the DS3 or my ability to pull off charge attacks reliably has gone down the crapper, can't even do much with a casual FANG as a result.

How did this not work? I felt like a genius for like 300ms

For Bison, I try and cheese a knockdown at the very start of the round. He is okay to fight against in survival if you can set up a cross up attack into a combo that knocks him over again when done. If you find yourself out of this balance, just spam a special that has any kind of priority until you feel safe to try and cross him up again. His anti air isn't the best but he does try to use it, he wont always connect with it.

Took me forever to get used to Mika's normals, they're way wackier than Gief's. Sucks to whiff attacks because you expect something to come out of her crouching MP other than a little hop.

I think her buttons are legit you just need to know when and where to use them.

I want to learn Mika just because people keep saying she sucks, lol. Can I have her Alpha costume, Capcom? Please?
I don't know, but there was a Mika in the top 8 (top 16?) for one of the fighting tournaments yesterday. It was a smaller tournament but it was still neat to see.

Apparently, I do not.

Depending on your character, you can low profile it consistently with a crouching attack. There was a Chun-Li I went up against who would always do some sort of low kick right as the drop kick landed over her, meaning she wasn't put in block stun and could punish accordingly.

Alternatively, just jump over it. The point is to never block it.

How is rank calculate in this game? I'm just curious because sometimes I'm getting matched - in Ultra Bronze - against users who have roughly the same or even a few more points than me but yet have a lower rank to the tune of like 40,000. When I do get matched against people closer to my rank, they're all high Silver and Super Silver and almost always blow me away.

WTF is with this matchmaking. I'm now finally in a solid Ultra Bronze rank and the game is giving me 4000 und 5000+ LP opponents lol

The rank is just slow, it takes a while to catch up.
It's all about LP

Yeah, but you managed to have it ready every time my FANG or Rashid was getting off the ground.

I like the alternate reality where I play Dhalsim... because in this one it will never be possible. He's such a cool character in SF5.

Yeah, but you managed to have it ready every time my FANG or Rashid was getting off the ground.

Oh right, you were that opponent! Yeah, on knockdown, it's pretty much Mika's game there. Aside from those compromising situations, though, the MU is pretty much FANG and Rashid's, as they control the momentum in the neutral game.

I dropped Laura to focus more on Mika. Sorry bae, I'm all about the blondes now.

Mostly doing it because I hate having to play defensively w/ Laura in certain matchups.
Are you me or what?

I feel like an idiot when I use that by accident. It looks so goofy.
Yeah, that's the number one reason I should REALLY drop Laura and this bad habit of throwing cr.MP all the time...

Mika's a momentum monster. If you can't get out of her rhythm after the first knockdown, you're looking at a stun, and a corner carry coming with the next combo.

She's the only character I can get consistent perfect KOs with in Survival.

Well, uh... good luck with Mika, heh.

Only when it's no longer the neutral game and Mika is finally all up in the opponent's face. Other than that, Rashid and FANG are definitely the characters who control the pace of the game. While it's the neutral game, Mika has to carefully approach and defend all their crazy zoning stuff, and then she can finally play when she's on the offense. At that point, yeah, it's definitely about maintaining that momentum.

I dunno man, he seems bad, especially if the opponent gets in on you, he's so slow and don't think he has any reversals out of pressure.

Think Mike rose uses him though, I'd look up his matches on YouTube

It feels like I should use V Skill more, gain V Meter and force action out of my opponents. The fact that he has traps and responses at any range makes it seem to me that Birdie players want people to attack them.
