Or you can just go into your network request settings on and set the preferred connection and turn on battle confirmation to avoid the headache.

I do do that. But sometimes it says it's a 5 bar connection then still lags like shit. Whether it's the other person being on WiFi, they alt tabbed or just a weaker signal after connecting I doesn't matter. Still happens.

Basically their netcode doesn't distribute rollbacks properly between both players but loads them all off onto only one of them. So if you force a delay, via alt+tabbing or other means, your opponent is gonna get proper rekt while everything stays silky smooth for you. Just alt+tabbing in menus or during loading screens shouldn't do anything though, only when the match has already begun.

Does this happen if the window loses focus? I've taken to just play it windowed with SFV on my TV and GAF on my monitor and just click into the window when a match comes my way. Like, would that end up causing issues for people?

To be clear I'm not alt-tabbing between rounds, the window is always up, running at full speed just not the focus window (control inputs don't do anything if it's not in focus).

Nothing bad is happening unless you're actively doing it during the match.

Wtf, got disconnected from server when I lost a match against a Mika. I bet it will look like I ragequitted, ugh. Capcom fix this shit.
I apologize towards the R.Mika player.

I was nice enough to wait 40 seconds for an AFK player to come back (after giving him a single smack for good measure), and when losing in the last round he taunts me. I was nice to you, ya bastard!

Street Fighter 5's netcode is definitely better, but the matchmaking can fail and a bad connection is a bad connection no matter what fancy code is involved. 3rd Strike Online uses GGPO which is the gold stanard, and anything passed 200ms ping is a teleport-fest (and understandably so).

This plus Alt-F4 ragequitting is the reason why I only play PS4 opponents anymore. At least they have to out in work to be scummy.

yeah, like mnz the vast majority of folk who've rq'd on me have been ps4 players too. didn't someone say it's home/x/x or something? that doesn't seem like much work.

You can't ALT F4 on PC. At least I can't. You have to minimize the game and close it manually. PS4 can quit out just as quick with the home button.

I finally completed Survival with Laura on Normal.

I couldn't remember my heart pumping so hard for a videogame since I finished Ouendan on the last difficulty level.

Well, guys, it's decided. I'm going back to Ryu for the first time since my glory days with him on the SNES. Any specific things I should be learning first? I know MP is your friend. Aside from that, he is pretty basic, which is good, but I'd rather be an aggressive Ryu most of the time so any tips towards that end are appreciated. Right now, I still play him as late 90's Ryu! Also, do they have Hyper Fighting Ice Blue as an unlockable color??
Unfortunately not. Can see all the colours here.

I went up against a laggy Vega(It's as bad as you imagine) and then rage quits after winning.

Once you hit 2k, The game decides that you have too much points pitting you from Rage quitters and high ranking players while rarely playing someone around you're LP.

That's hysterical.

I do as well.

This game has way too much pressure and rushdown. I kinda would have liked a proper zoner in this cast.
There are proper zoners in this game. It's just that those zoners also ended up being more flexible if given the opportunity, like how Dhalsim and Guile were in Super Turbo.

If Sims real win % is that high and stays that high, i'll be shocked if they go a year without tweaking him down.
He won't be tweaked down when his online win rate is inflated due to match-up unfamiliarity. Never mind online statistics being the opposite of a valuable metric in the first place.

I think I'm just gonna do everyone's normal survival and call it a day. Hard mode 50 battles takes too long, only going to do it with Ken/Ryu/Laura/Nash and those last 3 will already jeopardize my sanity.

Man, I hope the daily challenges give a decent amount of fight money, how they heck are we supposed to hit 1,000,000 FM for the trophy? It's crazy I say! Crazy!!

That's my biggest problem with it all. A hell run is over an hour, and for most, not fun at all. The thought of dedicating 24 hours (or more, depending on success) to get all the titles is insane to me.

I don't expect anything until towards the end of the month. Capcom is probably focused on all sorts of things to get challenges, 8 player lobbies, the store, and Alex out the door.

I wouldn't be surprised if pieces get delayed. Their launch wasn't as smooth as they had hoped for I imagine.

That said...I hope Alex is out ASAP.

Like I said before, if they have any of that stuff done right now, they need to release it ASAP. Don't wait. Drip feed it for the entire month.

So looking at my stats on the fighter ID site, Karin FUCKS me UP. Have a solid win rate against everyone else but with her it's 18%. What in the fuck.

I gotta practice more against her. I think I'm playing against her all wrong. I just try and wait for her to do punishable things but don't really pressure her. She just scares me man. (Nash)

Wow .. that Laura literally never blocked except when they happened to walk backwards. I'm surprised that they had actually managed to win matches before.

That looked like it was more of a stick problem than anything tbh

SFV's netcode is unquestionably better than 4's IMO

It's frustrating when there's a laggy match in SFV but on the whole I've gotten a lot less input delay than I did in 4

Yeah, V's "good" is better than IV's best imo. I set it to 5 bars and have no complaints. My only teleporty matches were during the beta.

So I was looking at Laura to see if there was anything I could do to rescue her outfit without mesh editing and I legit don't think there is

her boob crevasse is so DEEP and they're so ROUND

March 31st 11:59 pm for delay announcement
please understand

Whoever voiced Mika did a fantastic job. It makes me wanna use her even though I don't like grapplers.

I congratulated her on a job well done on twitter and she was super appreciative of it. I agree though, the English VA for Mika is great.

Are there any good resources for Rashid?

Someone posted a BnB for him a week or two ago but I found that a little hard to follow because I couldn't find a breakdown for what the inputs actually were.

Meanwhile PS4 is full of wi-fi warriors who essentially lagswitch by default
Y'all are making me nervous about starting with this game. I have two PS4's - one is wired, the other wireless but I get much more opportunity to play on the wireless one. :(

Hasn't given me any grief in Destiny, but I guess this will be different. I'll give it a try and if it's unplayable I'll look and see if I can find a way of getting it wired up.

I'm starting to believe that the lag issues with wi-fi connections are an issue with SFV and not necessary a "it's your internet" issue. Realistically a video game shouldn't have that many issues over a solid wireless connection like that.

The thing with Wi-Fi in SFV specifically is that it's gonna look fine on your end most of the time, it's your opponents who'll have to deal with a teleporting mess

My main two are:
s.mp -> s.mk xx lp spinning mixer (qcf) or lk eagle spike (qcb)
c.hp -> s.mp xx mp or EX eagle spike (if EX, juggle with mp or hp spinning mixer)
(-> means link, xx means cancel)

The first one is important because s.mp -> s.mk is a frame trap since s.mp is +2.
The second one is important because c.hp is a good meaty, and does quite a bit of damage with EX.

EDIT - and for fun, corner crush counter combo!

s.hp xx EX tornado projectile xx roll -> c.fp -> s.mp xx whatever
