There are queer, black, and female-identifying people who associate themselves with gamer gate or stand for some of the proposed ideals. Why do so many assume that it's only angry men? Like, I totally fell out of trying to find in-depth info since Boogie made his "i am not a Bigot vid" due to conflicting information, but even then it was quite diverse.

There are a bunch of naive folks caught up in it for sure, but that's not really what gamergate's origins are; it's explicitly an attempt by a stalker to ruin his ex's life. The core group driving the real motive are all angry man-children MRAs. There's a bunch of naive folks caught up in the cover story who get used as a defense whenever someone generalizes about GG, but GG was from the jump off a harassment campaign and anyone who bought into the cover story should feel pretty sheepish about it by now.

Saying there are women and minorities in Gamergate is like there are women and minorities in the GOP. Sure they exist but neither organization really cares about them.
Jamie Walton was on an episode of the Fatman on Batman podcast (Kevin Smith basically started the charity with her). She obviously does not think much before she acts, which is a bit pathetic for the head of an organization that wants to become bigger and more significant over time. Her heart is in the right place, but she's coming across very poorly with this.
