My ghetto Karin match-ups:
Good:
Rashid
Laura
Zangief
Nash
FANG
Even or close:
Mika
Chun
Cammy
Vega
Necalli
Birdie
Dhalsim
Bad:
Ryu
Ken
Bison
I'd put Mika in the Good category, she really has no answers for Karin's buttons in the mid-range and is probably Karin's single best matchup IMO.

Actually if you do the HK version at full screen it becomes pretty safe, to the point that kens EX dp whiffs on reversal. If he performs it from a stand-still, it's punishable. If he performs it out of a run, he bounces away further and is typically safe.
Pay attention to his movement. If he starts running at you be ready to stick out something that will stop him in his tracks or try to jump and come down on top of him instead of just blocking him or something.
If he ever does the stationary version against Mika you can go straight into an f.MP throw combo after blocking it.
Character command lists are available in the pause menu in training mode, survival and story mode.
Online resource is here though.
Thanks for this information, but you never say what this anti-air is. You mention standing jab, but that couldn't be what you meant. Is it his SRK?

Zangief is literally a 10-0 matchup for my Mika. I have no clue how to approach him as he always seems to be coming out on top. Can't keep him out permanently. As soon as he is in, he only needs to guess right two and you are done.
Any tips?
Having kind of a weird issue... I'm logged into SFV, but it's a player name that's not me. It says my Favorite Character is Ryu, but whenever I get into a ranked match it uses Chun (who I play). And in the matches screen it even says my proper name next to my wins and losses. Anyone heard of something like this happening?
Well... guess I'm someone named "Purefection" in the mean time.Capcom's servers are crapping themselves. Again.
I find that I lose more to the random as fuck people as opposed to the more standard matches which bugs me. Last night I went on a nice streak from 1100 to 1600 though, only lost once during it after a set with my friend. I'm starting to just play Birdie just defensively and having people hang themselves while I body them with normals. I'm winning way more doing way less, lol.
After several normal playthroughs with characters that aren't my mains I find that getting close to the CPU is a must. Once you close in you just need to make them block a crouching light normal. Then you have to use a crouching medium normal that will let you combo into a special. A combination of this, grabs (very good against characters with no DP like Bison and Nash) and overheads will do the trick. Bison, Zangief, Nash and Birdie at high levels are the worst because of their health and random high damage combos out of nowhere, but you have to make them play your game. I advise you to prioritize the health bar once you are at level 25 or over. Attack+2/3 are understandable options only if you have 70% health or more imo. Also, don't every try to go in on Bison in the neutral once you reach level 30 (or level 50). Wait for scissor kicks so you can punish it and then you can start temporary shenanigans, but back off immediately the moment he blocks. The only time a mindreading CPU is unsafe is after an unsafe move. At all other times you may as well be boxing with a professional boxer. Why Nash? why don't you allow me passage past stage 28 of survival?
Or maybe I should blame the game for always giving me low health as an option after facing they guy who will surely piledrive you upon a blocked attack.

Decited to stop playing with the ds4stick and use the dpad instead, hopefully will make execution easier and lower risks for jumping by accident. Hope it dont take to long to adapt.
Trying to change my not be to agressive and impatient, feels like im losing loads of games becouse of it.

BTW have any of you guys ran into weird cases where players just seem to do the same thing over and over even if they're getting punished for it
I played against a Zangief last night who was at like 900 LP and all he did was jumping HK towards me
I got a perfect in the second round because I countered it every single time
And he didn't disconnect when he lost so it wasn't like he was trying to cheese his way to a high rank

Is the d pad considered better if you're using the regular out of the box controller for this game?
Pfft, Necalli's V-Trigger CA has got the be the most satisfying one in the game if it kills.
Not sure, its probably just a learning habit and self preferance, but it feels like using the ds4 analogue stick makes me do loads of mistakes becouse it seems to be very sensitive over how to do movements.
The ds4 dpad atleast feels like its not possible to do as much misclicks, but it doesnt feel to nice using it with the thumb.
I think most of us poor scrubs without fightstick are using the dpad but not sure.

I can't think of a single reason to use an analog stick, no matter how good, over a d-pad for a 2D fighting game.
When the alternative is the 360 dpad.I can't think of a single reason to use an analog stick, no matter how good, over a d-pad for a 2D fighting game.
Can someone link me to that ranking site? We really need to put it in the OP.
