Is there any date capcom has mentioned for the patch outside of 'march' ? I couldn't find anything. I'm just going to assume march 31st because capcom

Wish I could get matched with elite players. Would love to test my skills. Anybody heard about a rematch feature. Would love dat too!!

would definitely love a rematch feature, although it would probably have to turn it into a casual match past the first fight

What's wrong with birdies cr.mp?

Excuse me? That is his AA. What do you think it was supposed to be? I always have that CR.MP on deck for people who like to jump in. His HK chain grab is too slow to be a viable AA option.

Its possible for it to hit you on the ground when Birdie is still facing the opposite way.
He can do it late and still land it. I've had this happen several times when playing a friend who mains Birdie. It being his AA is completely fine but it shouldn't work if you do it too late. Maybe its an issue with spacing the jump correctly but the hitbox, imo, still seems too horizontal for what it is. It feels like SF4 Sakura cr.HP levels of braindead.

An example: https://streamable.com/8rd0

Lol, at least it can do something. Karin's is garbage

Nah, she has frame trap setups with it. You can also combo into it if you want them closer to the corner. It'll also build v-gauge

I'm surprised 2 weeks on and there's still server issues, I was expecting a week max but this is ridiculous :/

RQ still happening does not surprise me however.

so we can all just agree that mika is pretty damn bad right? :(

Yeah.... and nah. She feels about where Capcom originally graded her, which is to say toward the bottom of the roster, but that doesn't mean she's bad. Her V-skill definitely sucks, but I have a great idea for fixing it.

It's harder to beat scrubs with her, but I'm having an easier time winning against good players w/ her than w/ Birdie, who I think is solid. And she just steamrolls "decent" players (so far, in my experience, ymmv, etc).

ain't me, for sure. i went from like 1000 -> 800 points last night :(

I went from 900 to 1180 to 850 back to 1050 last night. It was a terrible ride. :(

You're gonna have some bad days and inevitably play people that are just better than you even if they have the same LP. LP isn't entirely representative of player skill.

I've dropped almost 1000LP in the past week and nearly fell to bronze, and I don't feel like I've gotten worse. It just happens.

He's the one who knocked me out of Capcom's media SFV tournament at E3 last year. I'm hoping they do one again this years and he's in it, because I want a shot at revenge.

You should pull the plug or slap the controller out of his hand if he's winning.

Is your account the right account? You're not signed into someone else's?

It's my account.

My latest matches have been recorded, though, and they do indicate the proper amount of LP I should have:

It's way too good of an AA IMO. It's pretty much impossible to ever jump on a birdie, it stuffs everything and easy as hell to react with. The character has barely if any weaknesses, so I'm baffled why they gave him the best AA in the game.

you can only come at him from an extremely diagonal far angle or very quick close crossup. its rough

Karma works in mysterious ways.

I got into a major vehicle accident that totaled my car today. No SF5 for a while now.

Holding the biggest L ever . Luckily no one was hurt and my hip damage isn't hospital material.

FeelsBeardMan :(

Damn, dude, Sorry to hear, thankfully you weren't hurt severely. Hope you get everything sorted out for you.

My fighter profile says I'm a rookie with 0 LP. I hope that's a visual bug and not because I got punished for quitting a couple laggy games.

If I get knocked down and they arent' jumping in, whats the downside of me just waking up with crouching jabs? What can beat that? I'm still not totally sure what to do on my and my opponents wake up...i play Chun Li.

Any medium, heavy, or special attack will stuff a jab. Priority system.

Jab < Medium < Heavy = Special < Super

What's exactly getting you killed in the matchup? For general matchup knowledge, two of Mika's most important attacks to start her offense are charge HK and her slide, since they can lead into combos or mixups, both of which can be neutral jumped on reaction and let you punish with full combo. If you can prevent her from doing those two things, she's pretty much forced to jump to get in as you should be able to control the mid-range game with fireballs and Ryu's normals like c.MP or c.MK.

I think it's me just not knowing her at all tbh, which is mostly my fault. I respect her normals a lot and the ones that look punishable often aren't...either that or the Mikas I'm remembering fighting had poor connections...

DP her jumpins. DP after getting knocked down. She can do litterally nothing other than raw super on her wakeup, so when you knock her down, you get free attacks on her.

More "advanced" stuff would be footsies, you can look her out pretty much entirely with good footsies, using your fireballs and normals at the proper lengths and moment makes it virtually impossible for Mika to do anything to you

"expert" level stuff - Parry, parry parry parry. If you can parry her consistently on her jumpins and charged HK's, you get a free win. It litterally gives you huge punishes off things that would normally be safe if they connect.

Thanks. Didn't think of parrying her HK. I need to just play more Mikas to get matchup knowledge I think.

fought 3 different necalli's with 3 different play styles in a row . That was interesting .

I fought a Necalli who kept uppering everything. I crush countered a couple thinking that would show him, but his mixup was that there was no mixup. Came down to last round, last hit, and I was like, no way he's going to upper again.

EX Upper.

KO.

I hold dat L.

Will you guys be mad if the March update was pushed into April?
No, but if Alex is moved to March he better be free as FChamp was to KBR at Winter Brawl.
I just quit the fuck out of a laggy game. It seemed completely one sided since the Ryu had no problem reacting to everything and hitting all his stuff, while it was completely unplayable for me. No regrets.
I never quit. I bet that is why my win percentage is kinda crappy.

Get some rest, man. Go lay down and think about getting a heating pad or taking a hot bath if you can. Had my car totaled a few years ago and felt totally fine the entire day afterwards. Woke up the next day and couldn't move because I was so sore. It was so surreal.

Stretching helps a bit too. When I was a kid I was in a pretty rough accident and I just ended up laying down right afterwards. Within a few hours my back had totally seized up and I couldn't move for the rest of the night. It was pretty scary.

A well timed meaty or any medium, heavy, or special attack really with the priority system.

Ah ok, thanks guys....And most likely the medium or heavy attack will have more start up so they have to do the attack early to beat the start up of the jab? Orrrr....

Basically yes. Meaties are designed to shutdown your wakeup options. Any button you press on wakeup has startup frames. Your opponent's meaty attack will have you waking up into the active frames of a move. You either need to block it or perform a move that has invincibility on startup, like a DP. If you can get a jab out, they mistimed it.

The downside of waking up with jab all the time is they can do a meaty attack (an attack that hits you on it's last active frames) and open you up. It's not really advisable to wake-up jab against most of this cast because they crush counter it for big damage.

Awesome, thanks.

I went from 1700LP to 1300, back to 1500, and last night went on a great streak that took me to silver.

Ranked is so hard for me. I play so stupid compared to how I normally would. My decision making is so bad and I get hit by so much that I know how to get around or block. I don't have this problem in tourneys or casuals, just ranked matches.

BTW have any of you guys ran into weird cases where players just seem to do the same thing over and over even if they're getting punished for it

I played against a Zangief last night who was at like 900 LP and all he did was jumping HK towards me

I got a perfect in the second round because I countered it every single time

And he didn't disconnect when he lost so it wasn't like he was trying to cheese his way to a high rank

Lupe method, imo.

Seems like everyone I play thats high 2000 LP or more either RQ's or has a shit connection and is unplayable. :/

And I'm not even 2000 yet so I dunno why its matching me against people 3k+
