No, though if you want to do things like max social ranks out fast, it'd be helpful, as it both takes a while and there's so many items it can be hard to tell what people will like.

Anyone playing with a controller? How do you feel about the controls using a controller?
From a bit of playing (<5 mins) the controls feel a little convoluted with the menus and all, but I just ordered a few things to get it on my TV (Steam Link and some USB 3.0 Gigabit stuff for my ThinkPad which is serving as a Steam Streaming/Media server).

, I dont really like the front facing ones (even if that base Maru doenst look that bad in front view), even if they are usually easier to do when it comes to poses. Want to create a cohesive mod. I hope you still like the ondulated no glasses one enoguh for use it About the text, I put a link for dowload on mega with a .xnb file. You just have go into the stardew valley folder. Then go into the one called Content, and then the one called Portraits, and place it there.

Hahaha, Im glad you liked it. Did both becuase I really liked both versions and didnt know which one to choose. Also becuase I think I remember reading you mentioning you liked the curly one, and TimeEffect liking the ondulated one, and didnt want to leave someone without a nice version.
Better than mouse fro everything but the menus and bbeing picly placing some objects in the floor.
Fishing is much better with controller IMO.
You need to get the key at the bottom of the mine.

I have a question I want to start brewing Alcohol and I heard you need a keg but I can't seem to find one in my crafting menu is it a recipe or what?

Are they being fed and milked? Do u have a heater (if its winter)?
Level 8 farming to unlock the keg, I believe. Hold onto good fruits and lots of hops for when you can make them. Wine is worth 3x the value of the fruit and takes a few days, pale ale is like 300g and is ready in 1-2 days. Even better, if you went the crops route at level 5 farming, there's a level 10 profession that makes artisan goods worth a whopping 50% more. Kegs are awesome.
Yeah I pet them daily etc, though I can't milk them yet (4 or 5 days for now). Maybe I should wait for that to happen and see if it's different. I didn't have that problem with cows though.

So I found a book for the library that talked about beating the arcade game Praire King giving you a great prize.
Tried it just for shits and giggles, and then on my second try today I had the luck (because its pretty hard) to get to the, what i think the first boss.
Had an atomic bomb on my inventory, and seeing he was a bunch of dicks killing it in the normal way I said, oh, didnt remember I had this in myn inventory, used it and killed the boss.
And the game seems to not count it as a kill so you stay in that level forver. Fuck!

Oh cool Thanks , I did take the tiller perk at level 5 but i'm going to have to get up a couple levels before I reach level 8.
My goats are the same, two seasons now. When it rains check if they're happy then. I think they're only happy when it rains.

I just realized another ghibli reference is the soot sprites in the mine..... lol kind of makes me feel sad that I'm slaughtering them all especially considering they put up hardly any fight.

So, if I wanted to use front facing wavy hair Maru, what's wrong with the other portrait mods on the forum?
Does it lack detail/extra portrait expressions?

Reached Winter on 1st year! I think I'll invest in just another chicken and make more of these barrels to transforms the blackberries in jam.

I dont know, i havent seen all the mods for those (I did try the first mod done "Overhauled Marriage Candidates", and it was pretty bad expression wise, thats one of the reasons why I started doing it my own).
I read some of the guys that did mods, and one of them said he was not an artist, so the quality of their portraits could vary (i know some days back he was having problems with penny's phone pose for example). The nurse portrait is super hard to redraw with front facing wavy maru because the hat doesnt work well with that type of hair, and what this guys are doing, instead of redrawing, is copy an pasting faces.
Her normal ingame clothes will probably be wrong also becuase I know they dont bother to change them in the portraits (as you can see in the example he gives you in the mod page EDIT: They changed the ingame sprite from what i see now, but the shirt is still the wrong color).
All in all, if you prefer the facing one, you can mix and match mods of characters, as every character is a different .xnb file, and with Maru you even have two different .xnb files (one for normal and one for nurse). You could, for example use the Maru in those mods, and if you like better the nurse or another character in my pack, mix it with that. Its also pretty easy to do becuase everything comes in its own files.

No escape rope, but each room isn't that big and when you try to exit it takes you directly to the top level.
Every 5 levels = elevator which allows you to come back
In between there's a ladder where you came from, if you climb it up the only option is to exit to the top

You can buy a calendar for your house somewhere, FYI. I saw it once, really early, but couldn't afford it.
I'd just buy a calendar to put in my house and check as part of my daily routine alongside the tv, if I was gonna bother haha. I tend to just look for the next birthday or whatever and remember that's coming. I think you can buy the calendar from Robin alongside other furniture.

Although to be fair, if a nerf comes it's probably going to affect all berries. They're just much better than other crops for the seasons.
Berries are great if you're straight selling them, but I'll take hops or starfruit for pale ale/wine anyday.
Then there's ancient fruit/gem berries =p
Wine is worth 3x the value of the fruit it was made from and there's a level 10 profession that makes artisan goods worth 50% more. That means a normal quality starfruit becomes a 3600g wine. Hops produce daily and pale ale takes 1-2 days to ferment, that's 450 each with the 50% artisan goods profession.
