Black Widow is so out of place here. Everyone else can either fly, has power armor, is a genetically enhanced super soldier or can shoot fire out of their hands. But Black Widow... I guess she has a gun or something.

She's gonna taze Cap.

Oh my.

The overly preachy stuff at the beginning was meh, but the imagery was great, and Spidey at the end was fantastic. I love his look. Updated, yet still classic. I'm wondering if he'll go through some costume changes throughout the movie, with the last one being a Stark invention, what with the moving eyes. I'm torn. I love that I got to finally see Marvel's Spider-Man, but I'm also like, "Man, what a great reveal that'd have been for the movie itself." Whatever! I can't take it back now!

Really, really excited for this movie.

I just saw a trailer breakdown that paused to show how many casualties were reported at each of the incidents the Avengers were being lectured about by Gen Ross.

New York: 74

Washington DC: 23

Sokovia: 177

That's really, really, ridiculously low. I'd maybe buy it for DC because the Helecarriers were heavily automated and went down over water but the New York number is just baffling.

I know this falls under the general problem of writers having no sense of scale but you have a full scale invasion of one of the most populated cities on Earth and less than a hundred people died? Why is anyone complaining about the Avengers? It is mind boggling that anyone would be giving them any shit if they managed to keep the casualty rate in double digits.

lol holy shit that's peanuts. i wonder how many they say died in batman v superman's senate hearing. both should be at least four digits tbh.

Best part of the trailer when they showed footage from Age of Ultron and Cap was like "ok that's enough! I can't watch that movie again..."

oh man. somebody has to throw in a clip of scarlet witch and quicksilver talking prompting olsen and evan's embarrassed looks.

Yeah that bothers me a little bit too. But there's probably more justification for the accords in the context of the movie. I hope.

I'm going to guess is "official counts" just IRL where always are heavily manipulated. Also not accounting of missed and displaced.

General Ross is CLEARLY not just looking to be a good Samaritan. Controlling the Avengers is duplicitious, I'm calling it now. He'll stretch the severity of whatever they've done to the extreme.

And to all the people saying "Yeah but it's Loki's fault", the general public couldn't give a damn. Like the World Security Council guy said, Loki is gone. Off earth. Guess who's left behind as a delicious scapegoat?

Yeah, Shield was dirty. And it's clean leader, Nick Fury, is dead to the world. Without telling anybody he was clean. And who was behind the Avengers initiative? The leader of an organisation that was basically HYDRA.

Sokovia is a bit bullshit because Tony is clearly the one at fault. I'm hoping they're not handwaving that away and it's partially the reason why Iron Man has partially gone boy scout.

Also, Daredevil newspaper had the New York casualties at 300+

It's less the casulaties and more the damage. If you look at the cost of each of them, they were in the billions. Skovia was over 400 billion. Not to mention this no doubt neglects to mention the incident that happens at the start of the movie.

lol holy shit that's peanuts. i wonder how many they say died in batman v superman's senate hearing. both should be at least triple digits tbh.

Let's face it, the 74 in New York probably died of natural causes and Ross is scrambling to find any evidence anyone died that day.

Can spideys eyes even be explained by science? It works for cartoons but doesn't fit in for live action.
They're mechanical. So they're about as easily justified as super soldier serums, robotic power suits, Norse Gods from space, or sentient AI robots powered by cosmic jewels.

$500B in damage/losses tho. Who cares about lives amirite? /politician

;P

TBH it sounds like they did a quick ADR just for the trailer to introduce the character since it doesn't seem to match the scene quite right. It wouldn't surprise me if they did, considering a bunch of trailers have dialogue that don't actually end up in the film.

You can see his mouth move

The other thing is that they are hammering home the point so much that Rhodey is going to die that I don't think it's happening. That said, I do think we'll see one or two members of the team bite it, considering the Russo's comments that the ending "will piss people off."

You can see his mouth move

they ADR all of his scenes though especially since you can't see his mouth. this could have been a last minute dubbing. a shit one at that but whatever, there's a lot of likelihood that scene is different in the film.

edit: actually it aint even that bad on second watch. it just took away the initial excitement from me though due to the low energy :(

Never seen an Avengers or Captain America film (and I'm a fan of Spiderman, Batman, Antman ect) just never appealed to me. This time however, I am there day one, what a cast.

I wonder if this can challenge Star Wars TFA?

Its probably got something to do with half of those cities being reduced to rubble? There's more to life than a pulse. How has those cities destructions effected the local economy, jobs, infrastructure, hell even traffic.

Nah Star Wars is next level. It will do well, but theres a lot of space in "well" in comparison to a behemoth like SW

Otherwise, I do like the new Spide-Man costume, even if his voice doesn't fit at all.

Hawkeye is there as well.
