The CGI looks incredibly bad. He's way too bright, it looks like they put it together in the past weekend or something. I really hope he doesn't look this crappy in the movie.

I don't like that Arrows on the suit, apart from that it looks really cool. I watched the trailer as soon as it was posted so I went in blind, I screamed when Spidey appeared.

People are complaining about someone having a costume that's too bright and colorful in a movie where the titular character wears red, white, and blue.

I think the problem with some people disliking Spider-Mans look is it's because his suit looks too colorful and vibrant as opposed to Iron-Man, Cap and the others.

Remember Cap in Avengers?

costume looks great. the lighting in that airport scene sucks though. isn't helping appearances.

my mish-mash of GOAT spidey would be MCU suit, andrew garfield in it, and tobey maguire out of it (though I liked him in it too tbh)

The problem is the lighting. It is such ass that bright colors look sort of out of place.

Especially compared to how muted everyone else is.
Exactly. Y'all are blinded by the hype. I don't want a grimdark Spider-Man, that'd be stupid. I would like a Spider-Man that doesn't look like he sticks out like a sore thumb, though.

Stark: "We need to be kept in check"

Cap: "So the guy who built Ultron is siding with the people who wanted to nuke New York and almost killed 220,000 people with a drone program gone wrong."

Yeah, #TeamCap all the way

Yeah, before the previous trailer, I assumed they wouldn't even bother trying to bring in the Registration aspect, that it would all be revolving around Bucky (Having killed Howard Stark, and probably being framed for bombings/Rhodey vs. Being "Before Cap" friends with Steve, both men "out of time").

Cause it seems more like the Government should be registering itself, with it's various fuckups (since it's really all just Hydra. Thanks Peggy, for not stopping them.)

nope not talking about the backdrops.

winter soldier looked better than this does too (cinematography-wise). it's that airport scene thats throwing it all off. the rest of the trailer looks fine but that scene is just absurdly bright. bad lighting making everybody look almost cg-like. even the humans.

it's probably a reason why some people are thinking that spiderman looks off too. put him in any other scene in that trailer and he would prolly look better.

The DP for this movie is the same as WS, plus all of Neil Blomkamp's movies which I can definitely see here.

Ok but we are talking about a teenager who idolizes superheroes and wants to be one, not a bunch of grown up self-serious professionals with military-grade gear

Iron Man himself had no reason to make his suit sports car red, he just thought it looked cool

It doesn't really matter how everyone else looks, Spider-Man SHOULD stand out in a crowd of superheroes.

Hi-Res of Spidey

It looks way better here.

I loved the design before, but it looks a little off in motion, like the suits texture looked a little too costume shot. I still think it could help to be a different material, but this also looks incredibly loyal to the comics.

I like the idea of the animating eyes, but it looked funky in the trailer.. it'll probably shape up by the time the film hits.

The same way Captain America's shield can dent a tank but never cuts a person in half.

Also, y'all remember this?

Interesting, looks like he'll have an earlier suit before the one in the trailer. Cool stuff!

Didn't see anything to push me one way or the other before seeing the trailer, but spidey sounds like a 12 year old, and his outfit (though admittedly apparently tech-boosted) looks like a glazed donut.

Tony's still a dumbass, but I guess it makes sense given how out of control his dumbass shit got him into re: Ultron.

edit: Some of the outfit being weird is probably due to so much black outlining the white-eye spaces.

(I'm making a slight assumption with this) Stark jumping early onto the "we need to be kept in check" bandwagon seems like him trying to really quickly mask the fact that he's the only guy on the team who really needs to be put in any kind of check.

So, in that scene where Tony backhands Cap, I can spot Bucky behind them reacting to that punch, and that Booth/Tank room, there's someone in there. I'd say they are red headed with long hair, so that's 2 guesses, and I doubt they'd put BW in a special booth, so I'm assuming SW.

A definite, reasonable assumption. Sounds like a thing MCU Tony would do.

Spiderman voice sounds like when you first start a multiplayer game on COD, wish they made him older I like the older wise cracking Spiderman.

Raimi's sensibility: "A man imbued with the power of a spider through a weird experiment is fine...but him making his own web shooters defies physics - I know, I'll make the web come out of his wrists - even though on real spiders, it comes out of their ass...whatever - delusional fans will defend me on the internet."

Brother, changing the way Spiderman's webshooters work is like not killing batman's parents. It denies a very certain part of the character's core identity. Sorry.

I think the organic web shooters were also done for story pacing reasons. They only have two hours to show an origin story, and having sequences with Peter trying to build and perfect mechanical web shooters would have eaten up too much screen time that could be used for other things. It was just a way to streamline the story elements to work within a condensed movie format. Personally I thought it worked really well in the context of the movie, and I never really felt like it crippled Peter Parker as a character. He still was portrayed as geeky, awkward and rather smart. But also taking out that element made him also a little more grounded in reality.

In the Marc Webb series, Peter kinda takes components and the web fluid from Oscorp and reworks them into web shooters. The web fluid was something that he purchased from some Oscoro website, or some nonsense like that. Done to fast forward through the creation of the web shooters and streamline the plot, yet again. I found this to be a little clunkier than the Raimi Spider-Man, because most of the technologies were already conveniently created and right there for Peter to take.

In the MCU it seems like they are working around this by having Tony Stark build Spider-man's webshooters/ suit for him. Or at least this seems to be the impression that I get. Which, I guess could work within the confines of this universe.

She's there to beat Hawkeye's ass like he owes her money.

AGAIN.

Oh that's right, I guess Hwwkeye is there and kinda hidden behind the group on the right.

I feel like you have to be in your late 30's or older to really get the reference..

Really though, Stark's the only real problem child on the team.

Avengers 1 - What does Loki use to power the portal? Oh, just Stark's off-the-grid building in the middle of New York that runs off a power source Stark pretty much keeps to himself.

Iron Man 3 - The entire Mandarin plot is caused by Stark being a dick.

Avengers 2 - He builds goddamn Ultron and his solution to the problem is to build another near unstoppable murder robot that he had no way of knowing would be good or evil.

MCU Stark causes more damage than the fucking Hulk. Meanwhile, Cap saved a couple hundred thousand lives in Winter Soldier and from the very moment he was told about the drone project he was all like "this is a really bad idea". Nobody else in The Avengers causes even remotely the same amount of collateral damage that Stark causes.

I really love that Spidey's costume is a throwback/homage to the Romita Sr. era style of the suit. I have no doubt that when his solo movie releases in 2017, he'll have another updated suit. That's just how these things go.

I just want us to get to Mile Morales one day. I'm down for having two Spider-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther looked amazing as well. Despite the one of the trailers, I still think this movie is going to have some lightheartedness to it. It looks like a lot of fun. Kind of busy, but I think in an entertaining popcorn film kind of way.
