Yes...

Sooo obvious.

I don't know what to tell ya there

But if it's a port wouldn't that make Vision female?

well that depends on if the end is male or female sir.

Well he can always switch sides. I'm betting either him, Black Panther, or Black Widow do at some point.

all appearances are they Iron Man's plan is to lock all dissenters and usurpers in some under water prison. So I'm going to guess that eventually everyone but War Machine and Vision switch sides.

It's like poetry, it rhy--

Wait, wrong movie franchise.

Anyway, yeah, I loved that little callback. I was never a big Captain America fan, as I honestly didn't know much about the character other than he was from the 30's and 40's, and fought Nazis, and ended up in modern times, but I always thought he was just a propaganda machine character that stuck around.

I only read a little bit of him in team comics like New Avengers, but he was never the focus.

The Chris Evans movies won me over a Cap fan. I just absolutely love his portrayal of the character. It's very earnest an genuine. Something that I feel is missing from Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman. Cap just has this decent guy personality that isn't hollow or forced. It's just who he is. My favorite scene in all of the movies so far is when he, as Pre-super soldier serum Steve, jumps on the grenade Tommy Lee Jones throws down, not realizing it was a dud grenade. Caps self sacrifice for what he feels is right is why I like him. Stark is a selfish, narcissistic, egomaniac, and while he learns micro lessons in his adventures, they never really seem to stick like they should. Everything he does is for the betterment of Tony Stark, under the guise of doing it for the greater good.

He didn't want to put a suit of armor around the world because it was the right thing to do, he wanted to put a suit of armor around the world because he was fucking scared. Scared that when the aliens came back, he wouldn't make it out alive.

With all of that said, I absolutely love Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of Tony, and I actually really like the character because of how flawed he is. But I'm still on Team Cap. That guy is a fucking hero in every sense of the word, and he's going to die to do what's right for others, his own needs/wants/desires a second, third, and fourth priority.
I don't want to start a pissing war between DC and Marvel, but that earnest aspect is really absolutely the thing that made me love Evan's portrayal of Cap and not love Cavill's Supes. Hopefully they'll work on that characterization a bit more in the next film.

Not it wasn't.

He puts on the gauntlet, and then it immediately cuts to him already fighting with Bucky. His gauntlet hand is covered behind his other hand when he fires. Anyone could have missed that.

I think you're the only one who missed that.

Yes...

Sooo obvious.

CU of right hand getting armor put on it. Medium shot of Stark grabbing gun with left hand and putting right hand over end of barrel. Medium shot of gun going off and Stark looking surprised, and not shot in face. Because his right hand blocked the shot. The right hand we just saw getting covered in armor not even 1 second before.

The basics of montage in editing makes it very hard to miss this I'd think.

where did you even get the info about the water prison?

the trailer. you didn't see that thing rising out of the water like a submarine? the next shot was clearly a prison facility. Just an assumption but Tony constructed an underwater prison to house those he feels need to be separated for the good of civilization. Including some of these Avengers if need be.

I could be wrong and that could just be how the trailer was structured to make it seem that way, but that's very much how it came across to me. Tony is going to try to capture anyone who won't get in line. Vision will probably be cool with that since he's an objective android or whatever. T'Challa will be okay with a lot of that seeing as someone tried to end him in the opening sequences.

What's going on in this shot?

Who is that? Why does he have Cap's shield? How'd he get it? Is that Cap's new costume?

Yes, because I was totally supposed to know that given how obvious they made it in the trailer.

Not to pile on but not only was it completely obvious (I dont even know how else you would see that scene) but it was already obvious in the last trailer aswell

it's pretty clearly a prison

The more I look at it, the more unfinished Spiderman looks in terms of CGI. I wonder if they literally just got a first pass out to fit it into the trailer. It looks more plastic than cloth, and gives off a very weird artificial impression.

I didn't see the last trailer so clearly I missed out on the discussion you guys already had.

Oblivious.

Alright, so let's say it's not obvious but it's already been explained. Does it make sense to you now?

I didnt say you needed to have watched the last one to understand it, its the same exact scene

yes ty. and with Tony's sigh...I must say I got the vibe he netted his first Avenger and started having feelings about it all. Like someone off screen is talking shit to him or asking "how could you do this!" And you see the sadness in Tony of doing what he believes is right even if he feels otherwise.

I wonder...if he did grab someone, who might the first one have been? Bruce??? :O

You're not looking at a good enough image. Check out the hi-res version here. Look at the detailing on his shoulders. If this is CG, it looks very fabric-like.
