Okay so I'm still starting out only lvl 4. Was working on the Madison Square garden mission and while it's challenging solo was doing okay... Get to (I guess) the boss on the roof- fight couple of waves and ..boom get DC'd.. Log back on and I'm back on the street having to run it again.. kept all the xp and the one green..I haven't run back in cause bedtime, but you can farm some of these missions I take it?

Same thing happened to me the first time. Running through with it in matchmaking made it a really quick mission. From what I saw on the map, you can replay these missions after you beat them.

Cool, will probably team up tomorrow, but knew I was gonna be one and done tonight.

Been trying but that boss at the end has way too much reach. I've spent most of my night playing this damn mission over and over only to get to the end and have everyone quit. Then that means teleporting back to HQ, walk all the way back out there again and matchmake for another fail. The only updside is I'm learning a bit about the stats and perks forcibly but the brick wall is really not fun.

You can matchmake straight from the map. Early on tends to be harder until people figure out the game.

HOLY SHIT

I was playing and it started raining like hell, so I decided to turn everything off (except the laptop) and there's a lot of lightning now O_o crazy stuff
I need proof of this! That was one thing I wanted to be patched in, I really want there to be rain in this game, if this had rain similar to watch dogs it would be amazing.

I am conflicted now, lol. Based on this it seems like I can just grind dailies and just stay away from DZ completely to gear up, since even DZ vendor gear is worse than phoenix credit crafted gear. Even worse when all the DZ high end gear requires rank 50 to even buy them to begin with.

So...
1) Get to lvl 30 and do dailies, grind missions to get loot to breakdown to craft from the phoenix credit blueprints, stay away from DZ forever (impossible to solo in the 30s bracket, DZ gear being inferior and take forever to grind ranks anyway)

or

2) Stay in the 25-29 bracket and farm DZ rank, lose out on phoenix credit from dailies.

Super helpful end game stuff too: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision/comments/49uonv/endgame_informations_here/

One guy will have aggro of the boss, he should focus on kiting the boss around as much as possible. Other players take out of the adds, put damage to the boss (also use weakspots like gascans!!) and when more adds spawn take them out. When boss focuses to another player he should do kiting.

No one should be hugging him because reach of his main attack is quite sick.

Did the mission on Hard with my friend and went smoothly with above idea. Kiting and keeping amount of adds at low end.

The way they tiered the dark zones is silly. I'm level 15 now and I don't see anyone in there anymore. Makes extracting a nightmare - the early zones were way more fun. I wish I had stayed at 14. Not only that, but I can't play it with my friends who are different levels.

Advanced Weaponry vendor is a very worthy upgrade for levels in the teens, it seems so far.

God damn the level designs for the missions are good. If you are running with a group, playing in hard is a must. It makes you utilize and appreciate the level design variation so much. You seldom can stay in one spot an entire encounter like on normal. You have to mind your flanks and have exit routes too. When ever we get into a big set piece area,
We are immediately scouting the best places and out fallback. I can see why people might think the missions are boring if you run normal and just cut through everything without barely needing to use cover let alone being overwhelmed constantly by mobs. We did the Napalm mission tonight and it was fantastic. So many intense moments.

On a separate note, my buddy was dead when the boss dropped the loot at the end of the napalm mission and the other player completed the mission. So is that dropped boss loot gone for good? A postmaster system like Destiny would be nice.

Only just found that, it's gonna save me a lot of time.

Finally got him down with these tips and a decent group. Got matched with a level 8 and level 9 and got through it without much trouble. Before I was getting paired with level 5's and it seems they were pretty much just cannon fodder.

I play the game for hours and then spend another hour min/maxing stuff, picking up my stuff in my base and then look at perks, talents, etc before I even log off. Some seriously addictive game loops at play here.

With the flame thrower dudes you need to keep your distance. I also reccomend having everyone on the team running with some healing thing, that makes life so much better. The cleaners imo are the harder of the factions.

They are a lot easier when you realize the med station mod that cures status Effects makes fire worthless against you.

finally started playing tonight and rescued all three of those characters for the base. Tech one turned out to be the the hardest mission so far. had to retry a few times. playing solo just to get through the opening missions. might finally do some MM tomorrow.

You can drag, or be dragged, to a higher bracket.

Any one got any good tank builds? Atm I am going for high armour/health.

I have ok gear for level 16:

Armour: 490+
Firearms: 8100
Health: 11,100. (Stamina: 380. I think)
Electronics: 3000

End game currency used to purchase level 30 high-end and legendary gear and blueprints from special gear vendor, located in BoO's 2nd floor.

Phoenix Credits can be gained by doing daily missions, killing named NPC's in DZ etc.

Edit:

Grab that Phoenix Credit pack, 30 is decent headstart to that farm.

Daily missions? Where are those at?

Does that only work bringing people to a higher bracket? We tried going in with me as a 15 and my group as 12s, but it separated us at the door, pretty seamlessly I might add. If I were group leader, would they have been able to come with me to the 15-16 bracket?

Either way, the brackets are way too convoluted, IMO, and there's still noone in my zone when I load in at this point.

anyone know how to get this echo?

Yes, when you guys zone in, you'll be separated. They can then fast travel to you, with a warning that theyre being taken to a higher bracket. I can't 100% confirm they changed this from beta, but I don't see why they would.

Good lord. That Mall mission in hard was so freakin long for me. I spend a good hour with a group of friends but that was seriously brutal. But i had a fantastic time completing it.

That's good to know, thanks for the tip.

Still irked at not seeing anyone else in the 15-16 zone though.

I just wanna do free roaming missions, but every 'free roam' game I join is just people AFK or go to do a mission as soon as someone joins their group. Very frustrating.

Quick question:

When you do hard mode, do you get normal mode rewards too? Or do you have to redo the mission on normal to get those specific rewards?
